Trump’s frustration … Oprah waiting to hear from God … more media madness … Obama staffer starts anti-Trump organization … a university offers anti-Trump credit course

Here are my observations on items in the news.

I’VE REMARKED ON THIS BEFORE, but with President Trump’s latest tweet in which he expresses his displeasure with Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ decision to have the DOJ inspector general investigate the FISA issue, I believe a reminder is called for.

Simply, the president is frustrated. He’s a businessman, who headed a billion-dollar organization, accustomed to directing actions to get things done on his timetable. You may recall Majority Leader Mitch McConnell remarking about the president’s discomfort with slow-motion process of legislation in Washington DC during a speech in Kentucky.

Changing the ways of Washington is a daunting task, but the president seems determined to do so, and politicians on both sides and the media are seeing this every day.

Would you ever have expected President Trump, or any Republican for that matter, tell a bipartisan group that they are “afraid of the NRA?”

OPRAH WINFREY, amid calls for her to consider a run for President, told close friends that she “went into prayer – God, if you think I’m supposed to run, you gotta tell me …”

If she decides to run, don’t look for Joy Behar to call her mentally ill. Remember, it was Behar who, while mocking Vice President Mike Pence, said “It’s one thing to talk to Jesus. It’s another thing when Jesus talks to you … that’s mental illness … hearing voices.”

NBC Nightly News screen grab.

THE MEDIA’S DOWNWARD SPRIALWhen consumer confidence reached its highest level since November 2000, it went unmentioned on ABC, CBS and NBC, because it was good news for the economy. NBC Nightly News decided to cover another important economics story – the decline in average payout by the tooth fairy.

All three of the networks continued their obsession with Russia meddling stories.

NBC’s Soledad O’Brian revealed her ignorance when she tweeted, “Sigh … So remarkably unintelligent,” in response to Dana Loesch’s statement that “The NRA is going to protect due process for innocent Americans, and that is an approach that we are going to hold to. Due process must be respected … it is a fundamental principle of this country.”

@MrClarkJKent responded on twitter with this: “Leftist doesn’t bother to hide disdain for due process … ‘sigh’ so remarkably unsurprising.”

CNN’s Don Lemon, who is constantly looking for ways to criticize the Fox News Channel, told his meager audience that while monitoring Fox he noted that they failed to report on the resignation of Hope Hicks Wednesday night, while boasting that “we cover all of these things every day.”

John Roberts, who is called upon to report on White House news for Fox all day long, tweeted that he reported on Hicks’ resignation during each of Fox’s four afternoon programs leading to and including its evening news, Special Report. “Clearly someone (Lemon) is not watching Fox, but saying they are.” Roberts tweeted.

SPEAKING OF THE MEDIA – Remember Ben Rhodes, President Obama’s boy genius national security advisor, who mocked journalists covering the Iran nuclear deal? In the May 5, 2016 New York Times magazine, Rhodes said that it was easy to shape a favorable position of the proposed agreement because of the inexperience of many of those covering the issue. Citing their young age and lack of experience, he said they looked to the White House for talking points.

“They literally know nothing. We created an echo chamber. They (the reporters) were saying things that validated what we had given them to say.”

Which leads me to the story that Rhodes, former Obama and Hillary staffers and some civil servants are about to form “National Security Action,” a 501(c)(4) tax-exempt organization that will not endorse candidates, but will campaign against them.

While voters are enjoying the fruits of the tax cuts and regulatory relief under the Trump administration, the Dems, with no new ideas to persuade voters, will continue their anti-Trump effort by politicizing national security issues. Man! That sounds like a winner.

SAN DIEGO STATE UNIVERSITY is taking on President Trump with a credit course – “Trump: Impeachment, Removal or Conviction,” according to Campus Reform. The one-credit course being offered this month is dedicated to the topic of removing Donald Trump from office. The only required reading for the course is the book, “The Case for Impeachment.” The course will explore the possibility of removal under the 25th Amendment. Doesn’t that just make you so proud?
