The Kavanaugh confirmation … the midterm elections … and the declassification of those documents

Here are my observations and opinions on my three selected topics of the day.

                  THE KAVANAUGH CONFIRMATION

Here’s to Judge Kavanaugh. Character tested and proven. (quotesgram.com)

“Congratulations, Sen. Feinstein: You’ve managed to make our politics even uglier,” reads the headline over a column by Jonah Goldberg in the Los Angeles Times. Not a supporter of President Trump mind you, Goldberg devotes his column to “what ifs.” What if Brett Kavanaugh is guilty? What if he isn’t? And concludes, “The only thing I am sure of now is that Sen. Dianne Feinstein has behaved outrageously. Because no matter what you choose to believe, she waited too long to reveal accusation.”

“That’s not her job to do that,” responded Debra Katz, attorney for Kavanaugh’s accuser, to CNN commentator Alisyn Camerota’s inquiry as to determining the burden of proof on her client regarding the corroboration of her story. “It should be done by investigators,” said Katz. Really.

“I keep hearing the indicia of elite status – notably, that Blasey Ford is a college professor,” remarked Ann Althouse in her September 19, 2018 blog, Althouse. Commenting that she wanted like cases to be treated alike, she reminding her readers how the media denigrated Paula Jones as they repeated James Carville’s line, “If you drag a hundred-dollar bill through a trailer park, you never know what you’ll find.”

I trust you have heard the references to “Dr.” Blasey Ford.

“The Democrats don’t care whether or not Brett Kavanaugh actually did this,” wrote Jim Treacher @jtLOL, “They don’t care about him, his family, the accuser or her family … anybody. They’re just desperately scrambling to maintain their grip on power. All other concerns are secondary.”

“The agitators, true believers, and committed cultural Marxists have grown increasingly desperate as they try to stave off their imminent discomfiture and defeat,” writes Michael Walsh of the Democrats in American Greatness, September 19, 2018. “This week will be crucial to putting the Democrats back in their boxes. Let’s see if the GOP will take it. Call their bluff. Call a vote.”

“New poll asking about Dr. Ford’s allegations against Judge Kavanaugh” asks credible/not credible/haven’t heard enough/not sure, writes Jeremiah Stephen Dunleavy IV @JerryDunleavy. Here are the results: Men-28/34/29/10; women-25/23/35/18; Republicans-4/60/29/8; Democrats-63/8/29/10; Independents-19/25/35/20; and Overall-26/28/32/14.

“If anything, this gives America a taste of what to expect if Democrats take over Congress, especially the Senate. It wouldn’t just be obstruction of the Trump agenda and resistance, it would be shameless political stunts and character assassinations.” The Federalist

“No big deal: Just the president telling the FBI to ignore an allegation of sexual assault,” Tweeted CCN’s Chris Cillizza @CillizzaCNN. To which Bill Clinton rape victim Juanita Broaddrick responded @atensnut, “I know that feeling.”

“Hi ladies, I’m Holten class of 1991 and an investigative producer/reporter for ABC National News. I would really appreciate any leads on Kavanaugh. The truth will emerge,” wrote Lauren Pearle, lauren.pearle@abc.com.

THEN THERE WAS THIS – “There’s more evidence of Biden groping women than there is of Kavanaugh,” noted Stephen Miller @redsteeze

THE MEDIA, as predicted, has surfaced the tired stories of Judge Clarence Thomas v Anita Hill and Bill Clinton v Paula Jones, in attempt to sink the confirmation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh, while ignoring a story about none other than the sanctimonious Sen. Cory “Spartacus” Booker (D-NJ).

In 1992, Booker admitted in his college newspaper (now on the Internet) that he sexually assaulted an unwilling drunk girl when he was a teenager:

As we fumbled upon the bed, I remember debating my next ‘move’ as if it were a chess game. With the ‘Top Gun’ slogan ringing in my head, I slowly reached for her breast. After having my hand pushed away once, I reached my ‘mark’.”

Our groping ended soon … the next week in school she told me she was drink that night and didn’t really know what she was doing.

“Ever since puberty, I remember receiving messages that sex was a game, a competition. Sexual relations were best achieved through luck, guile, strategy or coercion.

“A friend in high school counseled me on the importance of drinking. With liquor you’ll get to bed quicker … the best thing for that girl would be to be tied down and screwed,” he wrote.

                       THE MIDTERM ELECTIONS

RAISE YOUR HAND if you want Democrats to repeal the tax cut and raise your taxes. (gettyimages.se)

THE BLUE-WAVERS, who have been doing a lot of boasting about making their move in the red states of Texas and Arizona, may be counting their chickens too soon. Republican Pete Flores flipped a Democrat district red for the first time in 139 years as he defeated Rep. Pete Gallego in a runoff election for Texas District 19. He will replace Democrat State Senator Carlos Uresti, who was forced to step down after being sentenced to 12 years in prison on federal fraud and money laundering charges.

ALSO, IN TEXAS – Republican Sen. Ted Cruz now holds a nine-point lead over Democrat challenger Beto O’Rourke

IN ARIZONA, Republican Gov. Doug Ducey has a 48 – 41 lead over Democrat David Garcia, an open borders activist in a new poll by the Phoenix-based Orbital poll. Recently it was learned that Garcia, who claims to be an educator, taught only three classes this year, and only one in person, earning him $30,000 more than the average teacher salary in Arizona this year. Leftist funders Tom Steyer and George Soros recently dumped another $600,000 into his campaign.

I’m counting on my Arizona conservative subscribers to reelect Ducey for governor and support Republican stalwart Martha McSally over the left-leaning Kyrsten Sinema.

IN MISSOURI, where Donald Trump garnered an 18-point win over Hillary Clinton in 2016, the spotlight is on the senatorial race, where Democrat incumbent Claire McCaskill is one of the vulnerable Dem senators in the midterms.

While McCaskill called the charge levelled at Judge Kavanaugh “troubling,” she plans to vote against his confirmation because of his positions on campaign donations and executive power. “McCaskill is betting that Kavanaugh is so unpopular in Missouri she will gain votes by opposing him,” PJ Media reports

To my Missouri subscribers: Support Josh Hawley over McCaskill.

Sounds like the bet anti-Trumpers are making. All you have to do is oppose the president and your chances of winning are enhanced.

ANOTHER HILLARY CLINTON GAFFE – “President Trump will wholesale fire people … if Democrats don’t check his power by winning a majority of seats in the House or Senate in the November elections,” she told MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow.

Clinton still doesn’t recognize that Trump’s pledge to drain the swamp was one of the reasons he won. They continue to tell us ‘she’s so smart.’  Really?

VOTERS NEED TO KNOW that President Trump’s pledge to do away with a number of federal regulations has saved taxpayers $1.3 billion this year, according to the American Action Forum, double the goal he originally set. When red tape is cut for business, they hire more employees and increase wages.

EARLY AND ABSENTEE VOTERS: Don’t’ go weak-kneed … vote Republican.

                      DOCUMENT DECLASSIFICATION

WE ARE TOLD that the Justice Department, FBI and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence are going through a methodical review of the documents President Trump has ordered declassified, but a timeline for their release could not be made.

The documents will surely identify and embarrass many Obama holdovers who have been obstructing the Trump agenda since his inauguration.

In case you missed it, former CIA Director and Deep State activist John Brennan, appearing on MSNBC shamefully called on “individuals of conscience” to stymie progress on the declassification.

What happened to patriotism and country first?

May God bless the United States of America.
