Trump on the big stage while Dems grovel … Dems amnesty plan doomed … Minneapolis struggles with Somali community … letter to editor on target … Dem moderates booed … Swalwell stoops … an offer to Hillary … and something to ponder

Here are my observations and opinions on my selected news of the day.

THE SMALL-THINKING, OBLIVIOUS DEMOCRATS – Do they not realize how small they appear, talking about impeachment and censure of the president, and holding Attorney General Barr and Trump attorney McGahn in contempt, while the president and first lady receive warm welcomes abroad as they represent America?

In a matter of days, President Trump and the First Lady have been greeted in Japan’s Imperial Palace by Emperor Naruhito and Prime Minister Abe, followed by a warm greeting by Queen Elizabeth in Buckingham Palace during a visit to the UK that included an elaborate state dinner.

During their UK visit, they were also greeted warmly at Westminster Abbey for a grand tour and a visit to Churchill’s War Rooms following a farewell meeting with Prime Minister May and a group of British and U.S. business men and women.

They will also visit Portsmouth, a strategic city leading to the D-Day invasion, before participating in the 75th Anniversary of D-Day in Normandy on June 6, 2019.

Prior to his departure from the U.S., to the dismay of many, the president threatened Mexico with tariffs if they didn’t step up and seriously cooperate with us in stopping the influx of immigrants at our southern border. A move that caused Mexican authorities to quickly request mediation. Those critical of this move refuse to admit there’s a crisis on the border, and have exhibited an unwillingness to protect our sovereignty.

Don’t be surprised if the president likes what he hears from the Mexican contingent, and postpones the tariffs as long as he sees proof of their commitment to help us on the border.

GUESS WHAT ELSE THE DEMS PLANNING? – Another foolish bill that will surely be dead on arrival in the Senate – the American Dream and Promise Act (H.R. 6) – to grant protection from deportation and a path to permanent residency for millions of illegal immigrants.

The act would extend permanent legal status and eventually a path to citizenship to up to 2.5 million currently resident illegal immigrants to be drawn from DACA and other deferred departure programs. If enacted, it would be the largest amnesty in our history.

There’s no money in the bill to reduce future illegal immigration, especially considering the current humanitarian crisis on the border. Surprise!

CHAIN MIGRATION AT ITS WORST– In an American Thinker piece, “Somalis have Changed Minneapolis,” noting a series of incidents involving Somali gangs mid-May, along with a chronicle of activities over the past few years, writer Sunny Lohman reminds readers of its origins.

“Everyone not lying to themselves predicted when the federal government under Bill Clinton – aided and abetted by Lutheran Social Services, Catholic Charities and World Relief Minnesota – plopped 30,000 Somali’s down in the midst of the kind, virtue-signaling, eager-to-help Midwesterners of Minneapolis (of which I am one) that it would lead to some grave consequences for our community. Now, due to continuing refugee placements, as well as chain migration, there an estimated 80,000 living in the Twin Cities metro area, Lohman writes.

IN A LETTER TO THE LEFT-LEANING ARIZONA REPUBLIC, Glendale resident Ken Doerfler cited liberal columnist Laurie Roberts for her continual complaint that Sen. Martha McSally votes in lockstep with President Trump, “while at the same time she seems to not notice how every single Democrat senator and member of Congress votes in lockstep against whatever the president tries to put forth.”

MEANWHILE – Arizona’s Democrat Senator Kyrsten Sinema, in an e-mail to supporters, expressed her desire for McSally’s seat to be won by “someone who shares our values.”

That would be Medicare-for-all, college debt forgiveness, free college, universal basic income, gun control and open borders. Democrats, with the aid of the Arizona Republic, are endorsing the candidacy of Mark Kelly, husband of former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, who has had his help promoting her gun control effort.

WHILE SO-CALLED MODERATE Democrat presidential candidates John Hickenlooper and John Delaney were booed heavily at the California Democrat Convention last weekend for their statements in opposition to socialism, another moderate, Apology Joe Biden, was nowhere in sight. However, you can bet he was taking notes on his party’s move to the far left. Sooner or later he’s going to have to face the leftist mob. Let’s face it, they can’t handle the truth.

Meanwhile, Biden’s past statements are beginning to surface, including his 1987 run for president claim that he marched in the Civil Rights Movement, something he never did.  And yesterday, the revelation that he plagiarized material for his green climate change plan.

DEMOCRAT ERIC SWALWELL, who I believe honestly thought he would be considered a top candidate for president with his network on-air time declaring President Trump guilty of collusion, has stooped lower than Beto O’Rourke to gain attention.

Remember when O’Rourke took you into the dentist chair while he was having his teeth cleaned? Swalwell’s cringeworthy video shows him changing his daughter’s diaper and tossing it into a container while the graphic states “I’m ready to clean S#*% up!   If Eric can clean S#*% at home … he can clean it up in Washington. Donate $1 today.”

Swalwell is among the candidates seeking funds to qualify for the Democrat debates.

IN RESPONSE TO BLOOMBERG’S TWEET @business, that “Hillary Clinton and her daughter Chelsea are forming a TV and film production company,” Juanita Broaddrick wrote @atensnut: “Hey Hillary, call me. I wrote a book about a Rapist who became President and his enabling, loser wife. It would a great movie.”

SOMETHING TO PONDER – A friend in Kansas e-mailed something he attributed to a Montana rancher, and an Arizona friend sent me the same piece attributed to a South Dakota rancher, but I have determined it was first published in a New York Times column. Enjoy this observation from the Mueller report and the Democrats’ ongoing efforts to nail the president:

“While we recognize that the subject did not actually steal any horses, he is obviously guilty of trying to resist being hanged for it.

May God bless the United States of America.
