Dems talk, but have no solutions … radical Dem candidates scare Never Trumpers … we pay off college loans in Sanders plan … president’s unique Middle East peace plan … and Warren wants more reparations paid

Here are my observations and opinions on my selected news of the day.

DEMOCRATS TALK ABOUT IMMIGRATION but refuse to support proposals by the Trump administration, while offering no solutions of their own for the record.

Democrat presidential candidates Harris, Gillibrand, Klobuchar and Buttigieg have talked about comprehensive immigration reform, but fail to elaborate on what that means while they bash the president’s “inhumane” treatment of those who have invaded our border.

Bernie Sanders, the faux Democrat, has talked about giving DACA individuals legal status and a path to citizenship for illegals.

Democrats want to be seen as the party of compassion, but they are unwilling to set aside their disdain for the president and put forth a plan for the good of the country. That could be seen as a victory for the president as he seeks reelection.

Were you aware that $2.5 billion was spent building and maintaining more than 600 miles of “immoral” border wall and other barriers between 2007 and 2015; much of it during Nancy Pelosi’s speakership?

And while President Obama ordered “cages” to house illegals awaiting processing, he was also deporting others at higher annual pace than the level deported so far by the Trump administration.

AN INTERESTING THOUGHT was surfaced by columnist Robert Robb in his Arizona Republic piece, commenting that Democrat presidential candidates, with their radical leftist and socialist ideas, are scaring off Never Trumpers.

Robb describes Never Trumpers as Republicans and Independents who are center to center right voters who generally find Trump’s behavior abhorrent and find his policy-making impulsive and erratic.

Even those who might have trouble voting simply for anyone-but-Trump-within limits should understand that getting rid of Trump means at least four years of liberal governance.

Can they be that hard over against Trump? That they would be willing to sacrifice the economy of growth, dramatic job creation and wage improvement to someone wanting to raise taxes and offer health insurance and education benefits with unrealistic affordability schemes?

BERNIE SANDERS says Wall Street will pay for his plan to forgive college debt. That sounds great to millennials who probably view Wall Street as a monolithic imaginary money tree, however, those of us taxpayers who trade will be the ones paying off the loans. Look at it as if the government taxed every ATM withdrawal you make.

TRUMP OFFERING UNIQUE PLAN FOR MIDDLE EAST – It’s what you might expect from Donald Trump, who “does not feel tied down by the unsuccessful formulas of the past,” says Jon Lerner, Hudson Institute Senior Fellow.

The president tapped his son-in-law Jared Kushner to help develop a plan to end the decades long conflict and create conditions for a better life for Palestinians and Israelis. The plan, to be rolled out at a conference in Bahrain this week, contains specific and realistic projects that could double Palestinian GDP, create a million new jobs in Gaza and the West Bank, and cut poverty in half, according to Lerner.

“If Palestinian leaders were to accept – or at least sit down and negotiate- about the proposed peace plan, they could quickly improve the quality of life of their people,” remarked Alan Dershowitz, professor emeritus of Harvard Law School. “This could lead to a two-state solution that could be a win-win for all sides.”

WACKO ELIZABETH WARREN, one of the Democrat presidential candidates who appeared at Al Sharpton’s National Action Network gathering to excitedly promise to support reparations legislation for blacks, has now revealed that she will support reparations for gay and lesbian couples.

“The federal government forced legally married same-sex couples in Massachusetts to file as individuals and pay more taxes for almost a decade,” Warren explained. “We need to call out that discrimination and to make it right (in her opinion) – Congress should pass the Refund Equality Act immediately.”

The act would retroactively apply “married-filing jointly” status – along with refunding the amount overpaid – to same-sex couples who were married in states where unions were recognized prior to the federal government doing so in 2013.

Incidentally, Warren has also floated the idea of reparations for Native Americans.

May God bless the United States of America.
