Here are my observations and opinions of my selected news of the day.
DEMOCRATS ARE BLOWING THEIR CHANCES at coming off “less crazy” than President Trump ahead of the 2020 election, according to late-night host Bill Maher.
Yesterday, I commented that Maher was hoping for a recession as a means to defeat Trump in 2020. Now he says, “All the Democrats have to do to win is to come off less crazy than Trump. And, of course, they’re blowing it. Coming across as unserious people who are going to take away all your money so migrants from Honduras can go the college for free and get a major in ‘America sucks.’”
NOW GET THIS IDIOCY – Maher says, “The voters that Democrats need to win -moderates who have Trump fatigue – will vote against the good economy, I think, just to get back to normalcy, but they won’t trade it away for left-wing extremism.”
Voters will not vote against a good economy, and history says it’s difficult to beat an incumbent in a good economy. And, “Just to get back to normalcy” … is that what you called the sluggish Obama economy?
At least Maher is correct about the left-wing extremists in the Democrat primary.
While Maher is referring to the left-wing extremism within their socialist ideology of open borders and “free stuff,” America’s voters are witnessing a radical extremism in their insults of the president as a racist and white supremacist.
DEMOCRATS ARE CRITICAL of the president when he doesn’t speak out against hatred, bigotry and white supremacy. However, when he did so from the White House Monday morning, saying, “In one voice our nation must condemn racism, bigotry, and white supremacy,” and “hatred warps the mind, ravages the heart, and devours the soul,” five Democrat presidential candidates – Biden, Harris, Klobuchar, Castro and Sanders – continued their shameful, sick name-calling against the president while participating in a Sand Diego Hispanic conference.
THE LEFT is so pathetic. Yesterday I wrote of David Rothkopf’s nasty response to Ivanka Trump’s message of sympathy over the El Paso shooting.
When Sen. Mitt Romney tweeted @SenatorRomney: “Our hearts go out to the victims, families, and loved ones of the tragic shooting in El Paso. From what dark and repugnant corner of them comes such senseless and vile brutality?” leftist Jeff Jarvis responded @jeffjarvis: “From your party.” So much for civility.
MEDIA SO QUICK to jump on a President Trump claim. When the president recalled that he was at Ground Zero after the 9/11 terror attacks, MSNBC producer Kyle Griffin claimed there was no evidence of Trump every being there after the attack.
However, a video has surfaced showing Donald Trump being interviewed on NBC, the mother network to MSNBC. No apology has been noted, of course.
May God continue to bless the United States of America.
