Biden suggests blacks for Trump ‘ain’t black’ … the end of Biden? … not likely … Mark Cuban, big talker … McEnany nails the media again … and Grenell does his job in acting role

Here are my observations and opinions from my select news of the day.

POOR JOE BIDEN, he opened his mouth and said something he actually believed, and now his supporters want him to apologize.  It’s too late.

CHARLAMAGNE THA GOD (from screengrab)

During his appearance on WGN’s popular show, “The Breakfast Club,” he told the host, Charlamagne Tha God, (sic), “If you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black.”

Since I heard about his serious gaffe this morning, I have been thinking what must have been crossing the mind of South Carolina’s Rep. James Clyburn, the highest ranking African-American in Congress, who endorsed him and was said be responsible for his becoming the presumptive Dem candidate.

“I know Joe Biden,” Clyburn said at the endorsement. “I know his character, his heart and his record.”

IF YOU THINK THIS IS THE END of Joe Biden, not so fast.  In 2007, talking about then Sen. Barack Obama, Biden said “you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy,” as if to say most blacks aren’t, and he was still selected to be Obama’s running mate.

ATTENTION FOX NEWS CHANNEL, more precisely, Neil Cavuto and Sean Hannity. Please, no more interviews with Mark Cuban, the self-appointed know it all, who is quick to criticize President Trump at every turn.

When the billionaire owner of the Dallas Mavericks and star of CNBC’s Shark Tank is asked about his possible candidacy for the presidency, Cuban always gets cagey.

In Cuban’s latest appearance on Hannity, he assailed Trump for playing the victim card, ‘The Dems are out to get me, the media is out to get me.’

“He’s the most powerful man in the world.  Be powerful, be a leader, set an example.  He’s supposed to be the world’s best counterpunch, he hasn’t been able to knock anybody out, he just plays the victim.”  Of course, Cuban was unable to name someone “in the game” who is stronger.

It cannot be denied, President Trump has changed our foreign policy for the better. America First is a winning strategy.  His tax policy, combined with his regulation-killing effort has helped make America great again.

Trump’s success in transforming the federal judiciary cannot be overlooked. He has had two Supreme Court judges and nearly 200 other judges confirmed, who will honor the Constitution and not legislate from the bench.

Two other billionaires who thought they had the moxie to be president – Michael Bloomberg and Tom Steyer – were also critics of the president who couldn’t gain traction among voters.  As arrogant as Cuban is, he knows that he, too, would fail as a presidential candidate, but he continues to “keep the door open.”

President Trump is now fighting the virus, an invisible enemy, as a wartime president.  If there was ever a time when he could claim to be a victim, it would be when he was forced to abruptly shut down the robust economy he helped create.  However, he has remained confident in America’s return to greatness, as he promotes the reopening of the economy, while pushing hard for expediting development of a vaccine.

For those of you unfamiliar with Cuban.  Over the years, he has been the “victim” of fines of more than $3 million by the NBA, most recently in March, $500,000 for public criticism and detrimental conduct.

Let Fox know that you are not impressed with Cuban.

ONE OF THE BEST LINES from White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany Friday came after the media, one after another, questioned the president’s authority to ask the states to open houses of religion.

“Boy,” she exclaimed, “it’s interesting to be in a room that desperately wants to see these churches stay closed.”

“I object to that,” shouted ReutersJeff Mason. “I go to church.  I’m dying to go to church.  The question that we’re asking you … is it safe?  If it’s not safe, is the president trying to encourage that?

McEnany calmly responded that if his church practices the new guidelines for house of worship to open, he should be safe.

As she closed the briefing, McEnany read several questions that the media – if they were doing their job – would ask of those members of the Obama administration, mentioned in the recent Flynn document dump.  Of course, they won’t.

SPEAKING OF THOSE DOCUMENTS, the man we can credit for declassifying the unmasking evidence that revealed the Obama administration people, Richard Grenell, who was serving as acting director of national intelligence, “deserves the nation’s gratitude,” so wrote Gina Loudon, Ph. D, a best-selling author and national co-chair of Women for Trump, writing in RealClear Politics.

Grenell, who had been the U.S. envoy to Berlin since May of 2018, was appointed by Trump to replace Joseph Maguire, who had been acting DNI since replacing Dan Coats.  Maguire drew the ire of the administration when he testified that he believed the Ukraine whistleblower did the right thing.

Although Grenell’s appointment was intended to be temporary, he did not take the job lightly, unlike one might be expected of a typical bureaucrat.  He immediately took steps to enhance transparency and accountability while implementing measures to protect our intelligence agencies from future political interference.

Democrats have long disliked Grenell, who they saw as someone loyal to Trump.  Soon after taking the acting position, Adam Schiff expressed concern over the change he was making “without consulting and seeking authorization from Congress.”

Meanwhile, Grenell is expected to return to Germany, where his performance has been recognized as extremely helpful to the Trump administration.

Former Rep. James Ratcliffe, another thorn in the side of Democrats, was recently confirmed to be the next DNI.

MY LAUGH FOR THE DAY – As a former tennis player, I was interested in the guidelines published by the USTA for playing during the reopening of activities.

After reading the single-spaced document covering Before You Play, Preparing to Play, When Playing, After Playing, and the Use of Four or Six Balls, I came to the conclusion that if I was still playing the game, I could not follow the guidelines.

Under the heading, When Playing, here’s one of the guidelines: “Use your racquet/foot to pick up balls and hit them to your opponent.  Avoid using your hands to pick up balls.”

How might one serve the ball without handling it?

May God continue to bless the United States of America.
