Here are my observations and opinions from my select news of the day.
NON-PRESIDENTIAL SURVEYS – New surveys, seeking opinions of the Black Lives Matter movement have resulted in some interesting results, revealing that Americans are growing weary of the rioting and the charges that our nation is guilty of systemic racism.
On June 10, 2020, Rasmussen Reports found that 62 percent of likely U.S. voters had a favorable opinion of the movement, while 31 percent viewed the organization unfavorably.
One week later, Rasmussen found that 59 percent of likely U.S. voters believed all lives matter when asked if statements of the BLM were close to their own.
A June poll by Monmouth University found that 70 percent of respondents thought that the movement had not improved race relations, with 39 percent saying BLM has made race relations worse.
Incredibly, when asked about the justification of the protests, respondents to the Monmouth poll said they were inclined to say that the anger of the protestors – regardless of the actual actions taken – was fully justified.
More astounding is the revelation from a June Pew Research Center poll that 46 percent of those who said they attended a BLM protest are white, and just 17 percent of blacks said they attended a protest focused on race or racial equality in the last month.
Not surprising, 80 percent of those who say they participated in a BLM protest recently identify with or lean toward the Democrat Party, while just 17 percent said they were Republicans.
“Of the six percent of American adults who said they attended a protest or rally the last month,” Pew found that most of the actual marchers were likely to be white, live in an urban area, and vote for, or support the Democrat Party.
Pew reported white flight from the Democrat Party occurred almost entirely among white people without a college degree. However, Free West Media reported on June 27, 2020 that protest participants were primarily “young white Americans with college degrees.”
Further evidence of the indoctrination of those “skulls full of mush,” by radical professors.
MEANWHILE, a Gallup poll shows that the confidence and respect of law enforcement among Americans is at its highest level in almost 50 years. Seventy-six percent of Americans in a poll released Monday have a “great deal” of respect for police in their area.
LEAVE IT TO THE NFL to continue to promote itself as a platform for “social justice initiatives,” saying “as we continue to amplify and elevate the NFL’s ongoing and long-term commitment to social justice, we will be incorporating several prominent elements on the field, into all broadcasts and across league and club platforms to begin with this NFL season and beyond.”
Further, the NFL believe that blacks are being systematically oppressed, and have signed-on the Black Lives Matter movement, despite the fact that BLM is openly linked with anti-American, Marxist ideology with anti-police leanings.
The NFL has long forbidden players from affixing symbols, names or initials to their helmets, shoes and uniforms, players will now be permitted to put names or initials of racial victims on their helmets. And as they bow to BLM, the slogans “End Racism” and “It Takes All of Us” will appear in large letters in the end zones
UNKNOWNS ON THE LEFT – We’re learning more about those “big tech” companies attempting to control our thoughts in the social media, but you need to be aware of those doing the same on the Internet.
While researching the effect of Black Lives Matter on Americans, I came across jacobinmag.com, a site that claims to be the “leading voice of the American left, offering socialist perspectives on politics, economics and culture.”
“The movement for racial justice is more popular than Trump’s presidency,” Luke Savage wrote, incorrectly comparing the Rasmussen Reports poll on the BLM with Rasmussen’s favorability ranking of the president, separate polls taken at different times. Rasmussen recently reported that the president’s favorability/unfavorable numbers are in the same range as former presidents Bush and Obama at this point in time of their presidencies.
With its agenda of attacking the Trump administration, Savage writes of “protests in all fifty states (that) continue to rile America’s political establishment, a new poll suggests the growing mobilizations against police brutality and structural racism may also be aiding a titanic shift in public opinion.”
You should be aware, that in other pieces written by Savage, he referred to Rep. Rashida Tlaib as “one of Congress’ most unapologetic left-wing members,” and calling Ihan Omar, one who “stands out for her political courage and determination.”
APPROPRIATE TIMING – With the surveys and polls in the news – political and otherwise – I thought I would remind you of the importance in the wording of polls. Is the pollster seeking responses favoring his or her agenda?
With that in mind, here’s an excerpt from the high school text, “A People’s History of the United States,” on the subject of “welfare:”
“A New York Times/CBS News poll conducted in 1992 showed that public opinion on welfare changed depending on how the question was worded. If the word ‘welfare’ was used, 44 percent of those questioned said too much was being spent on welfare (while 50 percent said either the right amount was being spent, or that too little was being spent.
“But when the question was about “assistance to the poor,” only 13 percent thought too much was being spent, and 64 percent thought too little was being spent.”
Did you note above that on June 10, 2020 62 percent had a favorable opinion of BLM, yet one week later, 59 percent believed all lives matter?
May God continue to bless the United States of America.
