HOW ABOUT THIS ADVICE to the nation’s governors from Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in a Tweet @AOC: “It’s vital that Governors maintain restrictions on businesses until after the November Election because economic recovery will help Trump be re-elected. A few business closures or job losses is a small price to pay to be free from his presidency.”
She has since deleted it, but we have to share this to show how the radical left is operating.
I’VE BEEN TELLING YOU about the demise of newspapers, so the latest report from the Pew Research Center isn’t surprising. Pew’s latest survey found that just three percent of adults get their political news from print sources.
I continue to receive the Wall Street Journal in print, and I reluctantly subscribe to my local paper because I need to know what the left is writing.
Pew reports that “those who rely on social media for news are less likely to get the facts right about the virus and politics and more likely to hear unproven claims.”
“Those who use print, radio or a news website (and kramerontheright.com) have a “high” to “middle” knowledge of political news,” according to Pew, “(while) 57 percent who get their information on social websites have “low political knowledge.”
ONE OF THOSE PAPERS getting thinner each day, the left-leaning Arizona Republic, is represented by the lightweight editorial board columnist Elvia Diaz, who claims to be a registered Independent. She may be, but she certainly votes Democrat.
In her Friday column, “GOP courts independents; why don’t Dems?” she’s actually surprised that she hasn’t been called by the Democrats. “But wait,” she’s beginning to understand, “My race and where I live might explain why Democrats have ignored me as a voter. I’m a Latina who lives in a predominantly Hispanic and African-American area that leans Democrat.”
Well, DUH! Surely, she has heard how Democrats take the minority vote for granted.
Meanwhile, she has been on the receiving end of calls, texts and other communications from the Republican Party and GOP candidates asking for her vote.
She just received a wake-up call about how the Dems are taking her vote for granted, and what does she do – she tells them to “step up if they want to win over Independents and minorities in November.”
Someone seeks to take advantage of your personal vote, and you turn your cheek? How sad.
“It tells me Republicans will fight for my vote -every vote – whether they care about me or not,” she cynically writes.
YOU WOULD BE WRONG if you thought Twitter is changing the way the average American is getting factual information. Pew says that about 22 percent of adults use Twitter, but 80 percent of all Tweets come from the top 10 percent of Tweeters. “Meaning that just two percent of Americans are contributing to a majority of the site’s dialogue,” according to the New York Post.
The average Tweeter user is 40 years of age, with a college degree, a Democrat, and a woman according to Pew. Tweeters are more likely than other Americans to say that immigrants make the country stronger, black people are treated less fairly than white people, and that there are societal barriers that make it more difficult for women to get ahead.
THE TELEVISION NETWORKS, ABC, CBS, and NBC, aren’t letting up with their attacks on President Trump. In a study by the Media Research Center, March 4 to May 31, they broadcast 445 negative statements about Trump and just 51 negative comments about Joe Biden.
Is it any wonder why those polls register low “favorability” scores for the president? President Trump, who understands the media better than most people, humorously pointed out recently that Dr. Anthony Fauci gets higher approval marks than he does.
“He’s working with our administration, and for the most part, we’ve done pretty much what he and others, Dr. Birx and others who are terrific, recommended. And he’s got this high approval rating, so why don’t I have a high approval rating with respect, and the administration, with respect to the virus?
“So it’s sort of curious … a man works for us, and yet they’re highly thought of and nobody likes me. It can only be my personality … I’m Trump” he added.
President Trump cannot win popularity surveys, but it’s a victory at the polls in November is the one that counts.
May God continue to bless the United States of America.
