Pelosi stoops lower … did Joe write, Dear Hillary? … the class of our first lady … are those suburban women listening? … Midler, Lockhart disappoint … Trump up in Zogby poll … but betting is still on Biden in the UK

JUST WHEN YOU THINK the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, couldn’t stoop any lower, she accused her political opponents, specifically the resident of 1600 Pennsylvania and Congressional Republicans, of being “domestic enemies” simply because they oppose the uncertainty of universal mail-in voting.

This, from the woman who turned a blind eye to the corruption within the Obama-Biden administration Justice Department and the FBI from the day Donald Trump was inaugurated; permitting Representatives Adam Schiff and Jerold Nadler to carry out a vendetta against the president from within despite the fact that the Mueller Report  cleared him of collusion with Russia.

Republicans have long sought to pass legislation to require voter-ID to assure that the person voting is legitimate.  Democrats consider this unfair to minorities, essentially stating that they are too ignorant to avail themselves of a photo ID. Since Democrats oppose that, should they be called “domestic enemies?”

HILLARY’S ADVICE TO BIDEN – It may be unsolicited, but don’t kid yourself, the sore loser of 2016 continues to wield power in the party.  “Joe Biden should not concede under any circumstance,” she said in an interview this week.

Surely, you remember how Hillary Clinton, during the 2016 debates, was “horrified” when candidate Donald Trump said, “I will look at it at the time,” when asked if he would accept the outcome of the election.  “I’m appalled,” she added.  He was merely keeping his options open should there be another Gore-Bush fiasco.

When the unbelievable happened, we also remember her refusal to meet with her tearful devoted supporters after her loss, sending John Podesta at 10:30 p.m. to speak to them with the feeble reasoning that “several states were too close to call.”  It wasn’t until 2:30 a.m. the following day that she called Trump to concede.  It still sticks in her craw.

YOU HEARD FIRST LADY Melania Trump’s speech, so I don’t intend to repeat much of it here, except to applaud her for two subjects she touched on that I thought were memorable.

Unlike the two former First Lady’s, Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama, who couldn’t resists attacking the Trump administration, First Lady Melania Trump resisted commenting on the Obama-Biden administration with this classy statement:

“I do not want to use this precious time attacking the other side, because we saw last week that kind of talk only serves to divide the country further.”

In addition, while poignantly recalling her trip to Ghana and the African continent,  I thought the manner in which she addressed her thoughts on race … simple, yet compelling:

“Like all of you, I have reflected on the racial unrest in our country.  It is a harsh reality that we are not proud of parts of our history.  I encourage people to focus on our future while still learning from our past.  We must remember that today we are all one community comprised of many races, religions and ethnicities.”

IF THOSE SUBURBAN WOMEN, who it is reported oppose the reelection of President Trump, weren’t impressed with the first lady’s message, and those of other impressive women we have heard from so far, I must admit my disappointment in their intelligence.

I often hear how women are critical of Trump’s rhetoric, his character and behavior, and I wonder if those women were paying attention when she said:

“We all know Donald Trump makes no secret about how he feels about things. Whether you like it or not, you always know what he’s thinking.  And that is because he is a person who loves this country and its people and wants to continue to make it better.

“Donald wants to keep your family safe; he wants to help your family succeed.  He wants nothing more than for the country to prosper and he doesn’t waste time playing politics.

“He welcomes differing points of view and encourages thinking outside of the box.

“Donald is a husband who supports me in all that I do.  He has built an administration with an unprecedented number of women in leadership roles and has fostered an environment where the American people are always the priority.

I wonder if those suburban women – any women – who have complained about the lack of communication resulting in the failure of marriages, wouldn’t prefer a straight-talking husband.

OR WILL THEY CONTINUE TO IDOLIZE the likes of Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton or Bette Midler, whose pathetic response to the first lady’s speech was: “Oh, God. She still can’t speak English.”  Shameful.

JOE LOCKHART, long forgotten after serving as press secretary for President Clinton, still seeking illusive relevance at CNN, used his Twitter account to attack young Nicholas Sandmann, the Kentucky student who successfully sued the network; a scheduled speaker on Day 2 of the RNC convention. So he wrote @joelockhart: “I’m watching tonight because its important, but I don’t have to watch this snot nose entitled kid from Kentucky.”

ZOGBY ANALYTICS reports that a backlash by blacks, independents and urban dwellers, shocked by the Black Lives Matter movement violence in some cities, resulted in a boost in President Trump’s approval, a new high, at 52 percent.

Zogby reports that 36 percent of blacks approve of the president, as do 37 percent of Hispanics and 35 percent of Asians.

Approval among Independents went up to 44 percent, and “intriguingly” said Zogby, 23 percent of Democrats approve of Trump.

Interestingly, there was no convention bounce for Joe Biden after the DNC convention, according to the poll released by Reuters/Ipsos.

THE BETTING IS STILL ON BIDEN according to Smarkets, a British betting site, even though he didn’t get the expected convention bounce.  Biden currently has a 56 percent chance of winning the presidency despite a drop of 13 points.

REMEMBER – Continue to take all polls with a grain of salt.

May God continue to bless the United States of America.
