SPECIAL: The Great Ginsburg Gambit – Made for Trump

NOW WE KNOW THE MEANING OF “PROGRESSIVE” – Within hours of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s passing, progressives (aka liberals, left-wingers, the mob) were out with threats against Republicans should they dare nominate a replacement prior to Election Day.

And we see evidence that the mainstream media are, as President Trump declared early last year, “the enemy of the people.”

At first, they reported on the “peaceful protestors,” but now they’re advocating violence.

“For weeks now, the media had already been priming for potential violence over the outcome of the November election in the event that Trump emerges with a triumphant second term win,” writes Tristan Justice in The Federalist.

“If Mitch McConnell jams someone through, which he will, there will be riots,” threatened Laura Bassett hopefully.  She writes regularly for the Washington Post and GQ magazine.

“We’re shutting this country down if Trump and McConnell try to ram through and appointment before the election,” warned Writers Guild of American President Beau Willimon.

“If they even TRY to replace RBG we burn the f**king thing down,” tweeted the Iranian-born liberal writer Reza Aslan @rezaaslan.

“If Trump wins, Democrats are going to blow the country up for a second time,” writes Shadi Hamid, contributor to The Atlantic.  I find it interesting that he acknowledges that Democrats were behind the 20-city riots that did some $2 billion in damage.

Sen. Ted Cruz addressed the Washington Post’s fabricated concern over a constitutional crisis saying, says, “President Trump needs to nominate a successor next week, and that the Senate should confirm that choice or the country risks a constitutional crisis.

“A 4-4 court that is equally divided cannot decide anything,” he said. “And I think we risk a constitutional crisis if we do not have a nine-justice Supreme Court, particularly where there is such a risk of a contested election.”  He added that the Senate “should do our job and protect the country from the constitutional crisis that could result,” reminding us of the Court’s role in Bush vs. Gore.

Minority Leader Sen. Chuck Schumer said, “The American people should have a voice in the selection of their next Supreme Court Justice, therefore, this vacancy should not be filled until we have a new president.”

Of course, he understands what this does to his campaign to turn the Senate Democrat.

NOT SURPRISING – “Let me be clear,” wrote Joe Biden @JoeBiden: “The voters should pick a president, and that president should select a successor to Justice Ginsburg.”

Ponder this, from columnist Jon Gabriel @exjon: “Progressives think they have a living constitution but are originalists when it comes to the Divinely Inspired McConnell Rule of 2016.”

WHILE RECALLING THE VITRIOL of Kamala Harris and other women on the Senate Judiciary Committee, during the hearings of Justice Kavanaugh, with the passing of Justice Ginsburg, I would hope that they could learn something from her.

During an hour-long Q&A with Duke Law professor Neil Seigel, one of her former clerks, speaking of Justices Gorsuch and Kavanaugh, she said, “I can say that my two newest colleagues are very decent and very smart individuals.”

On a panel at Georgetown, she remarked that Justice Kavanaugh’s entire staff is made up of women, marking the first time in the history of the United States that there have been more women clerking at the court than men.

UNFORTUNATELY, Justice Ginsburg didn’t restrain herself and observe the decorum of the Court when she told the Associated Press in 2016 that she didn’t even want to “think about” the prospect of a Trump presidency.  She later told the New York Times that a Trump presidency was the kind of thing that would have driven her late husband to say they should move to New Zealand.

While such remarks are considered improper under the Code of Conduct for U.S. Judges, which prohibits judges from endorsing or opposing a candidate for office, the media was happy to write off her comments.

Now NPR would have us believe that the justice’s granddaughter told them that Justice Ginsburg’s most “fervent wish is that I will not be replaced until a new president is installed.”

MEANWHILE, PRESIDENT TRUMP released a lengthy statement on the passing of Ginsburg that was highly complimentary of her 27 years on the Court, recognizing her “brilliant mind and her power dissents.”  He offered the country’s thoughts and prayers to the Ginsburg family, adding “may her memory be a great and magnificent blessing to the world.”

Kramerontheright hopes that President Trump, after a reasonable mourning period, will ignore the advice of those “progressives” in Congress and with the media, and proudly announce his nomination to the Supreme Court.

AIR FORCE BIRTHDAY – Due to my irregular publishing dates, I am late in acknowledging the 73rd Anniversary of the date that the Air Force became an independent branch of the military – September 18, 1947 – but as a proud eight-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force, I simply couldn’t let it pass without honoring the date.

May God continue to bless the United States of America.
