A Role for Trump Not Out of the Question

Commentary

TRUMP SHOULD PLAY A BIG ROLE in the Republican Party, according to a recently revealed Morning Consult Political lntelligence tracking of the former president’s intraparty favorability rating conducted among 4,296 Republican voters between January 23 and 25, 2021.

The tracking found that 81 percent hold positive views of the Trump, including 54 percent who do so strongly.

AS PRESIDENT TRUMP occasionally mentioned, it was the failed Obama presidency that resulted in his win in 2016.  He had tapped into the discontent of the voters.

We are already seeing signs that Joe Biden’s presidency will again stir Trump supporters.

Biden’s callous cancellation of the Keystone XL pipeline, and his ban on oil and gas development on federal waters and land, are expected to kill more than a million well-paid American jobs.  In the process our energy costs are expected to rise.

Couple that with his decision to hike the minimum wage to $15 per hour and we will see additional job losses.

As we have now moved through the week-long White House targets of perceived concern in the “new Obama era” – Covid19, racial equity, gender identity, buy American, climate change, and immigration – all being advanced with little concern for the main goal of unity, our challenge to resist is made easy.

“If you work in fossil fuels – maybe you’re employed on the Keystone XL pipeline – aren’t you grateful that our imminent joblessness is bringing the country together?” wrote Gerard Baker in his Wall Street Journal piece, “America, It’s Time for ‘Unity’ – or Else.”

IF YOU HADN’T HEARD, former President Trump has opened an “Office of the Former President” that will be responsible for managing President Trump’s correspondence, public statements, appearances and official activities to advance the interests of the United States and to carry on the agenda of the Trump administration through advocacy, organizing and public activism.

DURING A MEETING WITH PRESIDENT TRUMP in Mar-a-Lago last Thursday, House Republican leader Kevin McCarthy came away with Trump’s commitment to help elect Republicans in the House and Senate in 2022.

‘PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP DAY’ has been proposed by two Ohio state lawmakers to honor the former president.  “Let’s show the 3,154,834 Ohio voters (a record and historic number of voters for president in Ohio) who cast their vote to reelect Donald J. Trump that we as a legislature recognize the accomplishments of his administration, and that the Ohio House believes it is imperative we set aside a day to celebrate one of the greatest presidents in American history,” wrote Representatives Jon Cross and Reggie Stoltzfus.

The left will surely try to shut down this effort.

                                            Faith of Evangelicals in Trump

“The political and social relationship between the evangelical community and President Donald Trump has to be one of the strangest and most ironic – as well as strong and committed – relationships in presidential history.   The bonds between President Trump and the evangelicals started in 2016, continued through the 2020 election, and in some ways are more fervent and fiercer than ever before.

“During the 2016 election, polls showed that almost 90 percent of evangelicals voted for Trump.  In the 2020 election, that number rose to 95 percent.  If Trump keeps faith with the evangelical community, God only knows if a miracle will happen again in 2024.” – Andrew W. Coy, American Thinker

PARIS ACCORD FLASHBACK – Recognizing that President Trump promised to exit the Accord when he took office, just three days before leaving office in 2017, President Obama transferred a second installment of $500 million to the green climate fund of the Paris Accord, payment on a $3 billion commitment with no end goal in sight.

He drew the funds from the state department budget using his executive powers, thereby bypassing congressional approval. We can only assume that Biden will again tap the state department budget to buy our way back into the Accord.

DEMOCRAT TRUMP HATRED CONTINUES as the Senate impeachment trial remains on schedule.  Why?  They seem to think their effort will keep him from running for office again.  Others are looking at censorship with the same result.

Further evidence that Joe “No Unity” Biden is taking orders from the progressive left mob is clear.  Otherwise, he would have jumped at the suggestion that he could win favor with “the other half” of American voters by stopping the pending impeachment trial.

“His (Biden’s) silent approval of the impeachment effort is proof of establishment control.  The man ran for office on the theme of unifying America.  If he truly believed those words, he would have gotten on TV and urged congress to stop the impeachment because it’s time to heal and unite.” – Jeff Dunetz, The Lid

It’s Our Turn

“Donald Trump fought for us.  Now it’s our turn. Now it’s our fight.  Now it’s our responsibility to save the country.  Who’s with me?” – David Marcus, The Federalist

May God continue to bless the United States of America
