So Ends Another Chapter in the Hatred of President Donald Trump

Commentary

All out of tear-jerker tales of conversations with his daughter about the attack on democracy, the obnoxious Rep. Jamie Raskin, lead House Impeachment Manager, obviously felt the need in his closing to counter the charge by the defense counsel that the trial was the continuation of the opposition’s hatred of Donald Trump.

He insisted the trial wasn’t about Trump. “Everyone knows who he is,” Raskin said, “It’s about who we are,” as he launched into the integrity of Congress. Team member Rep. Joe Neguse attempted to move off the Trump hatred charge by quoting the Rev. Martin Luther King, citing “love.”

However, we know, anyone watching and listening to the Democrat’s chosen words and tone during the trial couldn’t help but come away with the perception that even after his 2020 defeat they wanted to seal his fate as a political figure of consequence. They targeted Trump’s 75 million supporters, too.

Nowhere is that hate greater than that emanating from the office of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.  After the acquittal announcement, she called Republicans who voted not guilty “cowards.”

President Trump’s Statement on His Acquittal

After thanking his team of lawyers, Senators and members of Congress who “stood proudly for the Constitution we all revere, and for the sacred legal principles at the heart of our country,” he again referred to the rule of law, “the indispensable safeguard for our liberties, our rights and our freedoms.”

“It is a sad commentary on our times that one political party in America is given a free pass to denigrate the rule of law, defame law enforcement, cheer mobs, excuse rioters, and transform justice into a tool of political vengeance, and persecute, blacklist, cancel and suppress all people and viewpoints with whom or which they disagree.

“I always have, and always will be a champion for the unwavering rule of law, the heroes of law enforcement, and the right of Americans to peacefully and honorable debate the issues of the day without malice and without hate.”

He again referred to the “greatest witch hunt in the history of our country,” repeating that “no president has ever one through anything like it, and it continues because our opponents cannot forget that almost 75 million people, the highest number every for a sitting president, who voted for us just a few short months ago.”

“I also want to convey my gratitude to the millions of decent, hardworking, law-abiding, God and country loving citizens who have bravely supported these principles in these very difficult and challenging times.”

He concluded by saying that “in the months ahead I have much to share with you, and I look forward to continuing our incredible journey together to achieve American greatness for all of our people.  Together there is nothing we cannot accomplish.”

The Future With Trump from Senator Graham

“I’m going to try and convince him (Trump) that we can’t get there without (him) and that he cannot keep the Trump movement going without the GOP united.

“Trump’s got to work with everybody, you got to put our best team on the field. If it’s about revenge and going after people you don’t like, we’re going to have a problem,” he believes.

MEANWHILE, the Arizona Republic is still promoting the late John McCain for sainthood.

The Republic couldn’t help but comment on a Twitter remark, that “John McCain would spit on (Sen. Lindsay Graham for finding) the presentation of facts relating to the terrorist attack more offensive and absurd the actual terrorist attack.”

As I write this, I’m sure there are no happy campers among the editorial staff of the Republic as they decide how to report that they lost … again … without saying so.

May God continue to bless the United States of America.
