You’ve heard President Biden conclude his speeches with “and may God protect our troops.” I would hope he’s serious, but how can we believe him when he left out any mention of God in his National Prayer Day proclamation?
Then there’s this. On Friday, as he concluded his remarks to service members and their families during his appearance at Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Virginia, I wondered how many in the audience took him seriously when he said:
“It’s my greatest honor … it should not surprise anybody; it should be anybody’s greatest honor in all of life … to be able to serve as your Commander-in-Chief. No greater honor.
“So, thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for spending time with me today. And thank you for your commitment to our country, because without you, as I said … I’ll end where I began: You are the spine of America … the spine.
Those service members in the audience, and those around the world who heard, or read his remarks, have reason not to take Biden seriously.
Since taking office, Biden has again permitted the military ranks to be fertile territory to push Democrat leftist ideology, using our troops like lab mice to administer critical race theory to be taught in the military.
Those espousing critical race theory claim that the Declaration of Independence is a sham, used by whites to oppress racial minorities, making America racist. Through the teaching, proponents see the end of their perceived discrimination by discriminating on behalf of minorities.
I’ve written about colleges, universities and even high schools that have been pushing white privilege, diversity, equity and inclusion. Now we see it creeping into corporate America, especially defense contractors. Lockheed Martin recently hired a diversity expert to teach a session on white privilege to a group of 13 executives.
The Navy has released a recommended reading list to facilitate “growth and development” of sailors, including “How to Be an Antiracist,” and “White Fragility.” Midshipman at the Naval Academy, too, are participating in diversity training.
Earlier this month, Lt. Col. Matthew Lohmeier, a Space Force officer, was removed from his position and reassigned to a “nothing” position while the Air Force Inspector General investigates his criticism of the Pentagon’s diversity push, in which he believes Marxism is spreading in the ranks.
Since 1948, when President Truman ordered the desegregation of the military to promote equality of treatment and opportunity for all, our troopers of every race and background fought side by side, ready to die for their comrades. One can only conclude that the left views the military as an organization ripe for their reeducation.
At the same time, his defense secretary is conducting a search for far-right “extremist behavior” in the armed forces. The Pentagon is developing a standardized questionnaire to screen recruits. They’re also developing procedures for veterans to report extremist activities after they leave the service.
The left-leaning California Congresswoman Jackie Speier, chair of the House Armed Services Military Personnel Subcommittee, asked for an executive order identifying white supremacy and violent extremism on social media for all incoming recruits and those seeking government security clearances.
Because 37 of the 400 rioters arrested in connection with the breaching of our nation’s Capitol on January 6, 2021 were current or former military members, the two million active duty and reservists have become likely subjects of a controlled interrogation or indoctrination.
Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has pledged to rid “racists and extremists” from the ranks of the U.S. military. Reportedly, Austin is urging troops to better understand and denounce white supremacist and other politically extremist ideologies that advocate for government overthrow.
Do you suppose those listening to Biden’s “proud to be your commander-in-chief” remarks wonder if they might be sought out because they were (are) Trump supporters or merely because they vote Republican?
FINALLY, PONDER THIS – The Pentagon refused to honor the annual request by the group, Rolling Thunder, made up of thousands of motorcycling veterans, to gather there before riding through our nation’s capital. The ride this year was renamed Rolling to Remember, in honor of those veterans who took their own lives. The organization was a favorite of President Trump, which explains the Pentagon’s refusal to permit the gathering.
Now, more than ever … may God continue to bless the United States of America.
