So Much to Comment On, So Little Space

WHAT DID YOU EXPECT when a reporter asked President Biden about New York Governor Cuomo’s resignation?

“He’s done a hell of a job … on everything from access to voting to infrastructure to a whole range of things.  That’s why it’s so sad,” he responded.

Notice how he skirted the two key charges against Cuomo … sexual harassment and his failure to properly address the Covid-19 pandemic, despite touting his leadership effort in a book.  The latter resulting in his sending nursing home residents to almost certain death.

Biden knows that he, too, took the liberty of kissing, touching and smelling women over the years.  Coincidentally, a Huffpost.com piece, “Kamala Harris On Joe Biden Accusers: I Believe Them,” published on April 3, 2019, during the 2020 presidential campaign, surfaced on social media today.

Commenting on the women who came forward alleging that Biden touched them without consent, Harris said, “I believe them, and I respect them being able to tell their story and having the courage to do it,” during a stop in Nevada.

When asked then whether Biden should still run for president, Harris responded, “He’s going to have to make that decision himself.  I wouldn’t tell him what to do.”

Biden’s response to the charges then were reminiscent of Cuomo’s lengthy media sessions prior to his resignation.  “I shake hands, I hug people, I grab men and women by the shoulder,” Biden said.  “Whether they’re women, men, young, old, it’s the way I’ve always been.  It’s the way I’ve tried to show I care about them and listen.”

RASMUSSEN REPORTS that 61 percent of voters believe it is likely that the Biden administration will raise taxes on middle class Americans. “These results are especially stunning,” noted Rasmussen, given that they were reminded that President Biden promised not to raise taxes on anyone earning less than $400,000 a year.

“I’VE RUN OUT OF GAS,” said Wisconsin Democrat Rep. Ron Kind, who announced he would not seek reelection after 26 years in the House.  “(It’s) a gutting blow to House Democrats in their uphill battle to hang onto their majority next November,” noted the left-leaning Politico.

Kind won by less than three percentage points over Republican challenger Derrick Van Orden in 2020.  Van Orden, a retired Navy SEAL, was seeking a rematch.

ILLEGAL MIGRANTS are being flown to Abilene, Texas on unmarked planes and later transported by bus and planes to several U.S. cities, according to the Daily Caller, reporting on ICE activities.  The Biden administration has not notified district Republican Rep. Jodey Arrington of the movements.

THANKS TO CAMPUS REFORM’S EFFORTS to uncover leftist activities on the campuses of our colleges and universities, we have learned that self-proclaimed communist Angela Davis earned $15,000 for an hour and fifteen minute You Tube virtual appearance on behalf of Arizona State University’s Black African Coalition on February 18, 2021.

“(Davis) has been deeply involved in our nation’s quest for social justice,” specifically, “economic, racial and gender justice,” commented BAC President Aniyah Braveboy.

Campus Reform also revealed that Purdue University contracted with Critical Race Theorist Robin DiAngelo for a two-hour virtual event entitled, “Pursuing Racial Justice Together,” at $7,000.

The Oregon Department of Educations paid 1619 Project Founder Nikole Hannah-Jones $50,000 for two virtual speeches, equating to a $14,000 hourly rate.

AS A FOLLOW UP to my last commentary of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report, I was pleased to see Steven Koonin’s op-ed in Wednesday’s Wall Street Journal.  In an earlier blog, I quoted from Kooonin’s book, “Unsettled: What Climate Science Tells Us, What it Doesn’t, and Why It Matters.”

“As usual, the media and politicians are exaggerating and distorting the evidence in the report,” writes Koonin.  “They lament an allegedly broken climate and proclaim, yet again, that we are facing the last, best chance to save the planet from a hellish future.  In fact, thing’s aren’t, and won’t be, anywhere near as dire.”

They say heat waves have become more frequent since 1960, while neglecting to mention that the report shows they are no more common today than they were in 1900, he notes.

He also notes that while the report says the rate of sea-level rise has been increasing over the past 50 years, it fails to mention that it was increasing almost as rapidly 90 years ago, before decreasing strongly for 40 years.

I’VE POINTED OUT that the greenies are attempting to scare the hell out of the public.  It seems to have worked on Jacob Cooper of Phoenix, who wrote a letter to the editor of the left-leaning Arizona Republic, referring to the bleak picture painted by the IPCC report.

“We have until 2030 to reduce our emissions to avoid even more climate disasters.  No place on this earth is safe from the damage of climate change,” he adds.

Cooper wants the media to call on everyone to “take real substantial action,” but fails to say what that might be.

‘LIKE IT OR NOT, setting the Third Precinct on fire was a genuine revolutionary moment,” wrote Minneapolis Democrat Party Chair Devin Hogan in an op-ed published by the Southside Pride. “An act of pure righteousness to open new worlds of understanding,” he added.

“The youth of Minneapolis have grown up seeing the police murder people who look like them without consequences,” he began. “Deliberately antagonizing them was a cruel excuse to give an opportunity to knock heads.  Everything that followed was a proportional response.”

Now, more than ever … may God continue to bless the United States of America.
