Commentary
We have a person in Joe Biden who lacks the competence required to be president of the United States, and he has surrounded himself with an assortment of equally ill-equipped individuals.
On Thursday, Biden and his handlers decided it was time for a distraction from his screw-up in Afghanistan. They cobbled together a six-point plan around Covid calling for new mandates with fines for non-compliance. Of course, there was no mention of the thousands of unvaccinated illegal migrants he approved for settlement in many of our cities.
The mandate order was interesting in view of what Biden has had to say earlier on the subject of mandates for masks and vaccines:
“I wouldn’t demand it be mandatory. I will do everything in my power as president of the United States to encourage people to do the right thing.” – President Elect Biden, December 4, 2020
You will recall Biden’s outrageous statements about taking the vaccine when Trump was president. It was as if Trump cooked up the vaccine in the White House kitchen:
“Americans have had to endure President Trump’s incompetence and dishonesty. We can’t repeat those fiascos when it comes to the vaccine. I trust vaccines. I trust scientists, but I don’t trust Donald Trump.” – Candidate Biden, September 2, 2020
“If Donald Trump tells us that we should take it, I’m not taking it.” Candidate Kamala Harris, September 6, 2020
Now Biden’s disappointed that so many Americans are ignoring his pleas to take the vaccine. The chickens have come home to roost.
Energy Independence Forfeited
Biden’s build back better scheme began on his first day in office, with the cancellation of the Keystone XL pipeline, thousands of people lost their jobs, and America could no longer celebrate the pride of energy independence, established under President Trump.
“What President Biden wants to do is make sure that those folks have better choices, that they have alternatives, that they can be the people who go to work to make solar panels.” – John Kerry, Climate Czar, January 28, 2021
“But the West faces a conundrum as it installs panels on small rooftops and in sprawling desert arrays. Most of them are produced from carbon-dioxide-belching, coal burning plants in China.” – Wall Street Journal, July 31, 2021
Our Insecure Border
He stopped construction on the wall at our southern border and has allowed illegal migrant and drug traffic to flow freely. Vice President Harris has proven to be an absolute failure on the border issue since being saddled with an assignment in which she has no interest.
“We do not take advice or counsel on immigration from former President Trump.” Jen Psaki, White House press secretary.
Afghanistan Aftermath
Biden’s hatred for President Trump wouldn’t allow him to follow Trump’s conditional withdrawal from Afghanistan. He botched the withdrawal by removing troops before embassy workers and other civilians. Bagram Air Base should have been secured for the safe, orderly evacuation of people and the billions of dollars-worth of weapons vehicles and aircraft. Biden’s miscalculation makes him responsible for the deaths of 13 service members and the loss of taxpayer-paid equipment.
“By the time I came into office, the Taliban was in its strongest military position since 2001, controlling or contesting nearly half of the country,” President Biden, August 31, 2021
In spite of that, this foreign policy genius ordered the withdrawal his way, the wrong way, and 13 service members were killed and a number of other injured.
I take responsibility for the decision. Some say we should have started mass evacuations sooner, in a more orderly manner, I respectfully disagree.” – President Biden, August 31, 2021
Today, as we approach the 20th memorial of 9/11, the statements about trusting the Taliban are sickening:
“The Taliban have been cooperative in facilitating the departure of American citizens and lawful permanent residents on charter flights. The have shown flexibility, and that have been businesslike and professional in our dealings with them in this effort.”– Emily Horne, National Security Council spokesperson
Climate Change Scare Tactics
And he’s lying to us again about the effects of climate change.
“The evidence is clear. Climate change poses an existential threat to our lives, to our economy, and the threat is here, it’s not going to get any better.” – President Biden, September 7, 2021
Speaking to residents in New York and New Jersey who were cleaning up after Hurricane Ida, Biden continued to perpetuate his climate change scare tactics.
“Its just going to get worse and worse and worse. Because the storms are going to get worse and worse and worse. We’ve got to listen to the scientists and the economists and the national security experts.” – President Biden, September 7, 2021
However, scientists at the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions state that “The connection between climate change and hurricane frequency is less straightforward. It is likely the number of storms will remain the same or even decrease.”
“The nation and the world are in peril. They’ve been warning us that the extreme weather would get more extreme over the decade, and we’re living in it real time now.” – President Biden, September 7, 2021
And it isn’t just Biden warning of doomsday. His Democrat Senate Majority Leader and climate scientist Chuck Schumer followed with:
“When you get two record rainfalls in a week, it’s not just coincidence. Woe is us if we don’t recognize these changes are due to climate change.”
Wildfires in the west have also been wrongly attributed solely to climate change. Even the left-leaning National Geographic reports that the combination of overgrown forests and climate change are making record wildfires commonplace.
“The results have been disastrous. Many forests are now wildly overgrown, jam-packed with small, sometimes unhealthy trees and shrubs that ready to burn explosively if set alight.
And they concede that “While we can’t change the weather patterns or climate pressures, we can control the fuels.”
A Pattern of Failure
With that pathetic record in just eight months, it’s impossible to take advice from a village idiot, which I learned, in strict terms, is a person locally known for ignorance or stupidity. A nonsensical person. That’s Joe Biden.
Now, more than ever … may God continue to bless the United States of America.
