Hands Down, Nancy Pelosi Wins My October 1 Fool’s Day Recognition

Commentary

“I am a master legislator. I just love it. I consider myself a weaver, like I have a loom.  And I bring all these different threads together.” – Nancy Pelosi, October 29, 2017

Those were her words from an interview with the Washington Post.

Those “threads” she now faces are the handful in the socialist progressive caucus, who are holding the infrastructure bill hostage.  You know who they are.

Regular readers of the blog know that I select someone to be recognized as my fool-of-the-month on the first day of each month, not just on April 1, normally referred to as April Fool’s Day.

There was no question.  Hands down, my selection was the Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.

Her opening remarks during her September 30, 2021 press briefing was pure Pelosi.

“I just told members of my leadership that the reconciliation bill was a culmination of my service to Congress, because it was about the children, the children, the children, the children …”

She followed with references to Build Back Better investments (entitlements) … climate, education, broadband, child care tax credit, universal pre-K, home health services, green jobs, and kitchen sinks.

When pressed whether she had the votes, all she could say was, “I plan on moving forward in a positive way.  It’s a path that we’re on.” She then began talking about negotiating. “You cannot tire.  You cannot concede. This is the fun part.”

On October 1, 2021 … her day … Pelosi, the “master legislator” was forced to stoop to invite President Biden over to the House to help persuade her members to come to the rescue of the party.

Ponder this proverb: “Fools rush in where Angels fear to tread” refers to inexperienced people who jump into situations that wiser, more experienced people avoid.

Now, more than ever … may God continue to bless the United States of America.
