The Mess Created Under Biden’s Watch in Just 11 Months

Commentary

I heard someone say recently, ‘Just think, if President Biden hadn’t reversed President Trump’s policies, he would probably be enjoying a 51 percent approval rating rather than a 51 percent disapproval rating.’

The economy under Trump was coming back when Biden put an end to our energy independence by stopping the Keystone pipeline and drilling.

Does anyone think that those container ships would be stalled off our coasts if Trump was president?  Remember how he worked with the private sector to produce ventilators and masks when Covid hit, and initiated Operation Warp Speed in collaboration with pharmaceutical manufacturers.

And, under Trump, immigration at our southern border was under control, and amnesty and benefits for immigrants in legislation wouldn’t stand a chance.

Inflation

It wasn’t but a couple weeks ago that the Biden administration tried to peddle the nonsense that rising inflation was transitory, it wouldn’t last.  Press secretary Jen Psaki mocked the shortage of Christmas gift wishes, and Biden’s chief of staff Ron Klain dismissed it as a “high class problem,” and that Americans should stop complaining.

In Kansas City, Missouri this week to tout his infrastructure bill, Biden waffled his way through an explanation of how his release of fuel from the Reserve helped Kansans. “Today, the average price you’ll pay here in Kansas City is below $2 a gallon … $2 or $3 a gallon … it’s down to $2.90 … 20 percent down from a month ago …. 7 cents a gallon.” He followed that with, “We’re going to keep at it to ensure the American people are paying their fair share for gas.”  What does that mean?

Biden quickly jumped to his commitment to invest $66 billion to improve rail service.  How is that fair to the average American?

There’s so much more to be said about the effects of inflation, like the decline in wages, but space will not allow me to get into the weeds on it.  You’re feeling it.  I know.

Remember WIN?

While we are experiencing a 39-year high inflation rate of 6.8 percent, Biden continues to push for passage of his infrastructure bill, mocked by many as “Build Back Broke.”

THE WIN BUTTON OF 1974.

In 1974, when inflation hit 11.4 percent, Americans were wearing WIN buttons – for “Whip Inflation Now.” The button was a gimmick by President Ford to spur a grassroots movement to combat inflation by encouraging personal savings and disciplined spending habits in combination with public measures.

While I expect there’s a creative soul out there who will come up with a similar slogan, it will have a tough time competing with “Let’s Go Brandon.”  What we need now is for Democrat Senators Joe Manchin, Kyrsten Sinema and a few more of their colleagues to get a backbone and kill the bill.

Immigration

Reluctantly, Biden just reinstated President Trump’s “Remain in Mexico” policy he once referred to as inhumane.  The program that requires asylum-seekers to stay in Mexico until their court hearing was suspended by Biden on his first day in office.

Under Biden’s open-door policy, immigrants were simply given a court date and sent to cities across the nation at our expense, and most of them will not keep the court date.

In addition, thousands of immigrants have avoided border gates, illegally crossing the Rio Grande River.  Except for those who successfully evaded the Border Patrol, they too, have been bussed or flown to other cities and not expected to make their court dates.

It is believed that the majority of the illegals have not been vaccinated for Covid-19, a fact conveniently ignored by “Mandate Joe” Biden.

Inoculations

Remember how Biden pledged to listen to science, that he was the man to stop Covid it its tracks? He was going to make sure everyone had access to a vaccination because he understood logistics.  Yet, today he’s still listening to Dr. Anthony Fauci, who is no longer respected, and he’s still telling people to wear masks.

Defense

Biden is responsible for the botched withdrawal of Afghanistan that took the lives of 13 service men and women.  If he had followed Trump’s plan, our diplomatic team and other civilians would have been evacuated first, from Bagram Air Base.  Our military would have been ordered to load all helicopters, vehicles and equipment for removal prior to their evacuation.

Does anyone think Russia, China and Iran would be testing Trump today had he conducted the withdrawal?

BIDEN HOSTS VIRTUAL SUMMIT ON DEMOCRACY
(Los Angeles Times photo)

The Democracy Summit

Then there’s this … with all of the problems we’re facing today, who thought a democracy summit was what we needed?  There he sat, President Biden facing a wall of monitors with the faces of 80 global leaders, as he hosted a virtual summit designed to preserve and strengthen the world’s democracies, which he said, “is the defining challenge of our time.”

Hmmmmmm … I thought the threat of climate change was the defining challenge of our time.

So far, able to avoid indictment for corruption in his own family with the content of Hunter Biden’s laptop becoming more known, Biden unashamedly pointed to his administration’s “new strategy on countering corruption,” and urged summit participants to stand for the rule of law, while his administration and the blue state governor and mayors give it short shrift.

And again, he freely commits taxpayer funds, as he announced a $424 million initiative for “democratic renewal” to expand U.S. efforts to bolster democratic governments around the world.  How does this differ from nation building?

The January 6 Investigation

Finally … President Biden could have backed the privacy of presidential documents, which has long been the tradition, a democratic institution that permitted presidents to invoke executive privilege, but he chose instead to support Congress’s oversight powers in the search for material relating to President Trump’s January 6, 2020 rally.  Another example of Biden’s disdain for the former president.

Will the court view executive privacy equally when there is a search for Biden documents involving Hunter’s foreign business dealings?

The Congressional select committee investigating the January 6, breach of the Capitol is expected to hold its hearing in June, planning to paint Republications as bad actors going into the midterm election.

Now, more than ever … may God continue to bless the United States of America.
