In Case You Haven’t Noticed, Things are Changing in Washington DC

“All great changes are preceded by chaos.” – Deepak Chopra M.D.

We all saw it coming from the day Joe Biden was elected, and for sure on Day One of his presidency, when he chucked the goal of unifying America and, one by one, reversed the policies of President Trump, in a personal vengeance against him and Americans who voted for him.

And things have gone down hill ever since as he opened the border to millions of illegals, who now roam our cities; dismantled our energy independence; and unnecessarily botched our withdrawal from Afghanistan, a move that cast his weakness around the world.

He failed to keep his pledge to kill the scourge of Covid as he and those in his charge send out mixed-messages on masks. American moms and dads have had enough and are taking on school districts requiring students to wear masks.

And in some cities, thousands of employees who defy the mask mandate risk losing their jobs.

Inflation hit 7.5 percent, a near 40-year high, and Americans are struggling against rising food prices and gas pump increases, as he fails to realistically help to resolve the supply chain mess.  At the same time, real wages have declined 1.7 percent.

Meanwhile, crime rates are also rising across the nation, from the smash and grab incidents, to car-jacking, assaults and homicide, he has not offered a solution other than to dole out more funds to cities that don’t need it.

It’s obvious most Americans have had enough.  A new CNN/SSRS poll revealed that nearly 60 percent of American disapprove of how Biden is handling the presidency, and most were unable to cite a single thing they like that he has done.  Though the result of the 2020 election is moot, amazingly, 37 percent of American believe he did not legitimately win.

While Biden’s job approval is even waning among Democrats, his approval among Independents has slipped from 50 percent in June to 36 percent last month.

Job approval of Vice President Harris continues to sink, too, even as Biden sends her to Europe to meet with NATO countries over the Ukraine crisis.

He successively persuaded Justice Stephen Breyer to retire so that he could fulfill his pledge to nominate a black woman to the Supreme Court, a move that has been met with considerable criticism.  What happened to “the best qualified?”

And now, having shown a weakness to world leaders, especially Russia’s Putin and China’s Xi Ping, he’s faced with more foreign policy decisions, where his history is one of indecision, misjudgments and failure over the years.  He’s sending several thousand troopers to Poland and shifting other European-based troops for a mission that doesn’t include fighting in Ukraine.

As Senators Manchin and Sinema continue to hold strong against Biden’s radical legislation, we are seeing other Democrats becoming more vocal about Build Back Better.

The media is beginning to ask some tough questions and Biden doesn’t like it.  He called Fox News Channel’s Peter Doocy a stupid son of a bi**h, and this week, during an interview to be aired at Super Bowl halftime, he referred to NBC’s Lester Holt as a “wise guy.”  Holt asked Biden, “Back in July, you said inflation was going to be temporary.  I think a lot of Americans are wondering what your definition of temporary is.”

Then there’s the change going on at CNN.  With its viewer numbers in the tank, the big guy, Jeff Zucker, resigns after carrying on a consensual relationship with a direct report individual, even though it was widely known in the Beltway.  I assume the rumors of Chris Wallace being crestfallen over Zucker’s departure are true.

There’s more.  Regular readers may recall my December 1, 2021 post, Two Pundits Decide to ‘Take Their Ball and Go Home’, in which I wrote of anti-Trumper Jonah Goldberg, who left as a Fox contributor in a huff over a January 6, piece done by Tucker Carlson.

Goldberg has now signed-on with CNN as the network begins to gear up for the midterms.  “Goldberg will likely fall into the role of the ‘concerned conservative’ earning his keep by crapping on conservatives,“ wrote Stephen Green in PJ Media, “He’s already taking heat.”

Among them, Harry Khachatrian at the Washington Examiner noted that while Goldberg had cited “principles” over Carlson’s piece, he now moves to CNN, where it was claimed that January 6 was like 9/11 and Pearl Harbor.

It’s obvious that that the chaos in Washington is already bringing change, among American voters, some in Congress, and even the media.  Bring on the chaos.

Now, more than ever … may God continue to bless the United States of America.
