Poor Baby … First Lady Talks of Joe’s Shattered Hopes and Plans

Commentary

During a fundraiser for the Democrat National Committee in Massachusetts, a frustrated Jill Biden told the audience that her husband “had so many hopes and plans for the things he wanted to do; he had to address the problems of the moment.  He’s just had so many things thrown his way,”

BIDEN’S ON THE ROPES

Noting that her husband was being constantly challenged by unanticipated crises, she talked of Roe v Wade being overturned, still not believing it.  She spoke of gun violence in the country. And the fact that “we didn’t see the war in Ukraine coming.”

How pathetic. Isn’t that what it’s like to be president?

Many experts believe that Vladimir Putin made his move on Ukraine because he saw a weakness in her husband during the withdrawal from Afghanistan. Even after Putin’s intention was clear, her husband’s early response was feckless.

“There’s going to be no circumstance where you see people being lifted off the roof of an embassy of the United States from Afghanistan.” – President Biden

Inflation wasn’t mentioned, and of course, she failed to mention the crises for which her husband is personally responsible. Crises he caused with the vengeance he wreaked on former President Trump.

Her husband’s decision to reduce the use of fossil fuel has hit the everyday transportation requirements of average Americans, but also truckers who bring goods to the market, and by doing so we are no longer energy independent, once the achievement of Trump.

He insists that the border is closed, and fails to acknowledge that millions of migrants and masses of drugs are flowing through our border states to communities across the nation. Trump worked to control border traffic and had reasonable success in securing our border.

I’m appalled by the First Lady’s remarks.  Especially having just reminding you of all of former President Trump’s accomplishments while the deep state and the leftist media raked him over the coals over four years.

Regular readers may recall that I believe Jill Biden could have, and should have persuaded her husband not to run.  I’m convinced that the thought of the power of the office was too much for her to deny.  And she saw a role for herself.

There is agreement. “It was clear to me that she knew exactly what she would do if she were first lady,” wrote Jonathan Van Meter in a Vogue magazine puff piece.  “She came in, I think – knowing the experience of being vice president, knowing the power of the presidency – knowing that she could change things,” he said, describing her “looking every inch a goddess at 69.”

I recall the photo of her going through briefing books on Air Force One and another at a laptop in the White House, captured by renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz.

“The role she’s fulfilling is, in many ways neither first lady nor professor, but a key player in her husband’s administration, a West Wing surrogate and policy advocate,” wrote Van Meter. “She’s selling a new vision for how our most fundamental institutions ought to work – infrastructure, education, and public health.  It’s hard to imagine Joe doing this without her.” What does that fell you?

Rereading the 2021 Vogue piece, it was something Joe shared with Van Meter during a private meeting he had with Joe and Jill on Air Force One that got me thinking about my belief that she convinced Joe to run.

While recalling Biden discussing his reluctance to run, referring to the state of the country, Van Meter writes, “He (Biden) turns to me, saying Jill said ‘you gotta run because there’s so much at stake.’”

So, it seems to me that Jill Biden, has only to look in the mirror and recognize that she’s at least partially responsible for those crushed hopes and plans her husband had.  Not only is she his closest advisor, from the beginning she knew he wasn’t up to the job.

Rather than seeking pity for Joe at the fundraiser, she should have apologized to the attendees.

May God continue to bless the United States as we await the midterms, just 112 days from now.
