It wasn’t surprising to hear President Biden say Republicans planned to “tear down what I’ve been able to do” during a rare interview with Jonathan Capehart on MSNBC on Friday.
Not surprising, because that’s exactly what he did with former President Trump’s accomplishments on his first day in office. Here are the headlines from Biden’s water carriers on the left:
“On Day 1, Biden Moves to Undo Trump’s Legacy” – The New York Times, Jan. 20, 2021
“On his first day, Biden signs executive orders to reverse Trump’s policies” – The Washington Post, Jan. 20, 2021
“President Biden moved swiftly on Wednesday to dismantle Trump administration policies his aides said have caused the greatest damage to the nation,” the New York Times reported, while noting he was “sweeping aside” Trump’s policies “despite an inaugural address that called for unity and compromise.”
Cringe Moments
LAUGH FOR THE DAY – “I have more substantive experience on the issues facing the country, both in foreign and domestic policy, than any other president ever.” – President Biden in interview with MSNBC’s Jonathan Capehart.
There was another awkward moment during Biden’s interview on MSNBC, when Capehart asked him if he planned to run again in 2024. After responding, “It’s my intention to run again,” Capehart asked, “Dr. Biden is for it?”
A seemingly long period of silence, during which he appeared to be dozing off, Capehart was forced to say, “Mr. President?” As if saying, are you still with me?
“Dr. Biden thinks that uh, my wife thinks that uh, that I uh, that we’re doing something very important.”
As I have written previously, Jill Biden should have advised her husband not to run in 2020. Now, we’re looking to her for 2024. Really.
“Something very important.” Is that what it is.
Demonizing our oil and gas industry while he begs for supplies elsewhere, as we continue the fantasy of solar and wind energy to “invest” in climate change.
Two million illegal migrants seeking asylum and another half-million gottaways moving into our communities to over burden services belonging to citizens.
Increasing crime in cities across the country.
Supplies of critical products, like baby formula, continue with no signs of supply chain improvement.
Personally, I am reminded of former President Obama’s prediction on Biden – “Don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to f**k things up.”
Looking Back
I found it interesting that the Washington Post, commenting on Biden’s first day in office, “reflected the years of pent-up frustrations that they had been largely powerless to stop an administration that espoused policies they vehemently opposed.”
Back then, the Post noted that “few periods in our nation’s history have been more challenging or difficult that the one we’re in right now.” Sound familiar today?
When in Pittsburgh
During President Biden’s latest trip to Pennsylvania, he spoke from the Fern Hollow Bridge site, where the bridge collapsed nine months earlier. It was an opportunity made for him to tout his investment in roads, highways, bridges, railroads and airports.
When he announced another $2.5 billion to fix and upgrade Pennsylvania’s roads and bridges, I was reminded of an op-ed I read in the Wall Street Journal, “You Can’t Build Roads Without Oil.”
Do you think Biden knows about asphalt, the byproduct left behind in the processing of making fuel. The bottom of the bottom of the oil barrel, so to speak. Ninety-four percent of U.S. roads are paved with asphalt.
I have frequently written about the number of household products made from petroleum. The op-ed pointed out that 30 percent of each barrel materially contributes to those products.
If we stop using oil to make gasoline, diesel and jet fuel we won’t be making the other stuff we use every day. Fossil fuels are needed to produce those electric vehicles, and provide electric power for them for many years to come.
PONDER THIS: President Biden likes to remind us of how his Inflation Reduction Act is helping us, because of the energy tax credits we can earn when buying a new washer and dryer or winterizing our home, but he never seems concerned that we may not be able to afford either now.
Just 14 days to the midterms. The Cavalry is near.
May God continue to bless the United States of America.
