Former President Trump Is Indicted While Hillary Quietly Pays Meager Fine

Commentary

How often have we heard ‘nobody’s above the law,’ and how about the denial that there are two tiers of justice?

FORMER PRESIDENT TRUMP IN COURT.

While the leftist media repeated their sorrow over the unprecedented indictment of a U.S. president, they couldn’t hide their giddiness that it was former President Trump, who they have been after for more than eight years.

In December 2020, the FEC issued an internal report that it had “reason to believe” violations of campaign finance law were made “knowingly and willfully” by the Trump campaign.  It concerned a payment of $130,000 to Stormy Daniels by Trump’s personal lawyer shortly before the 2016 election.

On May 6, 2021, however, the FEC formally dropped the case after the Southern District of New York opted out of charging Trump for violating election law, voting to dismiss these matters “as an exercise of our prosecutorial discretion.”

One could assume that with that FEC decision the investigation was closed. That conclusion was also drawn when Alvin Bragg decided to suspend “indefinitely” his investigation when he became district attorney in January 2022 even though he had campaigned to “get Trump.”

Obviously, Bragg simply couldn’t drop his investigation after waging his boastful “get Trump” pledge, which Trump referred to as Bragg’s “obsession.”

As a result, he indicted Trump on 34 misdemeanor charges he believes will be seen by a jury as criminal felonies.

The Daniels hush money case has long been considered very weak when considering that it would have made a difference in the 2016 election.  The real “October surprise,” the leaked tape of Trump’s lewd conversation with Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush, published by The Washington Post on October 7, 2016, was much more revealing of Trump, the man.

The Case Against Hillary

Now, while Trump has been arraigned on weak charges by a district attorney with a vendetta in an effort to damage the former president’s declared attempt to win the presidency in 2024, Hillary continues to avoid serious charges.

HILLARY CLINTON ELUDES THE LAW AGAIN.

You may recall the FEC’s investigation of Hillary Clinton’s campaign, the Democrat National Committee and the law firm, Perkins Coie, contracting with Fusion GPS to secure Christopher Steele’s fabricated Russian dossier on Trump.

The FEC declared that Perkins Coie had paid Fusion GPS $1,024,407.97 for the dossier and revealed that the manner in which payments were funneled to Fusion GPS by Perkins Coie violated strict rules on how to describe election expenditures, claiming the payment was for “legal advice and services.”

While the FEC dismissed allegations that the DNC, the Clinton campaign and Fusion GPS violated a host of FEC rules, fining the Clinton campaign just $8,000 and the DNC $105,000, with parties resolving the matter “expeditiously and to avoid further legal costs.

The conciliation agreement found “probable cause to believe” that both the campaign and the DNC “misreported the purpose of certain disbursements” when they said payments to Perkins Coie were for legal fees.

“We settled aging and silly complaints about the 2016 election about ‘purpose descriptions’ in our FEC report,” said Daniel Wessel, a DNC spokesman.

I wonder if Mr. Wessel views the charges against Trump as “silly.”

So There You Have It …

in an unprecedented action, a former U.S. president is indicted over a $130,000 payment of hush money to face undisclosed formal charges in December, while Hillary Clinton’s campaign and the DNC pay meager fines totaling $113,000 over a “misstated” payment of more than a million dollars funneled for opposition research.

It appears to me that Hillary Clinton, a former senator, first lady and secretary of state, is clearly considered to be above the law, where she benefits from a different tier of justice.

May God continue to bless the United States of America.
