Everything is Political in the Biden Era

Commentary

About ten years ago, I established Kramerontheright.com as a political blog with a conservative viewpoint.  Looking back, nearly all of my commentary was about left versus right politically, domestic and foreign policy differences, liberalism versus conservatism. That was also true of op-eds and letters to editors I wrote prior to establishing my blog.

The Biden era changed all that. Everything. Everything is political. Even our culture.

In this edition, I will be touching on a wide variety of topics in the news, that will clearly support my assertion.  Space limitations will require an effort to be brief in my commentary. I hope you will take the time to read my thoughts.

The Pro-Life Issue

I was surprised that Ben Domenech was back in print with, “Did Trump Just Make A Big Mistake?” continuing to support his position that the former president soured his chances with the pro-life movement with his remarks on Meet the Press.  (See Kramerontheight.com, September 20, 2023)

Writing in Politico as a contributing writer, Rich Lowry, editor-in-chief of National Review, doesn’t believe Trump has hurt himself with his remarks allowing for negotiation on the issue:

“Political circumstances are different now, of course.  The party is freaked out about the politics of abortion in a way that it wasn’t in the pre-Dobbs era, and open to more pragmatism.”

Matt Margolis, writing in PJ Media, believes the GOP can win on the abortion issue with the right messaging while calling attention to a new Cyngal poll revealing that 73.5 percent of registered voters want restrictions on abortion, Republicans need to define the Democrats as the extreme party on the issue.

Climate Change

Appearing at the Reading Area Community College in Berks County, Pennsylvania, Vice President Harris voiced concern that young people are experiencing “climate anxiety,” that causes them to rethink major future plans like having a family due to the environmental impact. I shudder to think, she’s next in line.

Critics argued that these young people, like all Americans, are more likely to consider the rising costs of energy, food and housing when making the decision to have children.

SPEAKING WITH ILLEGALS crossing the southern border, Bill Melugin, Fox News Channel’s border reporter, shot down the Biden administration claim that the heavy traffic crossing our southern border is due to migrants fleeing climate change in their countries. Not a single migrant claimed it was climate change that motivated their trek.

GOOD LUCK WITH THIS IDEA – Biden hasn’t given up on the idea of an American Climate Corps, a plan to put a new generation of Americans to work conserving our land and waters, deploying clean energy, all with the goal of tackling climate change working for $15 an hour.

Our Military

As an Air Force veteran, regular readers will recall the disdain I have for the weak-kneed leaders of our military services, who have succumbed to Biden’s wokeism policies that have weakened our forces, from gender transformation, diversity and equity, to promoting critical race theory, rather than standing strong in opposition.

We have a Pentagon that cannot distinguish between a national security threat by China from the supposed existential threat of climate change.

If you think the retirement of Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Mark Milley this week will make a difference, I’m sorry to report that we will not see any improvement with his replacement, Gen. Charles Q. Brown.

In a memo signed by General Brown, he writes of achieving a force more representative of our Nation, stating that diversity and inclusion are an essential part of our society and key to the success of any organization.

If that sounds familiar:

“From the beginning, Vice President-elect Harris and I have sought to build an administration that looks like America.” President-elect Biden, December 30, 2020

Aspirational goals for aligning our forces aims for a force made up of 64 percent male and 36 percent female.  Interestingly, there is no reference to transgenders.

The memo reveals a goal of increasing blacks to 13 percent from the current 8.5 percent, Hispanics to 15 percent from 9.5 percent, and Asians to 10 percent from 6.5 percent.

Books in our Schools

By now you have more than likely heard about the books in some school libraries that shouldn’t be there.  Louisiana’s Republican Sen. John Kennedy gave lawmakers a graphic wake-up call when he read passages from “Gender Queer” in a Judiciary Committee hearing.

The books in question are not always in the category of sex education.  There was a bit of confusion when it was reported that a Houston, Texas teacher was fired for assigning his eighth-grade class the reading of the “Diary of Anne Frank.”  It turns out that it was actually “Anne Franks Diary: The Graphic Adaptation,” quite a different story, a story of molestation in her life, not included in the original book.

SPEAKING OF BOOKS, if you haven’t heard about Mark Levin’s new book, “The Democrat Party Hates America,” you should pick up a copy if you need documentation to prove the author’s assertion.  I did, and you can expect to see quotes from it in this blog in the future.

Levin explains how the Democrat Party shuns individualism, colorblindness, law enforcement, the sovereignty of our borders, national security, and the economy, and emphasizes that there’s little time remaining to stop Democrats from killing America. I know it, and so do you.

Our No-Justice Department

Keeping it simple, was behind fellow blogger Frances Menton’s dissection of 18 U.S.C. Section 201 of the criminal statutes on bribery of a public official with this:

“Corruptly seek(ing), receiv(ing) (or) accept(ing) anything of value, in return for being influenced in the performance of any official act.”

I agree with Menton that it’s high time that everybody stopped calling Biden’s alleged wrongdoings by euphemisms like “influence peddling,” or “foreign business dealings” – neither of which are terms specifically referencing an impeachable offense, let alone a crime.

We should all start using the correct and obviously applicable constitutional and statutory term of “bribery.”

Attorney General Garland appeared before Congress, but was again purposely ill-prepared to respond to the questioning of Republican members. He claimed that he could not answer questions concerning the Biden scandal, which may be understandable, but he was still unable, or unwilling, to say how many federal agents and informants were among the January 6 crowd.

As the truth is coming out about lengthy jail time for misdemeanor charges for trespassing, the term “insurrection” is slowly disappearing from official documentation.

Garland thinks Americans are stupid.  The FBI has had Hunter Biden’s laptop for nearly five years, a period during which much has been investigated and documented, and yet Garland claims he has never discussed it with the president.

Immigration

With President Biden claiming to be “the most pro-union president in American history,” he is facing a strike of unhappy union members in our nation’s auto industry, but wait until the word gets out of his granting temporary legal status to an estimated 472,000 Venezuelans, making them eligible to work.

INCIDENTALLY, have you heard that the number of illegals, not counting the “gotaways,” that have purged our “secure” border, now exceeds the population of the state of Wisconsin, and six times the population of Delaware?

Did you know that deportation of most illegals, solely because they were undocumented, officially ended on September 30, 2021?

During a report from the border this week, an illegal asked a border official if he could go to Chicago and was told he “could go anywhere he wished.”

How long must this be tolerated?

On January 20, 2025 we can put the Biden era behind us.

Until then … may God continue to bless the United States of A
