Commentary
I haven’t commented extensively on the rash of antisemitism demonstrations taking place around the world, especially in the United States, except for a brief comment about misguided college students, who no-doubt are being paid by the likes of George Soros’ Open Society, and the lying Democrat Rep. Rashida Tlaib.
Like me, perhaps you have been skeptical whether they know why they are waving Palestinian flags and yelling obscenities about Jews.
Until now, I have been critical of college and university professors for promoting the socialist way of life. I recall quoting the late Rush Limbaugh, who said “the education system is where young skulls full of mush are programmed and propagandized.”
I’m sure Rush recalled that line from the 1970s TV series, “The Paper Chase,” which, incidentally, was a favorite of mine. Actor John Houseman, playing law professor Charles W. Kingsfield Jr., said, “You teach yourselves law, but I train your minds. You come here with a skull full of mush and you leave thinking like a lawyer.”
Unfortunately, students today are leaving with thoughts of socialism, fueled by liberal progressive professors, who are also making sure they know that the October 7, 2023 Hamas killings were wholly Israel’s fault.
“Higher education may have finally crossed the line,” wrote Glenn Reynolds in the New York Post. “With the horrific massacre, rapes and infant murders and kidnappings Hamas proudly perpetrated in Israel, much of the American academic community, especially at elite universities, sided with … Hamas. It is not playing well.
“Harvard has been the most talked-about example,” he said, “because, well, it’s Harvard.”
I’ve heard that a student who issued a pro-Hamas proclamation had his job offer rescinded by a prestigious law firm. Dozens of Harvard student groups released a callous statement saying Israel’s government is “entirely responsible” for Hamas’ violence.
Philanthropists and alums are removing participating colleges and universities from their donation lists. Long overdue, I might add. Billionaire Idan Ofer and his wife Batia, worth $20 billion, have left the board of Harvard’s Kennedy School
Then there’s this
A man on the street interview of students about Hamas, aired by Greg Gutfeld on his show Friday night, revealed what most of us have suspected. They don’t know what they are demonstrating for or against.
In the video clip, an unidentified man with a microphone approaches students to ask them if they would like Hamas to free Palestine, but when they learned what they would be agreeing to when they signed his petition, they quickly backed away, after muttering “huh?”
Here are the questions aired:
Do you agree that every Jew, Christian and non-Muslim should be slaughtered?
Do you endorse making homosexuality punishable by jail or death?
Do you support Sharia law which bans women from showing her knees, hair, playing sports in public, not being able to travel without a man’s permission?
On Saturday, when Fox’s Griff Jenkens asked a man with a Rainbow Coalition flag how he could support Hamas when homosexuality is contrary to Muslin beliefs, he didn’t have an audible response.
Representative Tlaib issued a statement condemning Biden’s declaration that the U.S. stands with Israel. “The majority of the American people,” she said, “are not with you on this one. We will remember in 2024.”
Meanwhile, the Israeli Defense Force is methodically moving into the Gaza strip on a mission to totally dismantle the evil remnants of the Hamas organization.
May God continue to bless the United States of America.
