2024 Presidential Campaign Report No. 7

And the Nominee Is …

With the lingering doubt about President Biden’s memory and fitness for office and former President Trump facing a number of legal challenges, Monmouth University polled 902 voting adults to see where they stand as nominees.

Forty-eight percent think it is very or somewhat likely Biden will be replaced as the Democrat nominee, while 32 percent think it is very or somewhat likely that Trump will be replaced.

Overall, 51 percent of voters are at least somewhat confident that Trump has the physical and mental stability to carry out presidential duties, while just 32 percent are confident of Biden.

Unbelievably, the Hur Report doesn’t seem to have shifted public opinion on whether Biden mishandled classified documents.

PRESIDENT BIDEN

“Can the polls get worse for President Joe Biden? Asks Paul Bedford in his Washington Examiner column.  “Apparently, yes,” he answers, after reviewing the latest Rasmussen Reports results when respondents were simply asked if his presidency has so far been a success or failure, a base test for reelection.

Fifty-eight percent believe he has failed, with 40 percent calling it “complete failure.”

How Time Flies

I first wrote about Tony Bobulinski on October 22, 2020, when he made public that he met Joe Biden while a business partner of Hunter Biden. It was then that he revealed that the president was the “big guy” referenced in an e-mail.

Now, nearly four years later, with the Republican House investigating the role of the president in his son Hunter’s business dealing, Congress finally got around to interviewing Bobulinksi.

In a closed-door interview, he testified that he witnessed the president’s involvement in business with a Chinese energy conglomerate, detailing multiple meetings with the president in 2017.

Bobulinski reaffirmed the remark of the president’s brother, James, who, when asked if he was concerned about doing business with the Chinese if Joe runs for president, said with a chuckle said, “plausible deniability.”

New York Democrat Rep. Dan Goldman, who shares with Rep. Jaime Raskin, the role of naysayer, attempted to paint Bobulinski as disgruntled, motivated to speak negatively about the Bidens after Hunter Biden shut him out of the venture.

FORMER PRESIDENT TRUMP

The saga of the former president’s legal woes continues as he faces, I believe, 91 counts in four separate indictments in four states.  It’s all part of the “get Trump” movement brought on by sufferers of Trump Derangement Syndrome.

He’s appealing the $83 million judgement that he pay E. Jean Caroll for defamation.  Let’s see, she cannot remember when Trump assaulted her, 30 or 35 years ago, nor the month, day or time of day, there were no witnesses, the Donna Karan dress she claimed to be wearing that day did not exist then.

Also in New York, finally, six years after making the campaign promise to “Get Trump,” Attorney General Letitia James is giddy with Judge Arthur Engoron’s order that Trump pay $355 million and be banned from running a company in New York for three years, despite the fact that there is no evidence of fraud, no victim.  Trump will appeal, but the Appeals Court is stacked with justices placed there by Democrat Governors Cuomo and Hochul.

In Georgia, the judge is considering the dismissal of the case against Trump and associates charged with trying to overturn the 2020 election or removing Fulton County DA Fani Willis, her prosecutor lover, and others from the case. However, the case could continue with a new prosecutor and another DA.

The Florida case accusing Trump of possession of classified information at his Mar-a-Lago residence is in limbo, complicated by Biden’s get out of jail free decision by Special Counsel Robert Hur.

Also in a state of suspension is the case in which Jack Smith wants to pin Trump for his supposed role in the January 6 breach of the Nation’s Capitol.

Back in New York in late March, Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg wants to nail Trump with a campaign finance violation tied to the supposed hush money paid to Stormy Daniels.

Writing in American Greatness, Roger Kimball asks, “How do you spell persecution?  How about “D-o-n-a-l-d  T-r-u-m-p?” he answers.

Of course, anyone witnessing the Get Trump effort, who doesn’t see it as a means to keep Trump from campaigning, is probably among the 28 percent of voters who believe the country is on the right track.

Naturally, there’s much ado about his legal expenses, another reason for those seeking to keep him going from court to court.  But they can’t miss the point that Trump leads in the amount of free media time he gets compared to Haley.

I understand that millionaire Scientologists Grant and Elena Cardone are attempting to raise the $355 million Trump has been ordered to pay even though it is under appeal.

“It’s all about showing that when one of us is targeted for championing the values that make America great, he does not stand alone,” said Elena.

Why not?  Billionaire George Soros and his son are spending millions of dollars backing prosecutors across the country, including $1.1 million to groups who support Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg, currently with his eye on getting Trump.

THE CALIFORNIA SENATE SEAT

At a recent California senate candidate forum, Democrat Barbara Lee, said that she wants to increase the federal minimum wage to $50 per hour, stating that a recent survey indicated that a family of four in the Bay Area found it difficult to live on $124,000 a year.  If successful, an increase to $50 would yield an annual income of $100,000.  Oh, my.

May God continue to bless the United States of America.
