Paying College Students to Promote Voter Registration Termed Vote Buying

 Commentary

You’re probably tired of hearing about potential election fraud, generally surfaced by the former President Trump’s campaign around mail-in ballots, including their validation and harvesting.

However, you need to be aware of what Democrats are doing within the confines of the deep state in an effort to keep Trump off the ballot while protecting their incompetent incumbent, Joe Biden.

Listening to Vice President Harris speak is, in its self, something most of us avoid, grabbing the remote to click mute, but you need to know what she proudly announced this week.

In referencing what “we have been doing to promote voter participation for students,” she announced that ”under the Federal Work-Study program, we now allow students to get paid to register people and to be non-partisan poll workers.” Non-partisan? Really?

After citing this being important for a number of reasons, she only mentioned one – “to engage our young leaders in this process and activate them in terms of their ability to strengthen our communities.”

After posting her announcement on X (formerly Twitter) comments followed about voter fraud, ballot harvesting and stuffing, pay for play, student bribery, and more. Some questioned whether an out of state student can register a resident in the state where he is attending college. Can we be sure those registrations are checked?

Respondents drew a comparison of paying students working voter registration to Biden’s illegal student loan relief move as further student vote buying.

Simultaneously, the Biden administration announced how federal agencies would be promoting voter registration.  It’s a follow-up to an executive order of which you may not be aware.

In a 10-page executive order signed by President Biden just after he took office, on March 7, 2021, he begins with information relating to the Voting Rights Act of 1965, and the right to vote, with free and fair elections being the foundation of American democracy.

Just seven lines into the order, he notes that “many Americans, especially people of color, confront significant obstacles in exercising that fundamental right,” referring to “difficulties with voter registration, lack of election information and barriers to access at polling places,” and more.

Within the policy of his administration, he notes that it is the responsibility of the Federal Government to expand access to, and education about, voter registration.

He followed with the requirement that each of his agencies shall evaluate ways in which it can promote this effort – with websites, voter registration systems, vote-by-mail application forms, and soliciting the help of third-parties.

It all reads so appropriate, but is it?  These agencies, like agriculture, transportation, and interior, have primary duties that need proper attention.

Jumping off the document was this suggestion: “assisting applicants in completing voter registration and vote-by-mail application forms.”  Might this lead to helping individuals fill out a ballot, too?  Like seniors at an assisted living facility or union members at a union hall?

Biden ordered the head of each agency to, within 200 days, submit to the Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy (then Susan Rice), a strategic plan outlining the ways they will promote voter registration and participation.

The announcement this week revealed that Vote.gov signage would be posted in the 6,000 Social Security offices and HHS would be e-mailing voter registration information to people acquiring health insurance through the Affordable Care Act. There will be signage at our National Parks, too.

It wasn’t the first executive order Biden issued calling for a whole of government approach to address an issue.  He also instructed his agencies to develop plans for combatting racism and extremism and the development of diversity, inclusion and equity.

SLEEPY JOE

Finally …  I have selected President Biden to be the recipient of my March Fool’s Day recognition for his decision to visit the Texas border location with the least amount of illegal migrant traffic.  Matched only by his year late visit to East Palestine, Ohio, site of the disastrous train derailment.

May God continue to bless the United States of America.
