Commentary
Clearly, Biden Democrats are pulling out all the stops in an effort to keep former President Trump from returning to the presidency in 2024, insisting that he is a threat to democracy.
“The choice for voters will simply be between competing philosophies of government. The choice will be about protecting democracy and every American’s fundamental freedom.” – Julie Chavez Rodriguez, Biden’s Campaign Manager
“We are running our campaign like the fate of our democracy depends on it, because it does. The threat that Donald Trump posed in 2020 to American democracy has grown even more dangerous than it was when President Biden ran last time. Quentin Fulks, Biden Deputy Campaign Manager
“The campaign’s focus will become overwhelming on democracy.” – Mike Donilon, presidential advisor
With that agenda, on September 1, 2022, Biden stood in front of Independence Hall in Philadelphia with a bright red backdrop reminiscent of a 1940s scene in Nazi Germany, giving a speech designed not only call Trump a threat to democracy, but his MAGA supporters as well.
As I stand here tonight, equality and democracy are under assault. Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our Republic. And that is a threat to this country. It’s within our power, it’s in our hands, yours and mine, to stop the assault on American democracy.” – President Biden, September 1, 2022
Of course, the left-leaning media is cooperating:
“Biden campaign running ‘like the fate of our democracy depends on it.” – NPR
“Joe Biden makes saving democracy the center of his campaign.” – New Yorker
Politicization In Justice
When you consider Attorney General Merrick Garland’s appointment of Special Counsel Jack Smith to investigate Trump’s removing and retaining classified documents, and his role in the January 6 Capital riot, perhaps the most visible attempt to stop Trump came from Biden’s Department of Justice and its FBI. A clear example of the politicization of the DOJ.
“He’s a threat to democracy. I’m the threat? They’ve weaponized government, and he’s saying I’m a threat to democracy.” – Former President Trump
Further, when you consider that state attorney’s general and district attorneys involved in all of the other indictments against Trump, are Democrats, many elected with the funding of their elections by billionaire George Soros, the partisan effort is more obvious.
Making no effort to disguise her effort to get Trump, Letitia James campaigned on a pledge to get Trump while campaigning for New York’s District Attorney. And she is among those who claim to be following rule of law in their focus on democracy.
Not only is there an effort to keep Trump bogged down in court between now and the elections, a number of states attempted to keep him off their ballots. That move, in itself, was also seen as a means to disenfranchise voters by the left, a charge they often direct at Republicans.
Coincidentally, in Biden’s January Valley Forge speech, he told us “Democracy is on the ballot.”
Democracy in Action
Now, despite the bipartisan 9-0 Supreme Court decision forcing states to include the name of Donald Trump on ballots, a discouraged Maryland Democrat Rep. Jamie Raskin declared that he, along with colleagues Debbie Wasserman-Schultrz and Eric Swalwell, all with long records of anti-Trump actions, announced that he intends to revive legislation setting up the process “by which we could determine that someone who committed insurrection is disqualified by Section 3 of the 14th Amendment.” You may recall, it was Raskin was behind the Trump impeachment efforts.
Apparently letting people stay on the ballot so voters can decide matters is a betrayal of democracy. Former sports analyst and now political commentator Keith Olbermann opined that the Supreme Court, including its liberal members, have “betrayed democracy” and unbelievably stated the court “must be dissolved.”
There’s More
In a democracy, how can a president open a border to millions of unvetted migrants to roam the country seeking a place to live with housing, health care, education, and debit cards to purchase food at taxpayer expense? All while American citizens are living payday to payday.
In a democracy, how can a president ignore the decision of the Supreme Court to give student debt relief?
“I think it’s a great place for the Republicans to be come November if Democrats want to make the presidential election about democracy, while Republicans make the border crisis and the economy their causes.” – Matt Mackowiak,Texas Republican strategist.
Not all of the left-leaning media are on board
“Biden’s Pro-Democracy Message Is Too Negative and Too Narrow.” – The Nation
“American democracy is tottering. It’s not clear Americans care.” – Vox.com
Obviously aware of Biden’s messaging on democracy, earlier this month Trump turned the tables on him, accusing the president of conspiring against the United States with his policies at the southern border. “He talks about democracy. He is a danger to democracy.”
The Washington Post responded with a piece headlined, “Trump deflects anti-democracy criticism; accuses Biden, without evidence, of conspiring against U.S.”
The evidence is clear.
On the other hand, the left states that Trump is a threat to democracy with no evidence of that risk as they freely throw around the term “insurrection” when he was never charged with it.
May God continue to bless the United States of America.
