The Leftist Media has the Corner on Lying and Liars

Commentary

Last month, I wrote that it was Donald Trump’s Republican Party now, including changes at the RNC that included the resignation of Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel and the naming of Michael Whatley and Lara Trump as co-chairs.

I chose not to elaborate on that change, believing that the former president, as the presumptive presidential candidate, should have his team there just as new CEOs and even football coaches often bring their own staffs.

I was surprised that NBC had hired McDaniel because she simply doesn’t fit in the network’s leftist mold. I thought the story would be short-lived, but I was wrong. The uproar at the network’s MSNBC channel, by the likes of Rachel Maddow, Joy Reid, Jen Psaki and Lawrence O’Donnell, was not only appalling, but journalistically unprofessional.

I have noted that the story still has legs.  Dan Richardson of Stevensville, Maryland, in a letter to the editor of the Wall Street Journal, wrote, “Ms. McDaniel should never have been hired by NBC.  Since NBC is an openly proud communications department of the Democrat Party, why should they hire a Republican?”

Psaki would have us believe that only she, while working for Obama and Biden, was “paired with honesty and good faith,” and that with McDaniel and Trump, “this is about truth versus lies.”

How often did we see her standing before the White House press corps, defending the lies of Russian collusion and defending the foreign policy failures of Biden?

LAWRENCE O’DONNELL (I get The Last Word here, Lawrence.)

It was a remark by O’Donnell, however, that spurred me to comment on the hiring and firing of McDaniel.  Sitting with Maddow and Reid, exchanging thoughts on the importance of truth in broadcasting, O’Donnell, with a smirk, said, “I stopped inviting Trump liars on this program in 2016.”

We can assume from that remark that O’Donnell wants nothing to do with people who lie, yet how many times did he interview John Brennan and Andrew McCabe, two men from the deep state of the government intelligence community, who lied in testimony, after they became analysts on MSNBC?

Brennan, who became known as the most talented liar in Washington after revelations of his testimony on CIA torture, the drone programs and improperly spying on U. S. Senate staffers, joined MSNBC in February 2018.

“Mr. Trump’s claims of no collusion are, in a word, hogwash,” Brennan said in an August 16, 2018 op-ed he wrote for the New York Times.  That was all Maddow needed to invite him on her show.

“When I said Mr. Trump claims of no collusion are hogwash,” he tells Maddow, “It’s because there is collusion I think in open sight now.”  Unbelievably, he cited Trump’s jokingly call to the Russians to find Hillary Clinton’s e-mails as proof.

There was gloom and a heavy dose of skepticism on the faces of those “reporters” at MSNBC and CNN in March of 2019 when the Mueller Report was published finding no sufficient evidence was found to indict President Trump for unlawful conspiracy with Russia, obstruction of justice, or any other impeachable high crimes and misdemeanors.

Just weeks before Mueller’s findings were made public, Brennan, an obvious fierce critic of Trump, had predicted members of the Trump family would be indicted.

Still determined to get Trump, Brennan coordinated the writing of a letter signed by 51 former intelligence officials fabricated to help Biden defeat Trump in 2020 by distracting from the salacious material found on Hunter Biden’s laptop.

Brennan declared the laptop contents had the “classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.”

Meanwhile, over at CNN, James Clapper, former DNI under Obama, denied that he lied under oath.  “I didn’t lie, I made a big mistake,” confusing discussions of two different programs.  When asked if the NSA collects any type of data at all on millions or hundreds of millions of Americans, he said, “No sir.  Not wittingly.” Three months later it was revealed that the NSA had been spying.

CNN hired Andrew McCabe, former FBI deputy director, knowing he was fired from the agency for “lacking candor” (lying) during an internal probe by the Inspector General. He lied four times, three while under oath.

This past week, Erin Burnett at CNN, in her role as one of her network’s protectors of the Biden presidency, asked Robert F. Kennedy Jr. about his statement about Biden being a worse threat than Trump to democracy:

“I can make the argument that President Biden is a much worse threat to democracy.  The reason for that is President Biden is the first candidate in history, the first man in history that has used federal agencies to censor political speech, so to censor his opponent.”

Elizabeth May of Fernandina Beach, Florida, writing in a letter to the editor of the Wall Street Journal referenced NBC’s talent of denial of facts, such as Hunter Biden’s laptop and the lack of proof reporting the Trump-Russia collusion, as “stunning.”

There are lies, misinformation, and things not reported.  Obviously, MSNBC and CNN have their own credo that permits them to hire and interview liars, as long as they aren’t Republicans..

Then there’s the New York Times, no longer the paper of record. Its coverage of the slain police officer was buried on Page A21 and it purposely didn’t include Stephanie Diller’s admonishment in the eulogy of her husband Police Officer Jonathan Diller:

“How many more police officers and how many families have to make the ultimate sacrifice before we start protecting them?”

Voters are beginning to recognize that law and order is not a priority of the Democrat Party.

The Biden administration refuses to acknowledge that its lack of vetting at the border has permitted the previously deported and repeat offenders who rape and kill American citizens, while favoring the criminal, appear to be the order of the day for left-leaning district attorneys and judges.

May God continue to bless the United States of America.
