As if You Needed a Reminder of the Future Under Biden

Commentary

NOTE: This blog went into as holding pattern for 24 hours when I chose to comment on the Biden-Harris response to the verdict on former President Trump.

It’s difficult for me to imagine another four years under Biden-Harris, but more so what kind of person would vote for the Democrats in November, when each day provides us with additional reminders of the incompetence in the administration.

Foreign Policy Warnings

“I think he (Biden) has been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades.” –Robert Gates, former Secretary of Defense, 2014

BIDEN NEEDS NOTE CARDS

“I opposed the raid that killed bin Laden.” Vice President Biden, January 30, 2012

“Don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to f**k things up.” – Former President Obama, 2022

Here’s what you should know.  Almost everyone who paid attention to Afghanistan saw it coming – everyone, that is, expect Biden and his inner circle of advisors.” – Sen. James Inhofe, Foreign Policy.com, 2022

Now, here we are, mired in two wars in which our military is only technically involved in support of our role as the major supplier of war materials to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan – $95 billion worth in the latest bill – and there’s no end in sight.

“Biden Foreign Policy Has Destabilized the Entire Globe.” Athena Thorne, PJ Media, May 29, 2024

And Biden’s lack of foreign policy experience has again surfaced; most recently interjecting himself into Netanyahu’s plan to slow walk the effort to rid Gaza of Hamas, while politically trying to keep his Michigan progressives calm.

Even as he attempted to provide humanitarian relief to Gaza’s civilians, his plan to construct a pier off the Gaza shore to help facilitate aid deliveries was a disaster.  The pier was not intended to be used in waters with waves higher than three feet, and three-foot waves are common in that area.

CONSTRUCTION OF A PIER ON GAZA SHORE WAS A $320 MILLION FAILURE

After spending $320 million of defense money to construct the pier under difficult conditions resulting in three non-combat injuries to our service members, bad weather caused significant damage.  What’s left of the pier is being moved and repaired in a different location with no deliveries ever made from the initial location.

“Busted Gaza Pier Has All the Markings of a Joe Biden Op.” Jim Geraghty, National Review, May 29, 2024

“Joe Biden’s foreign policy decisions are just laughable,” wrote Nick Arama in RedState, May 28, 2024

Meanwhile, Back to the Campaign

While RedState reports a “A Full-Blown Freakout: Democrats are having a panic attack over Joe Biden’s electoral prospects,” we learn that the left-leaning Politico has assigned five reporters on the “freakout.”

And Rasmussen Reports that “54% of Democrats Now Approve of Dumping Biden.”

Back to Philadelphia

Obviously concerned by Trump’s crowd of 100,000 in New Jersey and 10,000 in the Bronx, Biden and Harris went to Philadelphia to pander blacks, but they couldn’t even fill half of the Girard College gymnasium.

BIDEN AND HARRIS COULDN’T FILL A SMALL GYMNASIUM AT GIRARD COLLEGE.

While Biden was telling the audience Trump was “peddling lies” and “pandering” to blacks, it was Biden who reeled off tales of his support of black communities.

Just as they were out trying to win back black votes, there are others who are attempting to remake Harris because there’s a lot of concern going into the election that with Joe’s age and missteps she’s not prepared for the presidency.

When Nikki Haley said, “You know what should send a chill up every person’s spine?  The thought of a President Kamala Harris,”  during her campaign, attention turned to Harris.

Time to call on Washington Post’s black columnist Eugene Robinson, always ready to carry the water for Biden-Harris.  He can deliver a “two fer.”

His opinion piece, a laugher, “Why Vice President Harris is prepared to step in as commander in chief,” was just what the White House was looking for as he led with, “Vice presidents don’t typically get to make foreign policy, but I can’t think of any vice president who has become steeped in international affairs more quickly and more thoroughly than Kamala Harris.”

With her approval ratings in the 37 to 39 percent range, their work is cut out for them.

While the left-leaning Politico and Vox recognized early that Harris was not known for her foreign relations creds, they pumped up the press coverage on her.  While Politico’s piece was “Harris gets a crash course on foreign policy,” Vox said of her foreign policy experience, “It’s more robust than you might think.”  There are doubters:

“I don’t see her as much of a foreign policy leader,” – Justin Logan, a foreign policy expert at the Catholic University of America.

“She obviously has very limited experience in the field,”  – Emma Ashford, research fellow in defense and foreign policy at the CATO Institute.

In “The Unsinkable Kamala Harris,” William McGurn’s Wall Street Journal column, he put forth the Democrat Party dilemma in replacing her, despite the desire among many who would like that to happen.  “Could the Democrat Party today really pass over its black, female, Indian-American vice president for any one of the white candidates usually mentioned?” he asked.  They could if it were Michelle Obama, he suggested, but “she shows no desire to insert herself into the election mess that Mr. Biden has created for himself.”

The Union Vote

If the Biden-Harris campaign hasn’t already noticed, Joe Biden, who claims to be the most pro-union president ever, will probably need to go back to Michigan again soon. Trump recently visited a union site in New York City and got a warm welcome, where the leader indicated the workers were pro-Trump.

In the Wall Street Journal article, “Why Trump Could Win The Union Vote,” the authors wrote, “Despite President Biden’s pro=labor policies, many working class Americans feel the GOP better represents their values.”

Biden’s All-Electric Dream

Since Biden took office in January 2021, Americans’ electricity bills have skyrocketed nearly 30 percent, or 13 times faster than in the previous seven years, according to the Wall Street Journal.

NOTE THE $1.89 PRICE PER GALLON OF GAS IN MINNEAPOLIS JUST DAYS AFTER THE GEORGE FLOYD RIOTS IN MAY 2020. IT WAS $3.37 THERE AND $3.97 IN PHOENIX AS I WROTE THIS. THANKS, JOE.

Prices at the pump, in supermarkets, wherever we purchase goods, are all rising primarily due to the New Green Deal, with its effort to cut off fossil fuels, needed for deliveries across the nation.

Do I need to remind you that Biden has committed more than $1 trillion to fight climate change, and impossible challenge.

Three years ago, Biden proudly signed a bill to spend $7.5 billion on electric vehicle charging stations to be constructed across the nation, but today, just seven have been built.  Automobile dealers are complaining about lots filled with EVs nobody wants, and the lack of charging stations in sufficient numbers and locations is one reason.

I’ve only touched on …

… a few foreign policy and domestic issue failures.  Immigration continues to be major concern as we taxpayers are providing funds to illegal migrants for housing, medical care, food and education.

In addition to auto emissions, his plans for mandating energy changes to our everyday products like washers and dryers, dish washers, ceiling fans, etc. will continue.

If Biden wins, Biden plans to end the 2017 Trump tax cuts, due to expire on December 31, 2025.  He hasn’t explained how he can do so and keep his promise of new tax for those making $400,000.

In addition, if enacted, Biden’s proposed American Families Plan (AFB), would include a “death tax.”  It’s double taxation – when you earn the money and again when you die and pass along your estate. Untaxed gains on investments held at death, like stock, a residence or real estate, would likely be taxed at a top rate of 39.6 percent, above an exemption of $1 million per individual, plus $250,000 more for a residence

We can count on Biden to continue to make our lives miserable in the 243 days until – hopefully – a Trump inauguration.

May God continue to bless the United States of America.
