Despite my lingering disgust with the left over their weaponization of the justice system to keep Donald Trump in courts during his campaign, I’m conflated on what should be done regarding the Biden cover-up scandal.
At one point, I just wanted to put the Biden era in the rearview mirror and move on with the Trump agenda, but facts continue to dribble out, causing me to have mixed feelings.
Biden isn’t making it any easier as he has surfaced to comment negatively about Trump.
We all knew he wasn’t in charge, but when questioned about his ability to continue as president and run for reelection, his simple response was, “Watch me.” We did, and we didn’t like what we saw and heard.
Looking back, for many people it was Biden’s disastrous performance in the June 28, 2024, debate with Trump that convinced them that he wasn’t up to the job.
But one need only read the words of Special Counsel Robert K. Hur in his October 8, 2023, interview with Biden over the classified material he had in his possession in several locations:
“We conclude the evidence is not sufficient to convict, and we decline to recommend prosecution. We have also considered that at trial, Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did with our interview with him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.”
At the time, I believed it was obvious he didn’t have the capacity to be president and commander-in-chief of the United States, a superpower.
We ought to know who controlled the autopen if the document signed committed us to a particular ideology or pardon, including the entire Biden family.
There were the staggering number of 1,200 presidential documents signed, including the appointments of 235 judges, but worse, he pardoned murderers, one of whom brutally murdered an eight-year-old boy and his mother.
Regular readers may recall my belief in accountability. No fine or jail time necessarily, but a hearing or hearings that result in his being held accountable for what he did or didn’t do as our president. A heavy tarnish needs to be attached to his legacy.
When asked if First Lady Jill Biden should be subpoenaed, President Trump showed compassion, indicating he wouldn’t favor that.
When Biden was confronted with what we had learned from the generals advising him on the Afghanistan withdrawal, we were left with his response that he “didn’t recall.“ The result was the unnecessary deaths of 13 military service members and the wounding of hundreds of others, with no accountability.
Finally, I find it difficult to dismiss Biden’s repeated cautions of the risks we faced in our democracy if voters permitted Trump back in the White House while he and his party ignored our democracy in the manner in which the Democrat Party selected its candidate.
And there were his references to Hitler, Nazi’s and the Gestapo in his attacks on Trump and MAGA.
May God continue to bless the United States of American.
