Revisiting First Lady Jill Biden’s All-In Stance

Commentary

Researching the goings-on in politics, I found it interesting that I wasn’t the only one critical of First Lady Jill Biden.

During an appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored, Megyn Kelly, who now comments daily on Sirius Radio, said the first lady has been “exposed” as a “power-hungry aspirant herself to political power.”

I retrieved the 2021 photo I used of the first lady at her husband’s desk on Air Force One to support my claim that she’s the one guiding the president’s every activity.

FIRST LADY Jill Biden, closest advisor to the president, busy in power preparation.

Kelly told Morgan how the first lady posted that photo on her Twitter @FLOTUS with the words, “Prepping for the G7.”

“Was she telling us even then who was doing the work behind the scenes?” Kelly asked, “She’s not the damn president! Get out of the chair!  No one elected you to lead us politically.”

Following the Debate

Leaving the stage, Joe turned to Jill saying, “You know, Jill, I don’t know what happened. I don’t feel great.”  “Look, Joe,” she said, “ we are not going to let 90 minutes define the four years that you’ve been president.”

“Suddenly, a first lady who had skirted major controversies over the past three and a half years found herself in the cross hairs of people who believe she has been trying to hide his diminished faculties,” wrote Katie Rogers in the New York Times.

“What Jill Biden and the Biden campaign did to Joe Biden tonight – rolling him out on stage to engage in battle of wits while unarmed – is elder abuse, plain and simple,” wrote Wyoming’s Republican Rep. Harriet M. Hageman in a social media post.

“CRUEL JILL CLINGS TO POWER” was the headline on a piece in the right-leaning, The Drudge Report

In the RedState conservative blog, Nick Arama wrote about the first lady in a “meltdown” lashing out at those who want her husband to bow out.

“Madame Iron Fist,” he wrote, “doesn’t want to give up the seat of power no matter how much it embarrasses the man she claims to love or how much it endangers the nation.

“She’s going to go down in history as a horrible human being.”

“The pile on against Jill Biden is disgusting but hardly surprising.  As usual, blame the woman, every man’s default position since f***ing Adam and Eve. – Bette Midler, Movie celebrity

If anyone can convince President Joe Biden to make a graceful exit, it’s his wife of 47 years.  But for anxious Democrats hoping Jill Biden will step in, don’t hold your breath.” –  Kate Anderson Browner, author of “First Women”

It Shouldn’t Have Been a Surprise

It seems as though everyone except Jill Biden knew that Joe’s age told the story of what was on the horizon.  Jill sat down for an exclusive interview with Mika Brzezinski on MSNBC’s Morning Joe back in January, prepared to handle the question of Joe’s advanced age.

“Your husband is 81,” Mika began, “at the end of a second term, he’s be 86.  As his life partner for 46 years, is there a part of you that is worried about his age and health?  Can he do it?”

“He can do it,” Jill responded, as she defended her husband, not expecting laughter from Mika, considered a friendly interviewer. Some suspected Mika was laughing with her more than at her.

Of course, the president’s age and cognizance has been the topic of discussion long before the debate.

Finally, putting the bad debate performance behind her, Jill flew to Traverse City, Michigan, where she greeted a small crowd at the opening of a campaign office on the city’s outskirts, where Biden vs Trump predictions were mixed.

May God continue to bless the United States of America.
