Biden Administration Was in Cahoots With the SPLC

Commentary

“We’re in a battle for the very soul of America.  I ran for president in 2020 because of what I saw in Charlottesville in August of 2017.  Extremists coming out of the woods carrying torches, their veins bulging from their necks, carrying Nazi swastikas and chanting the same exact antisemitic bile that was heard in Germany in the early 30s.”

Biden, SPLC promoter

Joe Biden made that statement on the Charlottesville riot several times between his 2020 and 2024 campaigns, including an attack on the reference that “there were fine people on both sides,” made by President Trump.  Then Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer claimed that Trump “called white supremacists in Charlottesville ‘very good people.’”

“We condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred and violence on many sides, on many sides … very fine people on both sides,” said President Trump.

Snopes, the left-leaning fact checking website issue a statement saying, “While Trump did say that there were ‘very fine people on both sides,’ he also specifically noted that he was not talking about neo-Nazis and White supremacists and said they should be ‘condemned totally.’ Therefore, we have rated this claim ‘False.”

I recall that the fact check came just days before first Biden-Trump debate and vindicated Trump’s longstanding argument that the remarks were taken out of context before they quickly spread on social media and were promoted by the left and members of the media.

Despite the revelation of the hoax, Biden and the media continued to quote Trump out of context, again at the Chicago Democrat National Convention in August 2024, when Biden added that in Charlottesville, “I knew the threat to this nation was unlike any I had ever seen in my lifetime.”

Every time I heard Biden refer to the “veins bursting from the necks” of the extremists, I marveled how he could have possibly seen that. It wasn’t visible in the television coverage and he certainly wasn’t there.

In fact, in a piece by NPR on the sixth anniversary, Deepa Shivaram wrote, “As much as Biden talked about Charlottesville, some residents are wondering why he hasn’t visited the town.”

So, why do I surface this episode of the past attempt to paint Trump as a supporter of white supremacy?

During a hearing by the House Judiciary Committee this week, following the indictment of the Southern Poverty Law Center, the organization was accused of bankrolling the 2017 “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville.

Charged with secretly paying informants to engage in actively promoting and funding racists groups while denouncing and “fighting” the very same groups in public, the SPLC reportedly paid a leader nearly $300,000 to post racist messages, organize, and even transport people to Charlottesville to protest.

The Southern Poverty Law Center’s financial growth reportedly surged from public support and assets of over $51 million to $133 million by October 2017, including a $1 million contribution by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) Resorts.

With Biden’s repeated story telling about how the Charlottesville convinced him to run for president, one could say he was a spokesman for the SPLC.

The SPLC helped train prosecutors in Biden’s Department of Justice and was given exclusive access to federal hate crime databases to help draft talking points during Biden’s administration, according to the New York Post.

The partnership was one of several that the Biden DOJ’s Civil Rights Division cultivated with left-wing organizations to help shape its approach on issues such as “election security,” “racial profiling guidance,” “anti-LGBTQ violence,” and other hate crimes, according to internal emails, memos, schedules and records.

Thousands of documents detailing the association were obtained by the conservative group America First Legal (AFL) as part of a years-long inquiry into the Biden administration’s law enforcement priorities, beginning with Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests that resulted in litigation.

All part of the weaponization of Biden’s DOJ.

A SIDE ISSUE

With all of the media photos of the tattoo on the chest of Maine Senatorial candidate Graham Plattner looking like a pile of dog poop, I thought I would show you the skull and crossbones on a Nazi SS cap.

May God continue to bless the United States of America.
