The president continues to say that the only alternative to his nuclear deal with Iran is war, and used a ridiculous analogy in making his case that Republicans want to go to war with Iran.
“Many of the same people who argued for the war in Iraq are now making the case against the Iran nuclear deal,” he told an American University audience yesterday. Need he be reminded that 29 Democrat Senators, including Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden, were among those voting in favor of the Iraq resolution?
Acting more like the commander-in-cheap, he likened the Republicans to the hard-liners in Iran saying, “It’s those hard-liners chanting ‘Death to America’ who have been most opposed to the deal. They’re making common cause with the Republican caucus.” How insulting! How unstatesman like. Someone failed to tell him that they’ve already selected a new host for The Daily Show.
Then there was the ultra-liberal Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s slam at Republicans wanting to defund Planned Parenthood.
For those of you who just arrived from another planet, we taxpayers give Planned Parenthood a half billion dollars annually, much of which is being used to perform abortions and to market fetal body parts.
Senator Warren opened her speech on the Senate floor saying, “I simply cannot believe that in the year 2015, the U.S. Senate would be spending its time trying to defund women’s health-care centers.” She followed with, “The Republicans have had a plan for years to strip away women’s rights to make choices over our own bodies.” No, we Republicans place more value on human lives, and don’t believe taxpayers should pay for taking lives and splitting up the organs for sale.
Hillary Clinton wasn’t to be left out. When GOP presidential candidate Jeb Bush questioned the half billion dollar handout to Planned Parenthood, she attacked Bush saying, “I would like to ask him, Governor Bush, try telling that to the mom who caught her breast cancer early because she was able to get screening in time. Was her health not worth the money?”
Of course, Clinton knows that thousands of women detect cancer in the early stages every day at clinics and hospitals across the country, where Medicaid covers screening for cancer and numerous other diseases. However, she will say anything to perpetuate the phony GOP war on women
Clinton failed to condemn Planned Parenthood’s marketing of fetal baby parts, saying only that the organization “has apologized for the insensitivity of the employee who was taped,” and that it offers “important services.” She then went on to attack those who produced the undercover video that exposed the selling of baby parts.
It reminds me of September 2013 when she decided to blame a video for the Benghazi killings saying “We will make sure that person who made the film is arrested and prosecuted.”
Meanwhile, unfavorable opinions of Clinton are going up according to the latest Wall Street Journal /NBC Poll. In July her unfavorable percentage among white women with a college degree went up from 38 to 47 percent. Among independents, her unfavorable percentage is at 52 percent while just 27 percent had a positive opinion.
Most dramatic was the polling among blacks, where 81 percent supported her in June and now 66 percent are listed as favorable in the latest poll.
Voters are beginning to see though the war on women being used a cover and see Hillary Clinton for what she is – untrustworthy.
