Biden, Harris latest to call for repeal of tax cut … leftist Montini at it again … foolish concern Trump won’t leave office if he loses … jail journalists? … ‘Crazy Al’ still pushing impeachment … Trump’s approval up … CNN poll surprises … the ‘Bill and Hill Show” … and Biden instills confidence

Here are my observations and opinions on my selected news of the day.

TWO DEMOCRAT CANDIDATES for president, Apology-Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, are the latest to make it known that the first thing they would do is to repeal the Trump tax cuts.

Both candidates didn’t mention that repealing the tax cut isn’t that simple, and they failed to recognize that a typical family of four earning the median income of $75,000 saw a tax cut of $2,000 – a 58 percent reduction in federal taxes. A single parent with one child with an annual income of $41,000 saw a tax cut of $1,304 – a 73 percent reduction in federal taxes.

Interestingly, the New York Times said, “Most people got a tax cut, “and the Washington Post gave Biden’s claim that only high-income households received a tax cut four Pinocchio’s, noting it was “clearly false.”

LEFTIST ARIZONA REPUBLIC columnist E. J. Montini is at it again. Within a few days of writing a column extolling the attributes of Mark Kelly, a Democrat who hopes to unseat Sen. Martha McSally in 2020, Montini writes a column in support of Democrat Sen. Kyrsten Sinema.

Montini has joined other leftist colleagues claiming to be journalists, who use their newspaper space or on-air time to mislead their audience with their wacko charge that Attorney General Bill Barr has “decided he is President Trump’s personal attorney rather than the chief law enforcement officer of the land.”

Kramerontheright knows that Montini was writing his column in April 2013, when President Obama’s attorney general, Eric Holder, told the media, “I’m still the president’s wing-man, so I’m there with my boy.” The arrogant Montini hopes his readers have amnesia.

Montini seemingly wants Sinema to come down on Barr, who, after meeting with him, and thoughtfully considering his nomination, believed that Barr met her criteria.

CRAZY NANCY PELOSI SPEAKS and the media fall in line. When Pelosi claimed that Trump might not leave office if he loses by a close margin in 2020, MSNBC host Joy Reid gave credence to it without hesitation, saying, “there is a very real possibility that the president of the United States wants to have foreign interference again so that he can stay (in) office (and) he doesn’t have any intention of committing to a peaceful transition of power.”

SHE WASN’T ALONE – Over at CNN, liberal commentator Kirsten Powers called it a “reasonable thing to worry about.” Fortunately, former Trump campaign advisor Steve Cortes responded with, “(I) can’t believe we’re talking about this,” calling the panel discussion about it “absurd.”

SPEAKING OF THE MEDIA – What better time to repeat the question of Roger L. Simon of PJ Media for you: “Should Journalists Go to Jail for Spreading Russia Lies.”

A supporter of the First Amendment, Simon writes “I am inclined to reply an automatic ‘no’ to my own headline,” but he favors a penalty of some kind, “indeed a serious one, should be levied for misinforming the public on the most important subject of our day, which has happened repeatedly over the past few years.

“When these prevarications can be shown to have been deliberate, to have been done knowingly, difficult as that may be to prove, the line to sedition may have been crossed and there is an argument the reporters involved should face legal consequences. They should be fired,” Simon added.

That’s unlikely to happen since most reporters were simply following the anti-Trump agenda of their employers at the Times, Post, CNN or MSNBC.

Unfortunately, reporting is an occupation with no official standards like the law or medicine – no professional organization to take away their ability to practice law or medicine.

REP. AL GREEN, who represents much of Houston, Texas, was one of the first lawmakers to call for the impeachment. Appearing on MSNBC Saturday, he said, “I’m concerned if we don’t impeach this president, he will get re-elected. If we don’t impeach him, he will say he’s been vindicated.”

HAVE YOU HEARD that a new Gallup Poll shows President Trump’s job approval rating hitting a new high of 46 percent? While Gallup comments that polling below 50 percent “isn’t a good place to be for an incumbent,” Barrack Obama’s job approval at the same point in his presidency (April 2011) was 44 percent, and he still managed to find a way to win in 2012.

WHILE ON THE SUBJECT OF POLLS – A new CNN poll revealed that the American public (44 percent) increasingly feels that Democrats in Congress are going too far in investigating the president. The result stems largely from Independents, who agreed at 46 percent.

The poll also revealed that 69 percent think Congress ought to investigate the origins of the Justice Department’s inquiry into Russian interference, including 76 percent of Democrats, 69 percent of Independents and 62 percent Republicans.

HOW MUCH WOULD YOU PAY to see Bill and Hillary Clinton chat on stage? During a recent appearance in Las Vegas, some tickets were going for over a thousand dollars and others for a few hundred dollars, but in an effort to pad the audience tickets were going for $15, and some for $10 at StubHub. Later, in California, tickets went for as little as $2, according to Matt Margolis of PJ Media.

POOR APOLOGY-JOE BIDEN – There he was during a previous campaign, being interviewed by then CBS anchor Katie Couric, telling her that “what a leader does is to instill confidence by demonstrating that he or she knows what their talking about.”

During that interview he cited the example of how Franklin Roosevelt went on TV to calm the American public during the stock market crash.

I was born a decade after the crash, but even I know that Herbert Hoover was president at the time (1929) and Roosevelt wasn’t elected until 1933. And incidentally, TV didn’t come on the scene until 1939.

What was that about a leader instilling confidence, Joe?    CLICK HERE to see the brief video of the interview.

May God bless the United States of America.
