Here are my observations and opinions on my selected news of the day.
THE FIVE MINUS ONE (annieliebovitz for vogue)
AHH, THE WOMEN WHO WANT TO BE PRESIDENT, hypocrites all. They like to say they support women and women’s issues, but when the snooty Vogue magazine invited them to be photographed for its feature, “Madam President? Five Candidates on What it Will Take to Shatter the Most Stubborn Glass Ceiling,” not one of them refused to participate if Marianne Williamson wasn’t included.

You see, Vogue had made a decision to make it only about the elected candidates. Proving that it was easy to explain-away their lame decision to these “elected” individuals, all five women – Harris, Warren, Klobuchar, Gabbard and Gillibrand – agreed to be photographed by none other than Annie Leibovitz while they were yukking it up and giving each other high-fives. Who was that other woman again?
Clearly, Williamson didn’t appreciate being dissed by Vogue. It was an unjust insult. “The framers of the Constitution were very clear about who’s qualified to run for president, and they did not make any media, certainly not Vogue magazine, the gatekeeper here,” she said.
A SENIOR FBI OFFICIAL ADMITTED in writing and under oath, that the agency found Clinton e-mail records in the Obama White House, specifically, the Executive Office of the President, reports Judicial Watch in its July edition of Verdict.
“E.W. (Bill) Priestap, former assistant director of the FBI Counterintelligence Division, made the disclosure to Judicial Watch as part of a court-ordered discovery into the Clinton e-mail issue.
U.S. District Court Judge Royce Lamberth ordered Obama administration senior State Department officials, lawyers and Clinton aides, as well as Priestap, to be deposed or answer written questions under oath.

NIKE STOCK SURGED two percent following their decision to call off the sale of the so-called Betsy Ross Flag sneaker, officially the Air Max 1 USA shoe, adding $3 billion to the company’s market value. I call that un-American.
TULSI GABBARD, one of the Democrat presidential wannabe’s, didn’t let the fact that she didn’t watch President Trump’s Fourth of July Salute to America stop her from commenting on it.
The self-serving politician that he is, Trump has succeeded in make July 4th about himself, and in doing so, further divided our country. This on a day when our nation’s president should be uniting us.” – Rep. Tulsi Gabbard
REP. BETTY MC COLLUMN, another liberal Minnesota Democrat, also felt an obligation to comment on the President’s Salute to America though she obviously didn’t bother to watch it.
“Mr. Trump hijacked the celebration and twisted it into a taxpayer-funded partisan political rally that’s more about promoting a Trumpian cult of personality than the spirit of American independence and freedom. – Rep. Betty McCollum
DEMOCRAT AMY KLOBUCHAR again spoke without knowing the facts as she voiced concern that the streets of the nation’s capital would buckle as the Army tanks rolled down the parade route. Those tanks were on static display.
Poor, Amy, her presidential campaign must be wearing on her.
THE NEW YORK POST noted that President Trump’s address was free of any partisan politics.
“The president recounted episodes from the Revolutionary and Civil Wars, as well the suffragette and civil rights movements – and praised the ‘American spirit that emboldened our founders,’ and ‘runs deep through the veins of every American patriot.’
“’It is this spirit – daring and defiant, excellence and adventure, courage and confidence, loyalty and love – that built this country into the most exceptional nation in the history of the world.’” – The New York Post
PRESIDENT OBAMA may have seen that as partisan since he had difficulty saying that America was “exceptional.”
DEMOCRATS PREDICTED that President Trump would make his speech on the Fourth of July all about himself and further divide the nation. “None of that happened,” wrote John Nolte for Breitbart.
“It was a perfect way to celebrate the Fourth, a wonderful, stirring, and unifying event, and where I had been indifferent to the idea before Trump pulled it off, I am now in favor of making this an annual tradition regardless who’s president,” Nolte added.

LEGISLATIVE UNDERCOVER – It was revealed that freshman Rep. Veronica Escobar has been sending members of her staff to the Mexican border town of Ciudad Juarez in secret to coach asylum seekers on how to game the system and make it to the U.S.
They sought out migrants returned from El Paso, Texas under the “remain in Mexico” policy and coached them to pretend they cannot speak Spanish to exploit a loophole allowing them to return to the U.S., according to Rick Moran in the Washington Examiner.
Ordinarily, a member of the legislature would be disciplined for carrying out something like this, but don’t expect Speaker Pelosi to push for that. Nolte says Escobar will probably get a medal.
ONE FIFTH of all federal prison inmates are not U.S. citizens, according to Paul Bedard of the Washington Examiner, reporting on data from the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
Of the 35,009 “criminal aliens,” 60 percent (21, 627) are Mexican, an analysis revealed Columbia, the Dominican Republic and Cuba each have more than 1,000 in prison on immigration charges.
