Whistleblowing predicted in 2017 … looking back … it’s time Mr. Horowitz … Dem candidates ordered to gin-up impeachment support … Biden has a pair … CNN cries and lies … impeachment brings government to a close … DNC’s hard sell to donors … and Sanders and Booker have problems

Here are my observations and opinions from my selected news of the day.

TAKING A LOOK BACK – I frequently comment on how the threat of impeachment and the Deep State resistance dates back to the president’s inauguration.

UNDERMINING OUR DEMOCRACY (thegatewaypundit)

Interestingly, the author of the blog, NEO, surfaced examples of this partisan effort, and published an excerpt from the February 1, 2017 issue of Vanity Fair … that’s just 12 days after President Trump’s inauguration.

Interesting because it reveals plans to whistle-blow and leak to the press.  Here is that excerpt:

“(We) view resistance as part of the job. ‘Policy dissent is in our culture,’ one diplomat in Africa, who signed the letter circulating among foreign diplomats, told The New York Times.

“’We even have awards for it,’” this person added, in reference to the State Department’s “Constructive Dissent” award.

“One Justice Department employee told the Post, “You’re going to see the bureaucrats using time to their advantage, and added that “people here will resist and push back against orders they find unconscionable,” by whistle-blowing, leaking to the press, and lodging internal complaints.

“Others are staying in contact with officials appointed by President Obama to learn about how they can undermine Trump’s agenda and attending workshops on how to effectively engage in civil disobedience,” the Post reports.

THE RESULT, as we are aware, was more than “resistance.”  It was part of an un-American internal coup to dislodge Trump from the presidency.  And it continues today, despite multiple unsuccessful efforts.

“IT’S WORTH TAKING A CLOSER LOOK at the motives of and allegations of political operatives in intelligence agencies, as well as the basic timeline of allegations of Russian electoral interference in the last few months,” wrote Mollie Hemingway in a January 17, 2017 issue of The Federalist. “Far from discrediting Trump, it paints a worrisome portrait of the Deep State gone rogue, desperate to stop a man who, whatever his considerable flaws, is an outsider to Washington.”

IT’S TIME, MR. HOROWITZ, IT’S TIME – to release your long-promised DOJ IG report, that must surely identify members of the Deep State, who have disgraced our Democracy with their partisan covert activities designed to undermine President Trump’s presidency.

DEMOCRATS IN CYA MODE – While Democrats are plotting their all-out offensive against President Trump as they pursue his impeachment, Rep. Cheri Bustos (D-IL), who is leading the party’s campaign arm, is advising members, especially those who are vulnerable, to gauge support in their home districts during the current recess.

At a dinner party in California’s Orange County, where Democrats took four seats formerly held by Republicans in 2028, three of the victors were following party leadership instructions to “educate the public about the impeachment process and gin up support for it,” all while making a pitch for donations.  Laughingly, Rep. Harley Rouda warned Democrats not to “sit on our laurels.”  What laurels?

APPARENTLY, BIDEN HAS A PAIR, because it takes them to demand that the media keep Rudy Giuliani, Trump’s personal lawyer, off the air, because of what he calls “misleading” comments about the Biden family and Ukraine.  Adding that giving him air time is “a disservice to your audience and journalism.”

ON A SIMILAR NOTE – During a special two-hour edition of “The Lead” on Friday, CNN’s Jake Tapper, repeatedly compared President Trump to President Nixon, but complained that unlike Nixon, Trump has Fox News and conservative political websites to carry water for him.

Never mind that CNN, MSNBC, NPR, The New York Times, The Washington Post trash Trump on anything he does or says 24/7, and have been doing so up to and including his election.  There was impeachment talk during his inauguration.

Wipe away those tears, Jake.  They may blur your ability to read the teleprompter.

HAVE YOU HEARD how CNN’s Wolf Blitzer and Jim Acosta took advantage of the fact that the Trump-Zelensky phone call transcript had not yet been generally released to the public, and blatantly lied about the president asking for a favor in regard to Biden.

CNN’s Gloria Berger poked fun of the president’s “conspiracy theory” about Biden and the Ukraine, continuing “to peddle conspiracy theories which we’ve seen him do throughout his presidency.”  Oh, the irony.  CNN pushed anti-Trump conspiracy theories 24/7 since his inauguration.

DEMOCRATS STRUGGLE with how to campaign against the booming Trump economy, especially when their proposals will kill the progress gained over the past three years.  Now, they have another problem explaining that while they are consumed with the impeachment process, they will be blocking the progress of the USMC (the new NAFTA) agreement, trade talks with China, and other issues.

IT’S NOT THEIR ONLY PROBLEM – With the candidates bad-mouthing big business and Wall Street, they are facing difficulties in raising money for sponsors of the Democrat Party Convention in Milwaukee.  Why donate money only to be openly chided over CEO salaries, equal pay and other issues.

MEANWHILE, Bernie Sanders’ campaign is reportedly in disarray as he now sits in third place behind Warren and Biden … and Cory Booker claims to have reached the goal of $1.7 million a day ahead of his deadline.  While his advisors have warned that for his campaign to continue, it needs more funding to compete for the top tier.  “I’m staying in this race, and I’m in it to win,” Booker declared.

May God continue to bless the United States of America.
