Dems seeking to turn supporters against Trump … note to Pennsylvania voters … Brennan to be interviewed … it’s the economy stupid … ponder this … and CBS News loses with O’Donnell

Here are my observations and opinions on my selected news of the day.

THEY’RE STILL AT IT, FOLKS – As I commented in my October 17, 2019 post, “The Dem plan to turn Trump supporters,” the left is out to wear you down; they want you to concede, the president has to go.  They’re not giving up and neither should you.

The Swamp dwellers, long-suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome, have come up with a diagnosis they want to you to believe Trump supporters are suffering with, Trump Fatigue Syndrome.

Without citing statistics, Matthew Continetti in the National Journal, claims “a large part of the country suffers from Trump Fatigue Syndrome.  Sufferers aren’t driven mad by the president.  They are just tired of having to wake up every morning to another of his sudden attacks, reversals, exaggerations, and boasts.  They want the show to end.”

While I have always thought Continetti to be a straight-thinking pragmatist, he sides with Washington Post columnist Robert J. Samuelson, who argues for the impeachment and removal of President Trump, while citing that Samuelson is “one of his favorites.”

So, Samuelson, and Continetti, have joined others at the New York Times and Washington Post, and the talking heads at CNN, MSNBC and other alphabet networks trying to convince you that you made an unfortunate mistake in 2016 and that impeachment of your president will give you immediate relief of TFS.

They want you to choose between Trump’s behavior and Washington’s preferred narrative of how things are supposed to work, and still haven’t grasped what you decided long before Trump arrived on the political scene, that most of what passes for standard operating procedure is just as farcical, suggests Mark Hemingway in The Federalist.

“But if it’s a choice between dealing with Trump’s foibles, which are challenging at best, and pretending the immorality and dishonesty of the system he threatens – a system that will almost certainly outlast him – is somehow a better option, don’t be surprised that so many people are sticking with Trump even through impeachment,” writes Hemingway.

“Worse,” offers Triche Osborne of Baton Rouge, Louisiana in Fox’s Halftime Report, voting for a Democrat lends legitimacy to the vicious, hateful behavior displayed toward Brett Kavanaugh and the underhanded, partisan impeachment inquiry.  Impeachment is a political process … and wasn’t intended to be a partisan one.”

“With the constant drumbeat from the mainstream media,” writes Scott Powell in American Thinker, “Democrats now hope the so-called impeachment investigation will spread so much smoke that people won’t be able to see what’s going on, except to subliminally conclude that with all that smoke around Donald Trump, there must be a fire, and that it’ll die down with his removal from office.”

“History has thrust on him (Trump) the role of American firefighter-in-chief charged with extinguishing corruption in government and the media, well as fighting a myriad of other smoldering battles – from protecting the nation’s sovereignty and borders and redressing unfair trade deals and cost-sharing of military defense alliances to promoting policies to secure energy independence and drive economic growth, with a particular passion to deliver opportunity for those at the bottom.,” writes Powell.

Forget impeachment.  “With a second term, Trump is likely to become a historically consequential political realignment leader,” says Powell. “He has already broadened the base of the Republican Party (despite the left’s belief that all he has is his 43 million voter base), and with a little more political jujitsu he can easily make more inroads and gain support from minorities and other constituencies who feel they’ve been neglected, or worse have been used as political pawns by the Democrat Party elites.”

Interestingly, Powell suggests that when the smoke clears after this phase of an illegitimate coup, 2020 “may turn out to be a landslide victory for Donald Trump, after voters digest that the Democrat Party has fully adopted the ethos that the ends justify the means, and are unwilling to take the chance on vesting Democrats with the power of the presidency.

“The past several weeks in Washington have shown us the worst of the Swamp. The people in my district, both Republicans and Democrats, have repeatedly told me that they are sick and tired of the way this non-transparent inquiry is going and the fact that Congress fail to do anything other than focus on tearing down the duly-elected president.” – Rep Fred Keller (R-PA)

BRENNAN SHOULD BE WORRIED – “The former CIA Director John Brennan sounds pretty worried about the Department of Justice’s investigation in the origin of the Russia probe, according to Breitbart after seeing him interviewed on MSNBC, but that didn’t stop him and host Nicole Wallace from voicing their criticism of Attorney General Barr for “daring to question and investigate what had been done during the Obama administration.”

Hearing Brennan say, “I’m supposedly going to be interviewed by Mr. Durham as part of this non-investigation,” Breitbart noted that Durham is “going to hold Brennan’s feet to the fire.”

He should be concerned about the Obama ordered 2016 Intelligence Community Assessment of January 2017 that stated, “Russia’s goals were to undermine public faith in the U.S. democratic process, denigrate Secretary Clinton, and harm her electability and potential presidency.  We further assess Putin and the Russian Government developed a clear preference for President-elect Trump.”

Of course, you will recall that despite the fact that the Mueller Report did not find the Trump campaign or anyone associated with it conspired or coordinated with Russia in its efforts to influence the 2016 election, Brennan regularly accused Trump of treason.

IT’S THE ECONOMY STUPID – “The average-income family has seen a gain of $5,003 since Trump came into office.  Median family income is now $65,976,” writes Steve Moore for Fox Business.

SOMETHING TO PONDER – Have you noticed that individuals who lose campaigns for the presidency – McCain, Romney, and Hillary Clintonlose it while trying to remain relevant.

HAVE YOU HEARD? – “A big bet by CBS Evening News on Norah O’Donnell as anchor is beginning to look iffy,” writes Alexandria Steigrad in The New York Post.

“In the last week alone, O’Donnell’s total viewers plunged 17 percent to 5.1 million. Among viewers in the crucial demographic ages 25-54, coveted by advertisers, the drop was a heart-stopping 25 percent,” according to Steigrad.

CBS Evening News has been stuck in third place since the Dan Rather departed in 2006.

May God continue to bless the United States of America.
