Here are my observations and opinions from my select news of the day.
NOT MY FATHER’S DEMOCRAT PARTY – My father was an FDR Democrat, through and through, and I have to believe that he would he would be sickened by the goings-on in today’s Democrat Party.
I don’t believe he would have voted for Hillary Clinton, but I’m certain that he wouldn’t have voted for Donald Trump either. He respected the office of the presidency, however, and I like to think he would be impressed with Trump’s accomplishments.
If he hadn’t left the party with all of the corruption among Democrats in their attempts to remove President Trump from office over the past three years, the move to socialism, with the match-up of Biden and Sanders, 2020 could have finally been the year that he decided that the Democrat Party was no longer his beloved Democrat Party.
DEM’S DIM VIEW OF TRUMP as “dangerous” simply cannot be justified in the true sense of the word – ‘able of causing injury or harm.’ I’m sure you have your own legitimate thoughts of a “dangerous” person.
In a soon to be published Variety magazine interview of Nancy Pelosi, she continues to degrade her position as the Speaker of the House while demeaning the presidency of Donald Trump saying, “We have the most dangerous person in the history of our country sitting in the White House.” She previously said that this “dangerous” man winning in 2020 would mean the end of “civilization as we know it.”
In the most recent information available, Variety, an entertainment industry publication, has just 40,000 paid subscribers. In the interview, Pelosi said, “I think the arts will be our salvation as a country. It’s a place where people can do something together. Communicate. Laugh. Cry. Be inspired. The arts will set us free.”
So, while America recalls the “F” word insults of the president by Robert De Niro and other entertainers, and the truly dangerous activities of producer Harvey Weinstein, Pelosi continues to cozy up to the Hollywood.
She’s not alone. Socialist Bernie Sanders, presumably unable to fathom the destruction he would inflict on America with democratic socialism, frequently states that President Trump is “the most dangerous president in modern history.”
LIBERAL WOMEN – After publishing my blog “SPECIAL: America IS ready for a woman as president” on March 7, 2020, I was naturally curious to read Kurt Schlichter’s piece in Townhall, “The Dems Are Right. Americans Find Annoying Liberal Women Very Annoying.”
Noting recent comments by Nancy Pelosi and Elizabeth Warren that America isn’t ready for a woman in the White House, Schlichter especially writes of Warren’s loss because “she was a very, very annoying woman … (that) the vast majority of Americans find her very irritating.”
As Warren bowed out of the race, she talked of being rejected because she was a woman, and spoke of those little girls who would now have to wait four more years. She was right, says Schlichter, “Americans would not vote for a woman like her, because she is a very, very annoying woman.”
While admitting that he didn’t have an “ex-wife,” he used the term in his analogy, believing that she, and other liberal women like Hillary Clinton, remind Americans of “ex-wives.” “It’s not misogyny to want to deal with their personal psychodramas and tedious nagging. It’s sanity preservation,” he writes.
Recognizing that he will be called a “sexist,” Schlichter points out, “Apparently, we are allowed to point out the unique specialness of women (like Pelosi’s leadership and Clinton being among the world’s most powerful women), but if they can be different in good ways, they can also be different in bad ways, yet we are not supposed to say that.”
As I suggested in my blog that I believed that Nikki Haley would be an ideal choice as a future Republican candidate for president, I found it interesting that Schlichter agreed, “The fact is that the first female to be elected president will be a Republican. Maybe it will be Nikki Haley. Maybe it will be Liz Cheney. But it will be a Republican, and it will not be an annoying one.”
SPEAKING OF THOSE WOMEN, those former Democrat presidential wannabe’s, they, and others, are now maneuvering for the number two slot with Biden. Amy Klobuchar was the first in line by withdrawing just before Super Tuesday, giving Apology Joe a leg-up in Minnesota.
But, Oops, Klobuchar made a “bit of a Freudian slip” according to Amanda Golden of NBC News, when she said that she “couldn’t think of a better way to end my candidacy than join the ticket.” She immediately backtracked and amended her remark by referring to her “joining the terrific campaign of Joe Biden.”
Meanwhile, Kamala Harris, who gave Biden a punch to the gut with her debate reference to him as a “racist,” now says she will support Biden, saying he “has served our country with dignity and we need hm now more than ever.”
That leaves Elizabeth Warren, whose support is still up for sale, as she is “taking a breath.” Would she sign on with Bernie Sanders after he called her a liar on national television?
There have been other women mentioned as potential Biden running mates, including Stacey Abrams, Sally Yates, Jeanne Shaheen and Maggie Hasson, although a few were floated merely as a courtesy during his campaign.
LAUGH-OF-THE-DAY – During her interview with Variety, Nancy Pelosi presented herself as a “lioness,” determined to protect the children from this dangerous president.
“Odd how Pelosi, the ‘lioness’ protecting children, is the current leader of the Democrat Party that supports abortion right up until the moment of birth,” commented Rusty Weiss and Jeff Dunetz in The Lid. “She didn’t utter a word about children being separated from adults who were using them to cross the border when Barack Obama was doing it. Some ‘lioness.’”
May God continue to bless the United States of America.
