I’m Back at the Keyboard Again

Commentary

I know, it’s been a while since I’ve published a commentary.  Chalk it up to a medical situation and, of course, Thanksgiving.  It doesn’t mean that I haven’t been piling notes on my stack of stuff.

However, before I give you my thoughts on those notes, I would be remiss if I didn’t recognize the milestone day in American history that this edition will appear in my readers’ inbox – December 7, 1941, the day the Japanese attacked our naval forces in Pearl Harbor.… read more

Commentary

Trump haters have found another means to make fools of themselves, forgetting that he won the election with an overwhelming majority despite their years of unsuccessful attempts to deny him the presidency.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom is best known for his coddling of immigrants, his inability to manage the land against fires and the aftermath, his mismanagement of the costly high-speed rail system. … read more

Mere Talk of Republicans Considering Ending Filibuster Rule a Mistake.

Commentary

What!  Republicans are going weak-keened?!

I darned near lost it while reading the banner headline across the top of six columns in the Wall Street Journal Tuesday morning while enjoying my coffee. It read, “Manchin Warns GOP: Don’t End Filibuster,” the longstanding rule that requires a 60-vote supermajority to bring most bills to the floor.… read more
