Perhaps you haven’t heard. President Obama has ended two wars. He has stated so several times, and his closest advisor Valerie Jarrett confirmed it on CBS’ 60 Minutes last Sunday. Continue reading

With Obama, social programs trump military issues
For some reason, Fridays are slow news days, but I couldn’t help but notice a kind of incongruence in issues in one of yesterday’s news reports. Continue reading
Recalling the concern I had about Ben Rhodes
We learned that the New York Times will be publishing a story on Sunday about Ben Rhodes, a foreign policy advisor to President Obama, duping the public on the Iran nuclear deal by creating a false narrative. According to leaked information, the story will reveal how Rhodes pushed information leading us to believe the administration was dealing with Iranian moderates, while we were actually talking to the ayatollahs. It is sure to be a major topic in the news in the days ahead. Continue reading
When it comes to facing, defeating terrorism, Obama and Clinton just don’t get it
After scenes from the terrorist bombings in Brussels disappeared briefly from our television screens, we saw clips of President Obama sitting with Raul Castro at a baseball game in Cuba and dancing the tango in Argentina. Even after seven years, I can’t understand how he can be so indifferent and callous with the loss of life to terrorism; not to mention his refusal to call out Muslim radicals. Continue reading
The wasted New Hampshire primary
It’s over, and nothing has changed, except I no longer have to listen to the ridiculous stories about New Hampshire voters, who don’t make up their minds until they step into the voting booth. Balderdash! For what? The entire effort there was for naught, a waste.
The “live free or die” people of the Granite State had an opportunity to right the GOP ship, giving us a clear choice going forward, and they failed us. Continue reading
The question marks around Trump
“Mr. Trump has no policy anchor; his political strategy is to rile up the ignorami. – Holman W. Jenkins, Jr., columnist.
In the lead-up to the Iowa caucuses, I listened to Iowans give their views of the presidential candidates. While many of them didn’t shy away from saying why they were supporting others who really have no chance there, Donald Trump has obviously stirred those who are simply fed up with Washington’s ways.
His promise to make America great again has struck a high note with voters even though they have no idea how he would be as president. While they seem to think they have nothing to lose, many of us know better. Beyond his worn out sound bites on the wall, deporting illegals and China, we haven’t heard any specifics on a Trump administration agenda. Continue reading
Medals awarded for humiliating America
Yesterday we learned that Iran’s Ayatollah Ali Khamenei presented medals to members of the Revolutionary Guard who took part in the humiliation of America with the “capture” of our sailors in the Straits of Hormuz. Continue reading
Don’t believe Hillary Clinton’s story of computer naivete
Here’s the question of the day: Can someone who faces charges for mishandling highly classified documents; failure to provide security for the ambassador and other Americans in Benghazi; and failure to keep her duties at State and her connection with the Clinton Foundation at arm’s length, be permitted to run for president? She is currently under investigation for all three.
The late Friday confirmation by the administration that Hillary Clinton’s unsecured home server contained closely guarded secrets, including 22 e-mails with the highest level of classification, comes just three days before the Iowa presidential nominating caucuses. They will not, of course, be part of the document dump. Continue reading
“W” was correct
“To begin withdrawing before our commanders tell us we are ready would be dangerous for Iraq, for the region and for the United States. It would mean surrendering the future of Iraq to Al Qaeda. It would mean that we’d be risking mass killings on a horrific scale. It would mean we allow for terrorists to establish a safe haven in Iraq to replace the one they lost in Afghanistan. It would mean we’d be increasing the probability that American troops would have to return at some later date to confront an enemy that is even more dangerous.” – President George W. Bush, July 12, 2007 press briefing.
While reading of the slow build-up of troops in Iraq, I was reminded of how prophetic President George W. Bush was as he was preparing to leave office, warning of the consequences of an early withdrawal from Iraq.
The handwriting was on the wall when Vice President Joe Biden failed to secure a status of forces agreement with Iraq and President Obama pledged to remove all troops from the country. ISIS took control of a major portion of Iraq and captured cities our troops had died for earlier. Continue reading
Capture of our sailors again points to our military weakness abroad
I hope you weren’t among those so grateful for Iran’s quick release of our sailors and their boats that you dismiss the fact that it again pointed to America’s weakness abroad.
Pictures of our sailors on their knees with their hands on their heads were broadcast around the world with quotes by an Iranian Revolutionary Guard general saying our Marines were “crying,” and “admitted humbly our power and might.” Continue reading
