Just when I think I’ve heard it all, I read that Secretary of State John Kerry told CBS’s Face the Nation that the chaos of the 2016 U.S. presidential election “is an embarrassment to our country” as he reflected on the anti-Muslim sentiments of the candidates and the growing concerns of world leaders. Terrorism
When it comes to facing, defeating terrorism, Obama and Clinton just don’t get it
After scenes from the terrorist bombings in Brussels disappeared briefly from our television screens, we saw clips of President Obama sitting with Raul Castro at a baseball game in Cuba and dancing the tango in Argentina. Even after seven years, I can’t understand how he can be so indifferent and callous with the loss of life to terrorism; not to mention his refusal to call out Muslim radicals. Continue reading
Medals awarded for humiliating America
Yesterday we learned that Iran’s Ayatollah Ali Khamenei presented medals to members of the Revolutionary Guard who took part in the humiliation of America with the “capture” of our sailors in the Straits of Hormuz. Continue reading
A cautionary note on business deals with Iran
When I read the headline, “Iran Does Billions in Business in Europe,” in Tuesday morning’s Wall Street Journal, of course I was reminded of those same billions we released as part of the flawed nuclear deal fashioned by the Obama administration.
In addition to an account of spending with European companies, there was a mention of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s side visit to the Vatican.
The talking heads on TV were musing that perhaps it meant that Iran was finally preparing to become a member of the global community. No chance. Continue reading
“W” was correct
“To begin withdrawing before our commanders tell us we are ready would be dangerous for Iraq, for the region and for the United States. It would mean surrendering the future of Iraq to Al Qaeda. It would mean that we’d be risking mass killings on a horrific scale. It would mean we allow for terrorists to establish a safe haven in Iraq to replace the one they lost in Afghanistan. It would mean we’d be increasing the probability that American troops would have to return at some later date to confront an enemy that is even more dangerous.” – President George W. Bush, July 12, 2007 press briefing.
While reading of the slow build-up of troops in Iraq, I was reminded of how prophetic President George W. Bush was as he was preparing to leave office, warning of the consequences of an early withdrawal from Iraq.
The handwriting was on the wall when Vice President Joe Biden failed to secure a status of forces agreement with Iraq and President Obama pledged to remove all troops from the country. ISIS took control of a major portion of Iraq and captured cities our troops had died for earlier. Continue reading
13 hours Hillary would like us to forget
“We had four dead Americans. Was it because of a protest or because of guys out for a walk one night who decide to kill some Americans. What difference at this point does it make?” – Hillary Clinton, Jan. 23. 2013
What difference at this point does it matter, Hillary? You have to be proven accountable for the loss of four American’s lives. You have to explain why you were so callus about security at Benghazi. You have to explain why you didn’t send in the military units that were ready to go. And you have to apologize to the families of those killed for lying to them while they grieved over their losses. And, finally, you have to admit that the attack had nothing to do with a video and explain your role in concocting that myth for public consumption.
I saw the movie, 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, and now, more than ever, I am convinced that Hillary Clinton is guilty of dereliction of duty. Continue reading
Capture of our sailors again points to our military weakness abroad
I hope you weren’t among those so grateful for Iran’s quick release of our sailors and their boats that you dismiss the fact that it again pointed to America’s weakness abroad.
Pictures of our sailors on their knees with their hands on their heads were broadcast around the world with quotes by an Iranian Revolutionary Guard general saying our Marines were “crying,” and “admitted humbly our power and might.” Continue reading
IBD sees ISIS as the real enemy too
After posting my thoughts here that we now have a plan to reduce carbon emissions over the next 50 years, but lack a plan to destroy ISIS today, I was pleased to see the Investor’s Business Daily editorial position, Leaders Fight Phony Climate Enemy – Solving Real Problems Too Hard. “What better enemy for them to tackle than one that can’t be seen, whose damage can’ be quantified, and which can’t fight back?” IBD states.
“They should get serious about eradicating terrorism. Climate change has harmed no one, but terrorists continue to slaughter in large numbers – nearly 33,000 people were killed just last year in terrorist attacks,” according to the IBD editorial. Continue reading
More Benghazi revelations in Clinton e-mails
The terrorist shooting in San Bernardino gave the media another opportunity to provide cover for Hillary Clinton and the latest bombshells on Benghazi.
However, thanks to FOX and a couple of conservative papers, the word is on the street and will certainly find its way to the Select Committee on Benghazi and future debates.
Not only did we learn that there were forces preparing to move to Benghazi just hours after the attack began, Clinton apparently missed a meeting on sensitive intelligence items, including the Presidential Daily Brief (PDB), because she slept late on the Saturday following the Benghazi attack. A ‘must see’ monologue
From time to time Judge Jeanine Pirro delivers a truly thought-provoking opening monologue on her FOX program, “Justice With Jeanine.” Just in case you were out to dinner or missed it for some other reason last night, I have copied it to this blog for you to see and hear. Click here.… read more
