Something to think about

No doubt you have heard the discussion taking place in the media about the contest to draw a cartoon likeness of the prophet Mohammed sponsored in Garland, Texas.  Two terrorists (calling them what they are) attempting to disrupt the gathering with AK-47s, were shot and killed by police.

While most people believe that drawing the Prophet is covered by the First Amendment, there are those, including Fox’s Bill O’Reilly, who agree, but say we shouldn’t taunt Muslims by defaming the Prophet.… read more

Surprise! There were Jews in the Jewish kosher deli

“It is entirely legitimate for the American people to be deeply concerned when you’ve got a bunch of violent, vicious zealots who behead people or randomly shoot a bunch of folks in a deli in Paris.” – President Obama

Obama (realclearpolitics.com)

President Obama referred to the Paris shooters as a bunch of violent, vicious zealots in his interview with VOX.com (realclearpolitics.com)

Those are the words of the president from a January interview with VOX.com’s Matt Yglesias made public this week, as he indicated the media overstates the terrorist threat and said his job fighting terrorism was akin to a big city mayor fighting crime.

“A bunch of violent, vicious zealots” is his latest description to avoid referring to Islamic radicals.  How are we ever going to defeat the scourge of this barbaric group if our leader stubbornly refuses to properly identify our enemy?

And, surely he doesn’t believe those “zealots,” who openly detest Jews, “randomly” selected a Jewish kosher deli to “randomly” murder its customers, who most certainly would be (and were) Jewish.

Of course, supporters of the president attributed his inappropriate word choice to a lack of a teleprompter.  What does that say about his ability to think on his feet? Continue reading

And she wants to be president, Part 9

As you probably know, Hillary Clinton is expected to make the issue of economic inequality in the United States the cornerstone of her presidential campaign in 2016.

News that “the charitable foundation run by Clinton and her family has received as much as $81 million from wealthy international donors who were clients of HSBC’s controversial Swiss bank,” published in the UK’s The Guardian, should concern her followers.

Leaked files revealed accounts of seven donors to the Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation. A Canadian mining magnate is one of the foundation’s biggest financial backers, and a British retail magnate, used his tax-free Geneva account to transfer $1 million into the foundation.

Meanwhile, the New York Times reports that “Dennis Cheng, a trusted aide to Hillary Rodham Clinton, will leave his post at the Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Foundation this week and is expected to join Mrs. Clinton’s campaign preparation efforts as a fund-raiser.  He helped the Foundation secure a $246 million endowment there in 18-months. It’s time we put the Bush “lie” to bed

I don’t often read columns by Froma Harrop, who leans to the left, but the headline on her recent piece, “What killed the American Sniper,” attracted my attention having seen the movie.  I knew how sniper Chris Kyle died.  I was living in the Texas hill country at the time and the news of this hero’s death in Stephenville hit the Lone Star State hard.… read more

Fox’s Jeanine Pirro tells it like it is

Jeanine Pirro (energytimes.com)

Jeanine Pirro tells it like it is on her Fox program, Justice with Judge Jeanine. (energytimes.com)

It’s unfortunate that Judge Jeanine Pirro’s program appears on Fox on Saturday night, when most people are having dinner out or are engaged in another social event.

While we frequently look to Charles Krauthammer or George Will to give us a commentary that clearly states a crisis and how we need to face it, I was duly impressed by Pirro’s opening statement on Feb. 7.  Please take seven minutes of your time to listen.  Click here.

NBC’s Brian Williams to take some time off

While NBC’s management is investigating the material used by its Nightly News anchor Brian Williams, Williams is going to take some time off.  While he does, rumors are already flying that Katie Curic is waiting in the wings.

Most people don’t realize that while Williams is the anchor of Nightly News, he is more than a “news reader.”  He is the program’s managing editor, which makes him the decision maker on what airs and what doesn’t.  Hmmmm Continue reading

NBC’s Brian Williams caught in lies

I can’t remember the last time I watched the evening news of any of the so-called mainstream television networks, ABC, CBS or NBC (including MSNBC).  I believe they are all champions of the Obama administration.

I have written about the failure of these networks to cover matters that embarrass the administration, including negative statistics gathered in their own Wall Street Journal/NBC News survey that have not been aired on the NBC Nightly News.

NBC Nightly News Anchor Brian Williams lied about being on a helicopter shot down in Iraq. (youtube.com)

Now we learn that NBC Nightly News Anchor Brian Williams not only lied about being shot down while riding in an Army helicopter in Iraq, but repeated to story several times, including during an appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman.

It reminded me of Hillary Clinton’s claim that she had come under sniper fire during a trip to Bosnia in 1996 while she was first lady.  She, too, repeated the story several times during interviews. Continue reading

In the media: Did you see it?

No bias in the so-called mainstream press?

Did you see ABC News’ Jonathan Karl question White House spokesman Eric Schultz on how he can state the Obama administration doesn’t make deals with terrorists when they traded five Taliban prisoners in exchange for the release of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl?

If you were watching ABC News, you wouldn’t have seen it. … read more

NBC’s Williams, O’Donnell continue to carry Obama’s water as Crowley leaves CNN and Compton rips Obama’s profanity

As I have written in previous posts, NBC and its cable network MSNBC continue to pretend that certain news event simply didn’t happen if they are likely to make the Obama administration look bad.  Such has been the case with Benghazi, the IRS scandal and most recently the surfacing of embarrassing tapes showing the egotistic ObamaCare architect Jonathan Gruber revealing how the public was seen as stupid.… read more
