When I saw the photograph of people waiting in line at the Scottsdale Fashion Square mall (some since 3 a.m.) to put $1,000 down on a car they will not see for more than a year, the Tesla Model 3, a number of thoughts crossed my mind.
Who are these people, I thought, who would buy a pig in the poke? My father used to echo the saying, there’s a sucker born every minute, but I’m not sure these people fall in the category. They obviously have the money to do so. Continue reading

In my March 29, 2016 post, Court nominee not a ‘centrist,’ I wrote that Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) had agreed to meet with President Obama’s Supreme Court nominee, Merrick Garland.

Just when I think I’ve heard it all, I read that Secretary of State John Kerry told CBS’s Face the Nation that the chaos of the 2016 U.S. presidential election “is an embarrassment to our country” as he reflected on the anti-Muslim sentiments of the candidates and the growing concerns of world leaders.
