The sour media … Swalwell in 2020? … those California senators … a beard does not a successful legislator make … time for globalists to review … the Comey hearing … and just for laughs

Here are my observations and opinions on my selected news of the day.

MORE FROM THE SOUR MEDIA – During coverage of former President George H. W. Bush, the sour-grapes media (formerly known as the mainstream media) continued to draw the comparison of the elder Bush with President Trump.

MSNBC Commentator Andrea Mitchell actually appeared giddy as she excitedly folded her arms across her chest as she mocked that moment during which President Trump crossed his arms, seemingly in defiance. Never mind that the footage shows that position to be only momentary. Other media cited that he did not recite the prayer.

Possibly the most despicable comment came from ABC’s chief foreign correspondent Terry Moran, who imagined President Trump’s vision of his own state funeral, joking about what could be expected – “Probably a different tone in that funeral … first he’s going to choreograph it, so there might be more trumpets and fanfare,” he said on the network’s live stream of the Bush funeral. He parroted what he imagined Trump would say, declaring his service would be “the best presidential funeral ever. No one will ever have seen anything like that funeral.”

NEWSWEEK, not to be left out, tweeted @Newsweek: “Trump has been impatient for the Bush memorial to end, but proud of himself for acting civil.”

HAVE YOU HEARD? When CNN’s Wolf Blitzer asked Rep. Eric Swalwell, the microphone-seeking Democrat legislator from California, if he would consider a Biden-Swalwell ticket … or a Swalwell-Biden ticket, Swalwell suggested.

JIM KESSLER RESPONDED @ThirdWayKessler that he has “about the same chance of getting the nod. I’ll be starting a go fund me site shortly.”

WHAT IS IT ABOUT CALIFORNIA’S SENATORS, Democrats Dianne Feinstein and Kamala Harris, who are so into themselves that they are unaware of the staffers around them?

You will recall that the FBI had to tell Feinstein that she had a Chinese spy working for her for 20 years. And she’s served on the Senate Intelligence Committee.

On Friday we learned that Harris accepted the resignation of one of her aides, who during her period as California attorney general reportedly harassed his female executive assistant on a daily basis. Although Harris flatly denied any knowledge of the events that led to a settlement of $400,000, she has known the aide for 14 years.

The Sacramento Bee interpreted her denial that she isn’t a terribly good manager, hardly a propitious beginning to a presidential candidacy.

Townhall was quick to reference her hypocrisy, particularly in regard to how Harris berated Judge Kavanaugh during the sexual assault charges against him.

IT TAKES MORE THAN A BEARD to be a successful Republican, the likes of Abraham Lincoln, yet we have recently seen Rep. Paul Ryan and Sen. Ted Cruz sporting beards.

Senator Cruz sporting  a beard (C-Span2)

Cruz’s beard was the subject of a feature, “I’m So Sorry that Ted Cruz’s New Beard Looks Great,” by Christina Cauterucci, who said “as a truth-seeking journalist, I feel I must write (this).”

As a “truth-seeking” journalist, surely there are more important topics she could cover.

“When Cruz showed up in the Senate with a filled-out salt and pepper beard giving his face a defined jawline and its first-ever hints of ruggedness and affability,” she wrote.

If only they were as interested in forwarding the president’s agenda. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has a more current statesman-like appearance, he too looks at the legislative calendar as a do-nothing reminder. I don’t know about you, but I’m tired of hearing this or that cannot be addressed prior to this holiday or that recess.

WHAT DO YOU SUPPOSE GLOBALISTS ARE THINKING now as they see the Paris’ famed Champs Elyesses, the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre all closed because protesters – les deplorables – have taken to the streets, breaking windows and setting fires.

French President Emmanuel Macron criticized President Trump when he bowed out of the Paris Accord and mocked his America first nationalist theme as unpatriotic. Macron supported open borders, and vowed to put France back to work after decades of 10 percent unemployment. Recently he spoke of a willingness to give up France’s security to Brussels.

His green obsession led to a tax increase on gasoline and diesel fuel that would hurt the country’s middle class, and they weren’t having any of it.

WHY? Why was a DOJ attorney advising the subpoenaed former disgraced FBI Director James Comey not to answer key questions about their investigation into FBI malfeasance in 2016? Reportedly, he followed the lawyer’s advice with “gleeful acceptance.”

The unanswered questions dealt with the Hillary investigation, the FISA warrants and the fake dossier.

Comey is expected to return for more questioning on December 17, 2018, but …

AND JUST FOR LAUGHS – PETA asks that we no longer use the phrase “bringing home the bacon,” and rather say “bringing home the bagel.” And they want us to stop using the phrase “that really gets my goat.”

May God bless the United States of America.
