Special: Pelosi should be concerned with overzealous Schiff and Nadler investigations

Here are my observations and opinions on the Trump-Zelensky conversation.

AFTER NEARLY A WEEK’S HIATUS without an ability to provide you with my observations and opinions while traveling, I have been chomping at the bit to comment on the goings-on regarding President Trump’s phone call with Ukraine President Zelensky and Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff’s embarrassing performance during questioning of DNI Joseph Maguire.

When I last wrote, Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had caved to the radical left element of her party and decided to begin impeachment proceedings based on hearsay about a whistleblower statement on the call without taking a vote.  And knowing the president had agreed to release the transcript of his conversation with Zelensky.

Even though Democrat chairmen Rep. Jerold Nadler and Adam Schiff have essentially been conducting impeachment hearings in their Judicial and Intelligence Committees, respectively, why the rush?

Pelosi charged the president with betrayal of his oath of office, betrayal of our national security and betrayal of integrity of our elections, but cited no examples before walking off her flag-draped official-looking stage.

Speaker Pelosi would like you to believe she’s not concerned about a backlash from voters in 2020 resulting in losing the House.  Appearing in a televised Q&A with Texas Tribune CEO Evan Smith, that question surfaced.

“I wanna ask you, Speaker, heading into the election cycle, do you have any anxiety at all about anything we’re talking about, or anything we’re not talking about, impacting your ability to hold control of the House in 2020?” Smith asked with a clear reference to the impeachment inquiry.

“It doesn’t matter,” she replied. “Our first responsibility is to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.” We all know that with  Pelosi, it’s all about retribution, not the Constitution.

Krameronright, and most of Washington, do not believe that she would put country before her power.

ENOUGH ABOUT PELOSI – It’s time someone brings the hammer down on Adam Schiff.  You’ll remember that he’s the Democrat who had proof of Trump’s collusion with the Russians in 2016, but never provided it.

After two years of listening to Schiff’s wild charges, I must admit that I was shocked to hear his opening statement during the Maguire hearing.  Although he was reading it, I just knew that those weren’t Trump’s words.  And as it turned out, they weren’t, and he later admitted to delivering a parody.

“We’ve been very good to your country.  Very good.  No other country has done aa much as we    have,” read Schiff.  (So far so good.  Not Trump’s words, but he did cite how we helped Ukraine while Germany and other European countries talk but do nothing.)

“But you know what, I don’t see much reciprocity here,” Schiff continued. “You know what I mean?  I hear what you want.  I have a favor I want from you though. And I’m going to say this only seven times, so you better listen good.  I want you to dig up dirt on my political opponent, understand?  Lots of dirt on this and that.”

If you read the transcript of the call, you would see what a fabrication this is. Never did he use such a threatening tone or words.  President Trump did ask for a favor in regard to “Crowdstrike,” a cybersecurity firm that did work for the Democrat National Committee. And he asked Zelensky to look into the matter of Joe Biden’s threat that prosecutor be fired, which Biden bragged about on camera.  Trump never asked him to “dig up dirt on my political opponent” or get “lots of dirt on this and that,” as Schiff said.

“I’m going to put you in touch with people, and just any people, I’m going to put you in touch with the Attorney General of the United States – my Attorney General, Bill Barr – and he’s got the whole weight of American law enforcement behind him.  And I’m going to put you in touch with Rudy, you’re going to love him.  Trust me. You know what I’m asking, so I’m only going to say a few more times, in a few more ways.  And don’t call me again.  I’ll call you when you’ve done what I asked,” Schiff continued with his fabrication.

Trump did say Rudy Giuliani and Bill Barr would be in touch regarding issues referred to, but didn’t say, “don’t call me again.  I’ll call you when you’ve done what I asked.”

In fact, the call transcript reveals that President Trump said, “Whenever you would like to come to the White House, feel free to call. Give us a date and we’ll work that out.  I look forward to seeing you.”

TO UNDERSTAND THE GRAVITY of Schiff’s parody – painting Trump as a thug during the call – you have to understand that millions of Americans listened to Schiff during the hearing, and the many times his made-up words were played on the CNN and MSNBC, and believed them to be Trump’s words when they were not.

It’s like The New York Times publishing a scathing article on it’s front page that turns out to be false.  They print a retraction, but the damage has been done.

NOW GET THIS – The Deep State is still at work in our intelligence community. Between May 2018 and August 2019, the intelligence community secretly eliminated a requirement that whistleblowers provide direct, first-hand knowledge of alleged wrongdoings, according to a report in The Federalist.

That means that the unknown whistleblower in the Trump-Zelensky case, who did not have direct or first-hand knowledge, can now be heard.  How convenient.

PRESIDENTIAL CONVERSATIONS, like President Trump’s with Ukraine’s Zelensky, are common and should be considered executive privilege as with past administrations.  Only recently have taped conversations held by President’s Kennedy and Johnson, verbally “twisting arms,” been released.  But we all know this is just the latest chapter in the left’s book of fiction, “Get Trump.”

AND FINALLY, AS IF WE CARE – Speaking with Jane Pauley on CBS Sunday Morning during a book tour with her daughter Chelsea, Hillary Clinton supported the impeachment inquiry into President Trump, saying that she won’t accept four more years with him in office.

May God continue to bless the United States of America.
