A win for Trump, America first … a cheap shot from Chris Mathews … Dems can’t say ‘terrorist’ … TIME either … Biden no foreign policy expert … CNN settles with Sandmann … the Hunter Biden saga … and Chelsea Clinton scores with parents’ help, too

Here are my observations and opinions from my select news of the day.

AMERICA FIRST WINS – I hope the members of the leftist Socialist Democrat Appeasement Party and their media sycophants were listening to President Trump Wednesday morning as he put to bed any consideration of another prolonged war, or World War III as many predicted, as a result of his decision to take out the Iranian terrorist Qasem Soleimani.

Trump calmly offered, in clear terms, a path for the Iranian regime to become a productive member of the World community, while putting them on notice that the U. S. will not allow them to have a nuclear weapon.  He reminded them of our military might and alerted NATO to become involved in bringing stability to the Middle East.

Americans should be proud of the peace through strength strategy of the Trump administration.  The Iranian mullahs, who have been comfortable in their arms-length roles as religious figureheads, while their generals do their dirty work, know that would be lost in a war with the U.S.

Incidentally, don’t think the president’s stand against Iran is going unnoticed by North Korea’s Kim Jung Un and others who misjudge the president’s firm hand when it comes to America’s safety.

YOU CAN’T MAKE THIS STUFF UPMSNBC’s Chris Mathews, commenting on the president’s address, couldn’t resist taking another ridiculous cheap shot, noting that “he arrived as though descending from heaven with that light shining down on him.”

WHAT IS IT ABOUT THE DEMOCRATS who refuse to call a terrorist a terrorist?

It was like a flashback to the Obama era when “terrorist” was a word never uttered while talking about the Muslim threat, when Democrat presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren, appearing on ABC’s The View, had to be pressed three times by Meghan McCain to admit Soleimani was a terrorist.

Even in the end, when the frustrated Mc Cain finally asked, “He’s not a terrorist?” Warren got off the hook by responding, “Of course, he is,” without using the descriptor.

IN TIME MAGAZINE’S “Time for Kids,” publication issued as a guide for parents on how to talk with their children about the situation unfolding in Iran, it too,  avoided the use of the word “terrorist” in describing Qasem Soleimani, referring to him instead as a “top military leader in Iran.”

The guide explains that President Trump took action on Soleimani simply because he said Soleimani was a terrorist, ignoring the official position of the United States government that has declared the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which includes the Quds Force, run by Soleimani, a terrorist organization.

APOLOGY JOE BIDEN, who is a foreign policy expert only in his own mind, said, “Let me tell you something, Iranian influence in Iraq is minimal,” during an August 23, 2010 speech to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, “it’s been greatly exaggerated.”

It’s no wonder that former Defense Secretary Robert Gates said, Biden has “been wrong in nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over four decades.”

WHY do you suppose the Iranian government has so far refused to release the “black box” from the Ukrainian International Airlines Boeing 737-800 that crashed on takeoff in Tehran Tuesday evening?

HAVE YOU HEARD that CNN agreed to settle am $800 million lawsuit with Nick Sandmann, the Catholic high school student, who, while wearing a “racist MAGA cap,” was falsely accused of “taunting” and “harassing” a native-American?  The amount of the settlement was not disclosed.  Lawsuits are still in play against the Washington Post and NBC Universal.

THE HUNTER BIDEN SAGA continues.  “The more we learn about Hunter Biden,” writes Beth Baumann in Townhall, “the uglier it gets.”  Reporting on the story that surfaced about Hunter using his dead brother’s identity while attending an Arizona rehab facility, she writes, “it takes things to a whole new level.  We’re not just talking about someone who is power-hungry and money-hungry, we’re talking about someone who lacks any scruples.”

CHELSEA CLINTON, like Hunter, has apparently taken advantage of her parents’ positions, too.  Over the past nine years, she has made a bundle serving on the board of IAC/InterActiveCorp, a media and internet investment company; much of it while her mother was in the Obama administration and a potential president.  Money and access.

She receives an annual retainer of $50,000 and $250,000 worth in restricted IAC stock units, according to Barron’s.  As of the recent close, her shares were valued at $8.95 million.  Earlier, she had an annual salary of $600,000 for two years as a special correspondent for NBC News, and was put on the board of Expedia Group in 2017, a position which reportedly earned her more than $250,000.

May God continue to bless the United States of America.
