Crazy Maizie … impeachment from day one … Bloomberg bombs … Hillary slams Bernie … 2nd Amendment supporters calm in Richmond … and a restaurant surcharge for climate change in California

Here are my observations and opinions from my select news of the day.

YOU CAN’T MAKE THIS STUFF UP – We know that nearly all of the Democrat senators are expected to register partisan votes in the impeachment trial of President Trump.

Over the past three years, we have heard most of them attack him for one reason or another.  I would like to believe they had their own reasons for doing so; a legitimate ideological position difference, and not to merely support the coup to bring down his presidency.

One would also like to believe that the senators are well-informed, and not blind or deaf to what has taken place over these three years in arguably the most publicized presidency in history.

On President Trump’s inauguration day, day one, a headline in the Washington Post read, “The Campaign to Impeach President Trump Has Begun.”

Yet, on Tuesday, Sen. Maizie Hirono, the Democrat senator from Hawaii, called the claim that Democrats wanted to impeach the president since he was inaugurated, “a weird conspiracy theory.”

“What I found astounding was that they’re still saying that we were out to get the president from day one,” Hirono said.

How embarrassing.  You just can’t make this stuff up.

On what planet was she when Rep. Maxine Waters called for the president’s impeachment on two occasions just days later and again in April 2017.

Just six months after the inauguration, Democrats Brad Sherman of California and Al Green of Texas introduced articles of Impeachment, followed by Democrat Steve Cohen of Tennessee in November 2017.

“We’re going to impeach the MFer,” shouted the newly-elected Democrat in the midterms, Rep. Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, on January 4, 2019.

“For Mazie Hirono to claim Democrats haven’t been out to get Trump from the earliest days for his presidency is just bizarre, especially given the evidence,” commented Matt Margolis in PJ Media.

You should also remember that it was Hirono, who was complicit in the Democrat opposition effort against President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.  That effort was considered to be another attempt to prevent Trump from accomplishing his duties as president.

She was asked whether her being one of four women on the Senate Judiciary Committee impacts the Kavanaugh confirmation proceedings, according to Ian Schwartz of RealClear Politics.  Referencing the fact that all of the men on the committee signed-on to demand an FBI investigation, she abruptly said, “It’s the men in this country.  And I just want to say to the men in this country: just shut up, do the right thing for a change.”

How many other senators sitting in judgement of President Trump are this oblivious, or claim to be, as Hirono would have you believe.  God help us.

THANK GOODNESS we don’t have to worry about a “President” Mike Bloomberg.  Can you believe that he said he “would vote to impeach, vote to convict, because there’s just so much evidence that he (Trump) acted inappropriately?”  No high crimes or misdemeanors … but “inappropriately.”

The response came after NBC’s Craig Melvin asked him how he would vote if he were a senator, and how he would advise the senators who are going to decide the president’s fate.

SOMETHING TO PONDER – During an interview promoting her up-coming documentary about 2016, Hillary Clinton said, “Nobody likes Bernie Sanders.  Nobody likes him, nobody wants to work with him, he got nothing done.  He was a career politician.

“It’s all just baloney and I feel so bad that people got sucked into it,” she added. Kramerontheright would ask her if she feels bad about the people she sucked into her campaign. Especially those who she stood up at New York’s Jacob Javits Center, while she pouted in her hotel room.

Why would she do this at this time?

YOU’VE MOST LIKELY HEARD that the leftist media was predicting (and hoping for) white supremacists to rally and cause trouble in Richmond, Virginia when the state legislators met to discuss gun control proposals.  The goofy governor, Ralph Northam, declared a state of emergency ahead of the event.  Long rows of chain-linked fences were erected around the capitol building.

But there was no trouble as 2nd Amendment supporters travelled to Richmond from surrounding states, some carrying guns.  CNN and MSNBC anchors were visibly disappointed.

RESTORE CALIFORNIA will do no such thing.  It’s a program that calls for 1 percent charge to your restaurant meal.  It purports to make your meal more climate friendly.

Restore California provides funding for farmers to build healthy soil, and more specifically funds “carbon farming projects such as compost application, cover crop planting, tree planting, and improved grazing management.”

Managed by the non-profit Zero Footprint, the program is expected to generate nearly $10 million in the first year, based on income from the state’s $97 billion restaurant industry, according to Madeline Wells of SFGATE, who reports that upscale restaurants seem to be complying to what is called an opt-in decision.

May God continue to bless the United States of America.
