Here are my observations and opinions on the DOJ’s decision to drop the case against Michel Flynn.
“I didn’t have scandals, which seems like it shouldn’t be something you brag about. No one in my White House ever got in trouble for screwing up so long as there wasn’t malicious intent behind it.” – Barack Obama, May 23, 2018
“There was not one single whisper of scandal.” –Joe Biden, April 25, 2019
I began writing about the sanctimonious Barack Obama in 2007, seven years before I started this blog. He gave me so much to write about over the years. I don’t have to remind you of his scandals, that in his mind were not “scandals.”
When Attorney General Bill Barr announced that he would be dropping the charges against Michael Flynn and would ask Judge Emmet Sullivan to dismiss the case against Flynn, Obama was the last person I expected to comment, because there is no doubt that he was involved up to his neck in the effort to bring down the Trump presidency. No “malicious intent behind it?”
“POTUS (president of the United States) wants to know everything we’re doing.” – FBI Agent Peter Strzok to FBI Lawyer Lisa Page, Sept. 2, 2016
Then there was Obama’s January 5, 2017 meeting of coup members, Yates, Comey, Brennan, Clapper, Rice and Biden to strategize matters regarding Flynn and sharing classified information with the Trump transition team. You will recall, but let me refresh your memory, on October 8, 2019, I wrote that Susan Rice suspiciously made note of this meeting in which she said Obama wanted them to proceed “by the book.” The e-mail, now referred to as a “CYA” e-mail, was written just minutes before Donald Trump was inaugurated, and has again surfaced in the Flynn documentation.
Documents recently released revealed that former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates was surprised by Obama’s knowledge of the FBI “wire-tapping” of Flynn, appearing that Comey kept her in the dark regarding the investigation.
With the DOJ decision to drop the case against Flynn, I would have thought that Obama would want to stay in the weeds. However, perhaps thinking a good offense is better than a weak defense, he held a conference call with Obama alums that was purposely leaked. He indicated “there is no precedent that anybody can find for someone who has been charged with perjury just getting off scot-free … (putting) our basic understanding of rule of law at risk.”
It didn’t take Georgetown University law professor Jonathan Turley, a Democrat, long to jump on Obama’s charge, reminding that “Flynn was never charged with perjury,” while citing law on dismissals. And keep in mind that Flynn was not under oath when he was set up by Comey.
Of course, Obama would not surface that, in fact, there was precedent. “Bill Clinton lied under oath to a grand jury about the exact allegation of sexual misconduct he was facing. Not only did Clinton face no criminal charge for his blatant act of perjury, he wasn’t even convicted by the Senate. One might say he “got off scot-free.”
Without taking their eye off the ball, that being the defeat of President Trump in November at all cost, Democrats have now launched a campaign against the effort by Attorney General Barr and U.S. Attorney John Durham to uncover the Deep State attempt to unseat President Trump.
“Maybe that’s why Mr. Obama is so eager to distort the truth of the Flynn prosecution,” the Wall Street Journal suggests.
Yes, that, with a twist of revenge. You see, Obama disliked Flynn, perhaps more than Trump. Flynn, with his national security issue knowledge, didn’t hesitate to give it to Obama straight. Flynn was not a “yes” man.
Democrats see the Flynn case dismissal as a “cover up” by Barr at the request of President Trump. “(Barr’s) politicization of justice has no bounds,” said Nancy Pelosi, claiming that Barr is overriding the Special Counsel, while disrespecting the “rule of law,” using Obama’s talking point.
Of course, Pelosi’s amnesia doesn’t allow her to recall former Attorney General Eric Holder’s flagrant politicization of the Obama DOJ department.
The dismissal of the Flynn case and the thousands of new incriminating documents “raises questions about the role of the Obama Justice Department and White House played in targeting Mr. Flynn,” notes the editorial board of the Wall Street Journal.
Former deputy FBI director Andrew McCabe, now an Obama surrogate at CNN, insists that “General Flynn was not targeted,” yet in Comey’s casual recounting during an appearance with NBC’s Nicole Wallace of how he sent his agents to Flynn’s office, that was evident. With a smirk on his face, Comey was clearly amused and pleased with himself and the ambush.
Speaking of NBC, Meet the Press host Chuck Todd was caught editing a video tape of Catherine Herridge’s CBS interview with Attorney General Barr in which Barr, in fact, cited adherence to the rule of law. Todd, in an apology to Barr’s spokesperson Kerri Kuper, “regretted the effort.”
Tim Russert, who was thought to be fair during his 16 years as host of Meet the Press, I believe, turned over in his grave, again.
MARIE HARF, the lightweight who served as a spokesperson for John Kerry at State, now a sometimes contributor at Fox, accused Barr of being Trump’s personal attorney, and was appropriately put down by Fox’s Lara Logan on “Outnumbered.” I missed seeing it live, but thoroughly enjoyed seeing Harf quashed.
OBAMA ALUM CALL SIDEBAR – While referring to the importance of the coming election, Obama noted, “I’m not on the ballot, but I’m pretty darn invested. We’ve got to make this happen.”
“Pretty darn invested,” is an understatement writes the author of the blog, NEO. She writes that he is indeed pretty darn invested “to protect his legacy, to be able to be able to tell President Joe Biden what to do, to have Biden choose aides and cabinet members from among the old Obama crew, and implementing the old Obama agenda, but also to protect himself from further revelations at the hands of Barr and Trump.”
“If Biden is elected, all of the investigations into Obama’s role (in the Hillary Clinton cover up and Trump coup attempt) will be dropped like a radioactive potato,” according to NEO.
So, here I am again, writing about the arrogant Barack Obama, community organizer. He squandered eight years in an ill-fated attempt to fundamentally transform America to his utopian piece of a global community, and was left with a presidency bereft of any meaningful legacy.
He devoted is final months to form a resistance movement of his minions, who used their positions in the Deep State in an effort to bring down the Trump presidency over the past years.
While most of them were in the Department of Justice and its FBI arm, under Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch, others who served under Hillary Clinton and John Kerry in the State Department have also been outed.
The DOJ IG has identified mismanagement within the DOJ and FBI without naming individuals, although a number of them have been identified through released documents.
Now we must await the findings of the prosecutor, U.S. Attorney Durham, to bring about accountability charges.
May God continue to bless the United States of America.
