SPECIAL: The Obama legacy, Part 2

What did President Obama know, and when did he know it, is a question that is being asked as documents surrounding the Michael Flynn case have surfaced. Here are my observations and opinions.

In my May 11, 2020 special edition on former President Obama, I wrote of my surprise that he decided to comment on the charges being dropped on Michael Flynn.  Documents now coming out point clearly to his involvement.

I wrote about his comment coming out of purposely leaked discussions of a phone call Obama had with his administration alums in which he saw the rule of law being at risk because of Attorney General Bill Barr’s actions.  It appears to be part of the effort to damage Barr’s reputation.

As I indicated yesterday, Obama’s decision to comment has the Wall Street Journal editorial board scratching their heads, and Matt Margolis at PJ Media believes Obama “is worried about something, that is obvious.”

“Listening to the call,” writes Margolis, “you can hear that Obama sounds shaky, even nervous discussing it.”

THERE WAS NO MALICIOUS INTENT (scogginsnoggin2blog)

Obama knows, of course, that U.S. Attorney John Durham is drilling down into this case, and Obama maybe “eager to distort the truth of the Flynn prosecution,” as the Journal surmised.

After 13 years of writing about the Obama scandals.  Yes, scandals.  I want to see justice served on him.  Despite the e-mails I have received from friends, who want see him jailed, I don’t believe that’s in the cards.

I believe he could be pronounced accountable, not only for the framing of Flynn, but for leading a resistance attempt to bring down the Trump presidency.  He should have his license to practice law revoked.

Much will depend on the written and taped documentation the DOJ and Durham have uncovered and information derived from interviews with Deep State actors.

Obama has heard the line – what did you know and when did you know it – before.  The media has previously inquired about those “scandals” within his administration, and each time they swallowed his response that he “just learned about it on the news.”

HILLARY’S SERVER – Obama claimed that he didn’t know about Hillary Clinton’s use of a private e-mail address and server for official business when the New York Times published it – “the same time everybody learned it through the news reports,” he told CBS’s Bill Plante.

THE VA SCANDAL – He didn’t know about the VA waiting list scandal and coverup involving medical care for veterans.

SPYING ON FOREIGN LEADERS – “I can assure you that I certainly didn’t know anything … until the IG report had been leaked to the press,” was his response to our government spying on foreign leaders.

SEIZING PHONE RECORDS – In May 2013, Obama’s spokesman Jay Carney told the media that the president found out about his administration’s seizing of phone records of AP news reporters and Fox’s James Rosen while he was “on the road.”

THEN THERE WAS THE IRS SCANDAL – “I first learned about it from the same news reports that most people learned about this.  I think it was Friday,” was his response to a reporter’s inquiry, “When did you first learn that the IRS was targeting conservative political groups?”

FAST AND FURIOUS – It wasn’t until October 12, 2011 that he told reporters that he had heard the news about the December 2010 murder of the U.S. Border Patrol agent.

THE CASE OF GENERAL PETRAEUS – While Gen. David Petraeus was under investigation for months by the FBI, Obama was in the midst of his 2012 bid for reelection and it was never learned when Obama was informed.

THE AIR FORCE ONE PHOTO OP FLYOVER – When an unannounced flyby of Air Force One over the Statue of Liberty on April 27, 2009, panicked New Yorkers, Obama told reporters the next day “it was something that … uh … we found out about … uh … along with all of you.”  It turns out the White House had approved the photo op.

BENGHAZI – Just 56 days before the 2012 election, the Obama White House went into full spin control.  Questions as to what the president was doing during the hours of the siege, particularly once he knew our ambassador was missing, and why there was no rescue attempted went unanswered.

In June 2016, National Review described the Benghazi aftermath as “a devastating account of staggering dereliction of duty and deception by the president and his top subordinates.”

OBAMAGATE is how President Trump referred to the scandal to bring down his presidency during a Monday press conference.  The details of which are beginning to surface.

I cannot forget the former president’s claim that, “No one in my White House ever got in trouble for screwing up so long as there wasn’t malicious intent behind it.”

No “Intent” seems to be the saving grace for Obama and Hillary Clinton.  Recall the words of former FBI Director James Comey: “I think she was extremely careless. I think she was negligent.  That I could establish.  What we can’t establish is that she acted with the necessary criminal intent.”

All I can say now is … stay tuned.

May God continue to bless the United States of America.
