The ‘principled’ Wray getting nervous? … responses to Biden’s remark … a Clyburn flashback … WSJ’s Strassel on target … ‘imagine’ … Hillary and Amy follow Dem talking points … which is it Dr. Fauci? … and leftist columnist attacks Sen. McSally, again

These are my observations and opinions from my select news of the day.

CHRISTOPHER WRAY (cbc.ca)

COULD IT BE that FBI Director Christopher Wray is finally seeing the handwriting on the wall?  Frankly, I didn’t think he was the man for the job in 2017, and when the New York Times referred to him as “low-key and principled,” I knew my gut was right.

I recall him meekly stating that he was going to conduct training sessions for agents in an attempt to prevent future rogue agent situations.

We only learned recently that Wray had a long-time working relationship with Andrew Weissman, Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s “pit bull.” They were fellow “swamp rats.”

With the publishing of Sidney Powell’s book, “License to Lie: Exposing Corruption in the Department of Justice,” we learned that Wray, in 2017, worked with Weissman, who was accused of prosecutorial misconduct in the Enron case, that destroyed the lives of thousands of Enron employees.  Mueller and Comey were also involved in that case.

We know now why Wray was silent during and after the Mueller investigation. It’s a Deep State loyalty thing at the highest level of U.S. law enforcement.  The same bad actors who spew that “rule of law” stuff.

During an interview with ABC News in December of 2019, following the DOJ IG report on the origins of the Russia investigation, Wray refused to accept the characterizations of FBI agents being part of the Deep State.  By this time the e-mail and text exchanges between agent Peter Strzok and FBI lawyer Lisa Page were made known.

Rather than making a bold statement about his plan to shake up the agency, he went weak-kneed again, saying, “I think that’s the kind of label that’s a disservice to  the mem and women who work at the FBI, who I think tackle their jobs with professionalism, with rigor, with objectivity, with courage.”  He said that he did not believe the Trump campaign was unfairly targeted by the FBI probe.

Now, however, Wray, who apparently needs to be hit between the eyes with a two by four like a stubborn Jackass, seems to see his world coming apart by people who are willing to restore the FBI with vigor.

Acting DNI Richard Grenell’s declassification of the unmaskings of Michael Flynn was a door opener.  Sen. Lindsay Graham intends to begin critical testimony by a few of the bad actors before the Judiciary Committee in June.  And surely, Wray knows that U.S. Attorney John Durham, who has a record of investigating FBI agents, is a man with a mission given to him by Attorney General Bill Barr, who has indicated he plans to get to the bottom of things in the DOJ and FBI.

On Friday, Wray, in an attempt to show concern with his agency’s involvement, ordered the bureau’s Inspection Division to conduct an after-action review of the handling of the FBI’s investigation into Flynn, which will include examining whether current FBI employees “engaged in misconduct.”  Nice try.  Too little, too late.

Without any prosecutorial authority to bring a criminal case, the division can only evaluate actions that might warrant disciplinary measures.

Kramerontheright believes that Wray will be replaced as FBI director once the Durham investigation is completed, if he doesn’t resign sooner.  Recall that Trump was not present for Wray’s swearing in, marking the first time an FBI director was sworn in without the president who nominated present.  After the Ukraine episode, Trump commented that Wray would “never be able to fix the FBI.”

HARRIS FAULKNER (celebdetails.com)

A POWERFUL, PERSONAL RESPONSE to Joe Biden’s “you ain’t black” remark came from Fox News Channel’s Harris Faulkner Friday:

“I’ve been fighting against this notion that you’re not black enough unless you think a certain way, you vote a certain way, you speak a certain way, you do certain things, my whole life.  I grew up military – pretty much neutral along the zone of ‘can we all just get along no matter what we look like.’

“I have bi-racial daughters.  This is more than just a little offensive.  It is short-sighted, it is a blind spot for the former vice president.  He should have gotten up immediately on whatever venue, microphone he had and said – ‘You know what, let me restate that.’”

“It is clear now more than ever, following these racist and dehumanizing remarks,” commented Katrina Pierson, Trump 2020 senior advisor, “that Joe Biden believes black men and women are incapable of being independent and free thinking.

“Biden has a history of racial condescension and today he once again proved what a growing number of black Americans and I have always known: Joe Biden does not deserve our votes.”

“It is time for us to restore this country’s dignity, this country’s respect.  And I can think of no one better suited, better prepared than my good friend, my late wife’s great friend, Joe Biden.” Rep. James Clyburn, February 26, 2020

I RECALL how serious-minded individuals argued against the impeachment trial in view of the presidential election being just months away, and that voters, not a handful of partisan political hacks, should decide Donald Trump’s future.

IRONICALLY, Wall Street Journal columnist Kimberly A. Strassel in “Biden Will Answer for FBI Abuse,” she writes, “Former Vice President Joe Biden, a least, will face judgement in November.

Strassel’s column appeared in the Journal the morning Biden made his “not black enough” remark.  She was addressing Attorney General Bill Barr’s statement, “I don’t expect Mr. Durham’s work will lead to a criminal investigation of either man (Obama and Biden).”

“While their (Obama and Biden) actions may not rise to a ‘crime,’” she writes, “both men may be guilty of an outrageous abuse of power.  Such abuses require political accountability, through elections.

“Americans can’t expect or want the Justice Department to settle political disputes through drummed-up criminal investigations.  The country has a tried and true way of settling those fights: a vote,” she concludes.

I FOUND IT INTERESTING that Sean Ono Lennon, son of the Beatle’s John Lennon, took to Twitter to  comment @seanonolennon: “It must be a real shock for many African-Americans who were unsure about who to vote for to suddenly realize they are no longer black since Joe Biden said so.”

Imagine that.

HILLARY vs AMY – While Hillary Clinton has decided to join fellow Democrats in their attacks on President Trump over his use of hydroxychloroquine, quoting an unnamed study of 96,000 virus patients that supposedly found that those who received the drug promoted by Trump had a “significantly higher risk of death compared to those who did not,” while suggesting the president “stop playing doctor on TV,” @HillaryClinton.

UNLIKE HILLARY, who is unsuccessfully struggling to be relevant, Amy Klobuchar, said to be one of the finalists in the bid to be Joe Biden’s running mate, though reluctant to concede it, spoke of her husband’s recovery after taking the drug.  During an interview with Michael Smerconish on SiriusXM, she said he developed Covid-related pneumonia, coughing up blood, and “one day, he just got better.”

In line with her hatred of President Trump, she’s part of the Democrat Party’s misguided effort to malign him over the use of the drug, even though it appears that the drug actually saved her husband’s life, according to Amy Johnson, writing in LifeZette.  The party line over “life.”  “That’s how irrational these loons are. Scary, isn’t it,” writes Johnston.

RECALLING my April 8, 2020 edition, I called your attention to Dr. Marc Siegel’s report that he believed hydroxychloroquine saved his father’s life.

FAUCI HAVING IT BOTH WAYS – Peter J. Hasson, a reporter with the Daily Caller noted this in his Tweet @peterjhasson: “Dr. Anthony Fauci warns senators of ‘suffering and death’ if states reopen too early,” reads the headline over a piece by Berkeley Lovelace Jr. published on May 12, 2020.  However, in a piece published just 10 days later, the headline reads, “Dr. Anthony Fauci says staying closed for too long could cause ‘irreparable damage.”

Most Americans prefer to pay attention to science, but it doesn’t help when they get mixed messages.

LEFTIST COLUMNIST Laurie Roberts at the Arizona Republic, who takes pride in her form of journalism, in which she regularly takes shots at Sen. Martha McSally.

Usually she accuses McSally of being a Trump lap dog, but this time she latched onto a poll by OH Predictive Insights, a little-known Phoenix polling research firm, taking particular joy, I’m sure, in using pollster Mike Noble’s quote – “McSally is doing terribly” in her headline.

… THOSE WHO DIED FOR OUR FREEDOMS. (stucu.com)

Proof of Roberts’ eagerness to attack McSally is evidenced in her willingness to accept the results of a poll, conducted among just 600 likely voters, done in April, prior to McSally’s visit to the Phoenix Honeywell plant in May, when she participated in the president’s roundtable discussion.

And, a month after the poll, we learned that McSally’s opponent Mark Kelly was benefitting from a business connection in China.  That didn’t prevent Roberts from gleefully reporting that McSally trailed opponent Kelly by 13 points.

Her form of activist journalism allows her to ignore “facts” that might get in the way of her agenda.

May God continue to bless the United States of America.
