The Hunter Biden Laptop Story Must Be True; the New York Times is Now Covering It … and There’s More on Joe and the Working-Class

Commentary

Just yesterday, I devoted space to “what ever happened to” stories, and now I learn that The New York Times has finally published a story about the Justice Department’s investigation of President Biden’s son, Hunter.

Writing in National Review, Andrew McCarthy tells of a 1,700-word news story by three of the Times’ top reporters buried on page 20 in today’s paper.

“Well, I’ll be damned!” writes McCarthy. “It’s not merely a tax matter; turns out that prosecutors are probing his (Hunter’s) penchant for cashing in on his father’s political influence, through payments by overseas entities for which he did not register as a foreign agent.”

Buried 23 paragraphs in the story, McCarthy notes that the Times reports that prosecutors are examining emails between Biden and his business associates that come from “a cache of files that appear to have come from a laptop abandoned by Hunter in a Delaware repair shop.  “You don’t say,” Mc Carthy acknowledges.

This was a non-story during the 2020 elections. You may recall how most of the mainstream media wouldn’t touch this story, but the New York Post did.  In fact, Post columnist Miranda Devine authored a book, “Laptop From Hell: Hunter Biden, Big Tech and the Dirty Secrets the President Tried to Hide.

When you consider that the Times, Washington Post, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, Twitter and Facebook did not allow coverage of this during the election, we can now understand that one in six voters, 10 percent in swing states, have reportedly said they would not have voted for Joe Biden had they been aware of this scandal.

In September 2021, five months after Hunter Biden conceded that the laptop “absolutely” might be his, the Times continued to label the laptop story as “unsubstantiated.”

Now the paper is making a big deal over having obtained the Hunter emails, the emails that were concealed when Dad was running for president.

A grand jury is hearing testimony and scrutinizing documents, according to McCarthy.

Now that the “Bible” of the left’s media is covering the Hunter Biden laptop story, they, too, are now free to cover it.

SPEAKING OF THE NEW YORK TIMES, the staff of the Daily Caller in Washington DC sent congratulations to the paper for “just now breaking the story we broke a year ago,” noting the Times headline – “Cuomo Aides Spent Months Hiding Nursing Home Death Toll.”

THEN THERE’S JOE – Perhaps we should all be concerned that President Biden doesn’t even know who he is, writes Matt Margolis in PJ Media.

At a White House event on Tuesday evening, the President said, “the first lady’s husband had contracted Covid.”  Really!  He was referring to Vice President Harris’ husband – the second gentleman.

Just a common example of misspeaking, right?

NO WORKING-CLASS CREDENTIALS – We have repeatedly heard about the president’s Scranton days, his tales of his upbringing, and recently, during his appearance at the Democrat House winter retreat, President Biden again talked of the working-class and the middle-class – the backbone of the country.

Between now and the midterms, you will be hearing more of that lie.  You see, the Republican Party is now the party of the working-class.  In the 2020 election, Trump carried the overall working-class (non-college) vote, as he did in 2016. The GOP has carried the working-class Congressional vote in three of the last four elections, with the exception of 2018, when the vote was split.

Polls show that working-class support for Democrats continue to decline.

OUT OF TOUCH WITH WORKING CLASS – The Wall Street Journal editorial board suggests that when President Biden again tries to blame the nation’s gas retailers for price gouging, someone needs to tell him that 150,000 of them are mom and pop operations, and that fewer than five percent of the stations are owned by refiners.  They might also tell him that profit margins are only about 10 to 15 cents a gallon, even when prices go up.

Now, more than ever … may God continue to bless the United States of America.
